just got an email from spa utopia that they'll be leaving the pan pacific hotel location after 20 years, with their last day of service on december 30, 2025. i took this as a sign to use up my gift cards and booked an rmt massage, and the confirmation included a few changes that are worth noting: there's now a $4 eco friendly fee per person, per visit gift cards are no longer accepted for rmt services they mentioned that after the downtown location closes, gift cards can still be used at their other two locations in north vancouver and langley. sharing this because a lot of people (myself included) used to buy the costco gift card packs or receive them as gifts. with the new policy and upcoming closure, you could end up stuck with gift cards you can't use for rmt treatments. something to keep in mind if you're planning a visit, gifting for christmas, or thinking about grabbing black friday gift card deals. read more

Tucked under the Canada Place Pan Pacific Hotel is Spa Utopia. My husband and I came fore a couple's massage. When you're having a great massage, 75 mins fly by so fast. This location has facial, nails, massage and RMT massage as well. Area is huge with Roman style interior. There are several rooms for the different spa treatments. I especially enjoyed the facility. It is complete with a dry sauna, steam room, washroom and shower. The shower room has all the amenities - makeup remover, spray, mouthwash, feminine napkins, hair dryer, bath robes, towels, lockers, slippers - basically everything you need (except for a comb). You can literally spend the whole afternoon relaxing here. My masseuse Emiliana is the best so far. Her technique of kneading at the correct points makes the massage so relaxing. Her long gliding strokes were gradual, smooth and gentle. After my massage, we sat in the quiet lounge area for complimentary snacks and drinks. We were offered mocktail cranberry or orange mimosas too. It's such a treat! read more

i have been switching off stylists over the last 3 years.... no one has really done what I wanted consistently. Today, based on other review, I booked an appointment with Jessica at Utopia Salon in Hazel Dell. I brought in inspiration pictures so she could see the vision I had been wanting for quite some time but without much success. Jessica talked me through the process, what she saw was currently happening and what we needed to do to achieve my vision. She also explained what she was doing and why. The outcome was exactly what I wanted. Lots of layers and now with a shape I was wanting. Looking forward to a lasting relationship with this talented stylist. read more

I used to absolutely love this place and would go once a year to treat myself with a friend but my experience here has gone downhill. The last time I went was in 2019 and things were different . We used to be able to use the pool that's part of the Pan Pacific, but that is no longer available to Spa Utopia customers. After each massage they used to offer a special drink and you can choose red or white wine along with a variety of juices. Now it's just juice or tea. I found the cold towels outside of the steam room and sauna to be lacking and not refilled often even though I went early afternoon on a weekday and there weren't many people there. At one point there were only myself and my friend using the steam room/sauna and there was only one cold towel available. Sadly, we just shared. The one thing that prompt me to write this review was the message. I came for a relaxing, quiet, decompressing massage. I was hoping to be so relaxed I would fall asleep but my masseuse kept talking and talking. The massage itself was great but I could not relax when my brain was constantly switches on. He kept talking and asking me question after question, and talking about anything and everything. I tried my best to only answer in single words, but he didn't seem to get the message. He even explained multiple times that this is going to be a great massage. I was afraid if I told him to be quiet, he would get offended and the massage wouldn't be as good. I wish I had told him and I wish I had requested in the beginning that I would like my masseuse to be a quiet one. I have experienced some of the best massages here. Back then, when they put the slippers on me I was so sad that it was over because I was so relaxed but the last 2 times I went and gave no preference on who I wanted as a masseuse I received two people who just wouldn't stop talking and my head felt so overwhelmed I didn't feel rejuvenated at all. Not just the whispered quiet voice talk you get in a spa, but regular voice volume that when they put the slippers on me I felt like it was nice that it was over and I can go enjoy some quiet time in the sauna. Don't get me wrong, the place is still clean, quiet, and those that work there are still professional and friendly. I rarely give 5 starts as always room for improvement but decided it was worth it. I have been to many spas over the years and this one wins hands down. So why does it win? The lounge is a relaxing space. It is not cramped (like some other downtown ones that are more expensive that I have visited). Maybe a little bit dated but that is okay. They are constantly refilling their signature tea, the coffee, cucumber water, lemon water and then the little dishes of oranges, dried fruit and nuts. Just nice little snacking things. You do get complimentary non alcohol drinks - I had a lovely cranberry dealcoholized sparkling wine drink. You are not rushed out of the space and can just sit by the fire and enjoy. I was lucky to receive a gift card for my birthday that included three treatments. I arrived 40 minutes before my first treatment so I could enjoy the steamroom and the sauna. I was the only one in both and they were bliss. First up was my RMT. This massage was wonderful. I do go for massages regularly and this guy was great. The pressure was firm but I could feel the knots leaving. Totally professional. No complaints. Next up was my facial. I discussed my sensitive skin with the esthetician and she changed one of the products she was going to use. Totally happy with my treatmet and the products used. And finally the pedicure. I would say your average pedicure but no complaints. When I finished I sat in the lounge while my toes dried with another tea. It was a great day and no complaints. Prices had gone up since I received my gift card but they honoured it with no problems. 1st view of entrance is nice, clean and professional Products are high end spa products that are pricey. Sauna/steam room women only I assume is small But hot enough to relax. Sauna is upstairs with few more lockers. Simple necessity products 4 use deodorant, hair spray, H2O to drink, lotion. Waitn area 4 services nice/comfy with more snacks, infused water, tea, coffee, non alcoholic mimosa. Robe/slippers given 2 walk to services. Massage was professional & nice 4 basic service Although not a fan of paying 20$ more for a registered masseuse versus non licensed! Clara was nice would see her again for deep tissue next time! Pedicure was mediocre as most reviews stated the GEL polish is either supplied by nail tech or salon which shld invest in higher end gel. That doesn't bubble or require 5 coats? Or it's the light that doesn't function to heat Gel properly? Ladies were nice & social, everything seemed clean BUT I did have sense That between the 2 that I watched one of them were following the other in the process N steps of doing the pedicure. I was a little nervous booking a spa here because of some really poor reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor. However, I do think it's a good value, considering the services are quite a bit cheaper than comparable spas at hotels downtown, particularly for an RMT massage. I'll breakdown my entire experience step by step. Booking - It was simple to view availability and book an RMT massage online. - Oddly enough, a Spa Utopia staff called a few days later and tried to change my appointment from 4:30 pm to 5 pm, which I did not want because this would have shortened the amount of time I could use in the facilities after my treatment. The facilities closed at 6 pm that day (Sunday). They were pushy about it but I was firm on keeping my appointment time. The time should not be available online to book if it was not "optimal" enough for the RMT. Upon arrival - After signing a waiver, they bring you on a short tour of the facilities. The women's side has 3 showers, 2 toilets, and 4 change rooms on the bottom floor. The top floor also has an additional change room and shower. - You are given a locker with a robe, towel, and sandals. - I would recommend grabbing an access card to the pool right away if any are available, as they have a limited amount. I had changed into my bathing suit and everything before going to get a pass, but they were out. Spa facilities - Since all the pool cards were out, I decided to try the sauna. It's a dry sauna that is quite small, probably enough for 3 people max. However, it wasn't too busy, so I had the entire sauna to myself. - There are cool eucalyptus towels outside the sauna, as well as by the steam room. These were great to pair with the hot rooms. - Tried the eucalyptus steam room as well before the massage. I liked the scent, but I'm not really used to the intense moisture so I preferred the sauna. Pool - It is an additional $10 to get access to the pool and fitness centre for 3 hours. Well worth it, in my opinion. - To get to the pool, you have to exit the spa, go down to the lobby, enter another set of elevators, and head to the 8th floor. It's kind of weird to walk around in your robe and sandals, but whatever. - The outdoor pool is saltwater and a good size. It is not deep, I could stand comfortably throughout. - There are lots of chairs to lounge on, but most were taken. Not many of them have shade. - Hot tub was nice and a good size. For some reason, though, the water only went up to the chest. - Beautiful panoramic views of Coal Harbour. - You can order food and drink on the deck. - I checked out the facility here, and they have a large sauna in the bathroom. - Fitness room was well equipped, and there's a steam room in that bathroom. Relaxation lounge - After the pool, I showered, changed, and went to the lounge. - Had another glass of the tea and apple juice, which you can make yourself. There's also coffee and a selection of teas to choose from. - There are some dried fruits and nuts available. I only tried some of this, and it was okay. Personally not a fan of dried fruits and nuts. - Selection of magazines to choose from, and plenty of comfortable couches to lounge on. Massage - They call your name from the relaxation lounge on the dot. Martyna was my RMT, and she actually came and got me a few minutes before, which I appreciated. - Martyna asked for my main reasons for getting a massage. She told me the entire process and I decided on a full-body massage, with focus on the shoulders. - The massage had a combination of hot towels, choice of massage oils, and different pressures. I mentioned that it was okay to put a little more pressure, and I was happy with the pressure Martyna gave. She checked in with me a few times, as well, to ensure it was the right amount. - It was the full 50 minutes. - At the end of the massage, I was offered a complimentary glass of wine (3oz) or juice. Makeup touch-up - At the end of your visit, you can head to the makeup counter for a complimentary makeup touch-up. It's very basic. I was offered an eyebrow filling in, concealer, eyeshadow, and liner. - This was just okay. I felt like the makeup artist put in minimal effort in this. Some takeaways would be to make sure you schedule your service with plenty of time to enjoy the facilities if you choose to. My 50-minute massage was at 4:30 pm, and the spa closes at 6 pm, so I had planned to arrive early to make the most of the pool and spa amenities. I did relax in the lounge until about 6:30 pm and no one rushed me out. Honestly, if the service had been any later, I wouldn't have been able to take my time in the facility. It's really ridiculous that they had tried to move my appointment later, so minus a star for that. Overall, it was a great first spa experience for me. All the staff were very nice, and I was pretty happy with everything, other than the phone call. I'd recommend it if you have it covered by your benefits. I had the best experience here! Everything was very clean, sanitized and organized. They really did an amazing job of creating an experience as soon as I entered the door. Staff was fabulous and I had the best massage I have ever had. This spa had great attention to detail with a new hair tie being offered, clean robe & sandals and everything needed for before and after treatments. I enjoyed the eucalyptus steam room as well as the dry sauna prior to my massage. They had iced face cloth towels, a variety of teas, coffee and snacks. The music was really relaxing and it was an extremely soothing environment. They did a fabulous job of keeping up to date with electric massage tables to adjust height and to a seating position at the end of the treatment. The products here are my favorite too. So-called RMT practitioner wasn't skilled nor experienced, very disappointing. He wasted too much time tapping(!) allover my body and gently rubbing oil, followed by unsure moves that didn't feel so good and ended up giving me neck pain and tight muscles here and there. In my many years of using spa services, I've had very rare instances where I didn't enjoy my massage, something that I didn't expect to happen at Spa Utopia. My wife also had a bad experience. She didn't find her masseuse competent, and wasn't feeling well after the massage. I won't be going back to this place. read more

I don't think I ever would have ventured all the way down to Pan Pacific hotel for a 55 minute RMT massage appointment if I didn't receive a gift card from my sister. And I'm so glad I did. If you don't plan on using the hotel's parking lot...After entering the hotel you walk straight towards the screens until the very end of the hallway and take the escalators down to the CS floor to reach the entrance of spa utopia. I suggest coming half an hour earlier if it's your first time here just to explore some of the facilities they offer and enjoy some of the complimentary snacks and drinks they offer. It's also great if you're the type that likes to chat, cause you might have an extremely enjoyable conversation with some of the other spa guests. At least I did. When you first enter the spa, there's a room full of merchandise you can purchase. After going through the glass doors, if it's your first time there.... they'll give you a form to fill out and a quick tour of the spa. And part of the reason I deducted a star was because I felt my tour was a bit rushed compared to what I witnessed other people got out of their tours. The staff who gave me the tour, never told me her name, about the showers, the pool or the complimentary snacks or drinks. However, the rest of the staff were fabulous and made me feel extremely at home. Anyways, I digress... so if you're early, you can spend your time in the lounge flipping through magazines or make small talk with your friends while enjoying a nice cup of tea/ coffee, while snacking on healthy dried snacks. And when it's time for your appointment, someone will call out your name in the lounge. The room for the massage was very nice and quiet. I love the fact that the massage beds are heated. Note: if you think the room is too quiet, you can ask your masseur/ masseuse to turn up the volume for the spa music. My masseuse was a gem! Monica Addy's the name. Probably one of the better masseuse I've had. Her strength was on par with some of the male masseurs. And that's really saying something as I usually find female masseuse lacking in strength. My Swedish massage was pure bliss! She started off with asking me if I had any problem areas or past accidents. Then she asked whether I wanted the scented (lavender or spring scent)/ non scented massage. After the relaxing massage, I was given a wide selection of complimentary drinks to choose from. I got myself a white wine :9 It was nice and fruity. It would be nice if i was told what kind of wine I was being served though. I quite enjoyed it. And after all that, you can go back to the lounge, use their sauna, take a quick shower (rosemary mint shampoo, conditioner and bath gel) and or go to the outdoor pool/ hot tub up on the 8th floor with a pretty nice view. You'll need to take 2 different elevators though. Although impossible, It'd be nice if they had an indoor pool option ... especially for a rainy/ cold day. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here with just a couple of minor hitches. Will definitely come back again when I feel like pampering myself though. read more

I was given a gc for Christmas and was excited to try it. I was given a very basic Manicure at the nv locatio that didn't even last past a week with more than a few chips... I found it overwhelming when I walked in as the front staff, the locker part was confusing, different staff assistance, told the sauna was fully booked so I wasnt able to try it and they had difficulty processing my payment and tip which would seem like a basic procedure...and not cheap! Spa Utopia is the ultimate spa in Vancouver. From the moment you arrive to the time you leave, there is this feeling of serenity. I visit this spa about 7-8 times a year and the front desk staff here are very organized. I never had any problems even if I tried to think of something. Services I have had include the massages, spray tan and facials. All are 5/5 and I never hesitate to tell my out of town friends about this place. Most people in Vancouver know about Spa Utopia already. If you decide to get a massage or facial, you can access the change rooms afterwards which include lockers, steam room, showers with high quality products and any other toiletries needed to get ready. The steam room with eucalyptus is a nice touch. I recall having a sore throat one day and I spent 30 mins in the steam room. It felt like heaven on my throat. read more

MASSAGE: I had 50 minute massage Designed for you. The massage started 5 minutes late and also ended 5 min earlier. That makes it 40 min only, but they still charged me full price. Quite annoying when the price is pretty high. FACILITY: steam room needs to be renovated. It's a bit moldy. I would say Spa Utopia is so relaxing and classy which a good place to pamper yourself. We walked in and the front desk girl greeted us then asking us to fill out application form. She gave us a quick tour of the lounge (fruits, snacks, chairs, etc.) and showed us the changing/locker room. As requested, we arrived 45 mins early then got changed. I had an organic tea and sat at waiting area to watch the people kept coming in. Wow, such as busy day. I like that hotel spa facilities, clean and high standard of service , steam/sauna and high quality of bath towel and robe. It's really make you so comfortable and relax. My RMT was great, he has over 10 years' experience. But, 90 mins massage was a bit painful. Overall, the atmosphere made it up and got covered from the company. Good enough. read more

What a great experience!! Going to the spa is defiantly a treat. I booked a RMT deep tissue massage online (easy enough). I booked with Krystin. She was fantastic. I've had my share of RMT massage and she gave good pressure and a balance of relaxation. I also love the extra warm towel they use. All the extra detail was awesome. I often don't go to the spa because its expensive, but this visit was worth it!! The spa is very clean and quiet. Even with it being very busy it still felt calm and relaxing. I came 30 minutes before my appointment. I filled out a short form. And after given a tour of the facilities. Women's change room/shower was great had all the things you need. I used the eucalyptus steam room before my massage which was nice. You're given a locker with robe, slippers, towels so on. After my steam I went to the lounge area to have some tea and snacks. Great room just to unwind. My therapist came to get me and gave me a wonderful massage. After I had complimentary wine. Spent some time relaxing at the lounge, after I changed into my swimsuit and headed to the pool, a must if its a nice day!! You have to give an i.d to the reception and they will give you a key to the pool area located at the 8th floor of the hotel. Beautiful views of the ocean and city. Small pool and hot tub but lots of area to work on that tan! You have 2 hours limit here. I was relaxed and rejuvenated and ready to face the world again. The massage was very relaxing and I love the soothing music that's played in all the rooms (massage room, waiting/lounge area and steam room). There's also tea, coffee and complimentary wine after your massage and some dried fruits and nuts at the lounge area. You're given access to the steam room and sauna. Pool access is an additional $10. The steam room was great. There's music and peppermint infused oil. So relaxing. It's quite small and could get crowded very easily. I was in there with another lady and it was great until a group of three loud girls came in. Other things at the spa are showers, blow dryer, curling iron (no straightener.... boo), body lotion and shaving gel. You get a locker stocked with 1 towel, 1 rob and your host will bring you a pair of sandals. The reason for the low rating was my locker smelled of stinky feet. I didn't realize that when I got it. It was only after I came back from my massage and it was too late. My clothes and everything else I stuffed in there smelled of stinky feet. They should do a better job of sanitizing and removing the odour from the lockers. I also read in some of the reviews that there's a complimentary touchup for your makeup but I wasn't told nor did I see anyone offering it. I had to ask for face cream. read more

Other than the men's change room, there's nothing else to complain, I'd be back again in a heartbeat. After all these Yelp reviews and eating out, I just needed a great R & R, and a well deserved one. Being in the Pan Pacific, I expected nothing but the best. The retail stuff at the front desk, I just ignored, eager to jump in to check out the facilities. The initial area to sign in with a hostess was pretty basic, then showed the waiting area with a few sofas, and today, quite a bunch of ppl are wearing their white robes lol, about 15 or so just mingling around. Free nuts, banana chips, raisins, etc which I definitely avoided, and tea available. So off to the individual rooms, which were as expected to be decked out in a warm, soothing environment as well as the corridors. Appreciated the small touches, like putting some extra warm towels for my shoulder blades while lying face down on the table. Oh, the massage? Recommend Megan, knew what she's doing and terrific scalp massage. Next time, I'm going for the deep tissue, need some pain. It was so relaxing, I counted about 3-4 times I dozed off for a bit, in just 50 min. session. and impressed how the table actually turned into a chair as the therapist used the power options to make me more comfortable with varying angles. But the men's change rooms; even Steve Nash gym had more room to move around without bumping into one another. Nice touch with the shaving blades, foam, Q tips...but no hair spray, gel?? Another highlight was using the hot tub on the 8th floor of the hotel: incredible views of Burrard Inlet and the North Shore. Just nothing else except water, as pic shows ;) read more

Holy mother of J! What an incredible treat and experience. The staff are exceptional. From the ladies that greeted us at the front desk, to my RMT, to the ladies cleaning up. Every single person was super friendly and very lovely. That really made the day super lovely. We came at 11, planning to take full advantage of one of the best spas (and hotels - the Pan Pacific) in Vancouver. We started in the eucalyptus steam room for an intense sweat sesh. Then we headed to the dry steam room. Just before our massage, we were taken to a lounge area where you have fruit, nuts, teas, coffee, water, and some of the best couches to relax on. My RMT, Monica, was very sweet and attentive. The massage, a 50 minute full body, was exactly what I needed. I felt so relaxed, and exhausted. After my massage, we sat and drank complimentary wine and snacked some more. Then we headed up to the pool, where we lounged, drank some more wine, and swam for a few hours. We showered and got ready in a nice bathroom, complete with everything a lady needs (including curling irons). In total, we made a day out of it, just over 5 hours. Seriously, such a wonderful time. I'm a little on the fence about Spa Utopia - for one reason - I feel that the prices do not always reflect the quality of their services. I've been to Spa Utopia in both Langley and the Pan Pacific locations and have similar views for both locations. My most recent visits have been to the Pan Pacific location, so my review will relate to those visits. I went for several different treatments on three different visits: Massage, Haircut and also for the Bella Contour treatment. They had a promotional offer for Bella Contour so I thought I'd give it a try. I would not go back for this treatment, as I felt that the results were so minimal that I couldn't justify the cost, even at a deep discount. Perhaps if you have several thousand dollars to put towards this type of service, you might achieve measurable results, but for the one I did try, there was no noticeable difference that would entice me to shell out more money for follow-up visits. The haircut I got at Spa Utopia was extremely disappointing and I would not go back for any hair service there. I booked with a "Master Stylist" but I felt I got a very junior-level quality cut. It was ok, but my stylist seemed so hesitant and unsure of herself when I asked for something 'different'. I left with a shorter version of my exact same haircut, even though I told her I trusted her to give me a new look. Oh well, I guess I will just keep looking for a more confident stylist. The massage service was really amazing, I have to admit. It's hard to critique the quality of service I received, it's just so much more expensive than any massage I've ever received before (20% higher). I know that the cost of the service is indicative of the environment / atmosphere of the place, which is indeed very nice & relaxing, but still... it's not a place I would go on a regular basis. I suppose if I was earning six figures, I would feel differently. I still have another gift card to use here, so I will definitely be back - but when it comes to forking out my own hard-earned cash, I think I'll save that for somewhere I can more easily afford. read more

Had gone to Pan pacific location several times previously for the spa experience including the pool. Booked online and did not see that pool is no longer offered with a spa booking. When inquired they showed me an old print out but it's not currently on the website. Overall the amenities are not hotel spa quality experience without the pool offered. Both the steam and sauna is very outdated with very minimal capacity. There were no snacks offered like other hotel spa. They cited Covid reasons to reducing pool capacity however this is very contradictory to the cleanliness overall in the locker room and considering there were 5-6 people jammed in a 2-3 person steam room. Would not recommend for a hotel spa experience - as other hotels include the pool with spa packages. read more

wife surprised me with a birthday spa treat....this place has got to be one of the nicest spas in the lower main... spa is inside the pan pacific hotel so being a client of the spa allows you to use the pool and hot tub as well. just off the canada line, the location is simly perfect! ambiance of the place felt like you were transported back to roman times. soft gentle music, lots of sunken ceilings and roman pillars. complimentary coffee, tea, artisan tea in a champagne flute, flavoured water, dried fruits & nuts, all part of the ambiance. the change room provides all the amenities one would need like shavers, dryers, curling irons, soft soaps, mouth wash, earbuds, and even contact lens solution. they have thought of everything....including robes, slippers, and lockers.. the attention to detail is superior for sure. massage was above average!l and very relaxing...i was fighting hard not to doze off. although a bit more pressure would've been nice...all the staff wee nice and courteous....made sure all your questions and needs were taken care off. after the massage, complimentary wine awaits you just to help relax you even more. and if course, the hot tub looked very inviting. hot bubbles gently washing the stress away while taking in a million $ view of the north shore mountains. you just cant go wrong with this one! for all these, of course its a bit pricier than most spas...but as with most good things, you get what you pay for! for a once a yr birthday treat! why not! you only live once!!! enjoy!! read more

OMG!!!! I am in LOVE! I received some gift cards for my birthday and bridal shower (they were a couple of weeks apart) for the spa and I was super excited to go as I have never been to a spa before. I went in for the exclusive manicure so that my nails would be nice a pretty for the wedding photos. Since I wasn't showing my feet I didn't get the pedicure but next time I will. Since I had never been there before I got a wee lost when I went in as it's in the basement of the Pan Pacific Hotel. Right by the Cruise ship entrance. When I got there I was greeted by the friendly people at the front desk. It's so beautifully set up and I was in heaven the moment I walked in. When I booked the appointment they advised me that as a spa guest I could use any of the facilities and also could use the hotel's pool. I decided to forgo the pool but I did use the steam room and I loved it. This place is so elegant I wanted to move in. The bathroom has water with cucumbers or lemons, which I had to drink. I am a huge fan of cucumber water. This is also where the steam room is. I was able to get a few minutes in the steam room to myself and used the cold eucalyptus clothes on my face. They are so good if you have a cold and I definitely need to start doing that at home. It was so very relaxing. After 10 or so minutes I went out to the lounge area to partake in their signature drink which I need to make at home. It was Rooibos tea sweetened with apple juice and mint. It was superb and since I grow my own mint it's easy for me to make. It got kind of comical at the time of my appointment as it turned out that there were 3 Catherine's there for spa treatments at the same time. Nothing like getting mixed up. I wish I could remember the lady who did my nails but unfortunately in my wedding fog I have forgotten but what I can tell you is that she was awesome. We talked about everything and never once felt uncomfortable. She also brought me a wine to enjoy while I was getting my nails done. It was a nice little touch for me. When it was done I went back to the lounge and sat for about half an hour with another Rooibos tea. I had a few of these because they were so darned good! I should also mention that there are dried cranberries, dried bananas and almonds to eat as you lounge. Now what makes it only a 4 star review is the toilet paper. Yes, the toilet paper. It's horrible. My lady parts like softness and the toilet paper here does not fit the bill. One would think with the prices here they could afford better. I will be saving up in the future to buy the Costco gift cards so I can go again. Wedding's break the bank so it might take a bit lol. read more

Have never once been let down by this spa in 10 years time. Clean, professional, luxurious...always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.

The massage itself was great. It would have been nice to have a quiet room where no one spoke and I could just relax before or after a massage. The waiting area offers some beverages, dried fruit and nuts for people to snack on. I did not try the sauna or steam room. The hot tub in the pool area was broken. Also, the pool is on a separate floor and I find the pool location not convenient for spa guests. Touch up on make up what offered on the way out. That was a nice gesture. This is a decent spa if you are in the downtown area for the price. read more

Utopia is a fraud you purchase it on Groupon n when you show up they have one thousand excuses not to service you. They real suck!

Having been to pretty well every nice spa in town I can confidently say that Spa Utopia is a solid choice. I tend to visit this location more frequently in the summer than in the winter because of the amazing outdoor pool and deck that you can access as a guest at the spa. It's a massive deck for you to sunbathe on and has an epic view of the water and north shore. The massage therapists here are well trained and the facility is a perfect little hideaway from the daily grind. The change rooms are well kept and all of the staff are friendly and respectful. The men's changeroom has pretty much all your needs for grooming with the exception of hair gel for some reason so I tend to bring my own. Locally this spa sits in my top 5 during the winter and top 3 during the summer. For the price, environment, cleanliness, and amenities, a solid 4 stars. read more

I've only ever been to the downtown location because I'll go there when I have to stay downtown for a night/few. I received many gift cards from my bridal shower, baby shower, birthday, etc. Unfortunately, unlike most spas you CANT use more than one gift card per visit- this is ridiculous- Money is money and I don't want to have to keep going back, especially since it's so out of the way for me. My most recent visit I got a signature pedicure (UV gel) and it is honestly the WORST pedicure I have ever received. For $104, I had expected more. It was uncomfortably dark and in a small room- the pedicurist had to uncomfortably reach over to get her tools constantly & constantly move the light around- there wasn't a massage of any kind. If there was, it was lousy & the individual just didn't look like she knew what she was doing. The massage chair was so loud. I couldn't even see how my nails looked until I got out of the room only to find out the paint was terrible. They were bubbled & after only a few hours they look like they're on the verge of lifting. Save your time and money & DONT get a manicure/pedicure here- you're better off paying $30 for a really good pedi elsewhere. Yes- I Didn't get a manicure but I can only imagine how horrific (& frustrating) that would be based on my pedi experience. The only good things I've had experience with from this location: the front desk staff are nice enough, although have an entitled edge to them. They have a clean, quiet sitting area with snacks & refreshments (oh but the lock on a toilet stall wasn't working). The staff are on top of people not talking on their phones. The change room is clean & appears to be attended to. I like how you can spend 3 hours prior &/or after whatever treatment just relaxing in their quiet area. I've had decent facials here & the aesthetician was sweet & wasn't pushy with sales. If it weren't for these, they would only get a 1-star from me. One thing's for sure, any gift cards I receive for this spa I'll be selling. read more

I prefer the North Vancouver location more than this one. The change rooms are cramped and there weren't many (if any?) windows since it's on the cruise ship level. The service was the same though. Bonus is you get access to the outdoor pool at the Pan Pacific so bring swimsuits! RMTs vary at this place. As always just don't be afraid to speak up if the pressure isn't ideal. Have been before and they were fine, but this was horrendous! Worst pedicure ever, done by a masseuse?!? I spent 1.5h getting a terrible paint job, all over toes, uneven, nails filed unevenly, dead skin not taken from feet, and I am now going to have to pay someone else to undo, then redo what she did. For $88, probably should have someone who knows what they are doing, and if not, she should have at least told me that she didn't know how to do it and given me a chance to walk out. For the price of the services, the ambiance reflects that, but the customer service...not so much. A friend and I treated ourselves to New Years manicure and massages yesterday and the girls at the reception as well as the front desk in the service area act like you're a nuisance. They weren't unkind or anything, but they definitely waited until we initiated conversation or asked a question before directing us where to go. For example there were two girls at the front desk, one girl was helping another customer, the other one was free and not busy. I had to ask if we could check in with her and she said "yeah sure" rather then invite us to come check in with her. There were two of us and they kept mixing our names up and they were confused as to why my friend hadn't signed her form that they emailed to her twice. She said she never received the form and the staff member said "well we sent it twice". My friend politely asked them to check the spelling of her name as there are many ways to spell it. Of course they spelled it wrong and didn't apologize for making her feel bad for not signing the form before hand. When she asked where the bathroom was when we got in, the lady said "I thought you said you've been here before" in a serious tone. It was the same on the way out too, she gave me my total of services and then asked how I would be paying. I said with a gift card and my MasterCard but they were in my jacket pocket that they checked in for me. Without saying anything, she opened the jacket closet to my right and pointed and said "which one". She was very unwelcoming. A part from the customer service, the steam room was amazing, as was my massage from Clara! She was wonderful. My manicurist was so friendly and warm, although, she did a pretty terrible job on my nails which I did not notice until I got to the car because it is so dark in there. Unfortunately I will never go back to get my nails done because they charge over $100 for a gel manicure and I've received countless other manicures for $25-$35 and a much better quality. I am not writing Spa Utopia off for good, I will just continue to be a regular visitor at the Langley location. Please review standards of quality customer service and techniques with your staff and you will receive many more positive reviews and return clients. read more

Came for a spa date with a girl friend The RMT/ front desk are very professional and kind - despite us being a few minutes late The ambiance is superb. Beautiful, decorated very nicely, and there is someone constantly cleaning up dirty glasses etc They USED to have so many toiletries available for the spa guests to use, much of which has been taken away (bobby pins, tampons to name a few). Things like face wash need to be asked for at the front desk when this too used to be available... The snacks in the serenity room have always seen delightful: rooibus tea is my all time fave in the flute with a dash of apple juice mint and lemon There is no parking validation if you park at Canada Place. I was there for 2hours and paid $23 for parking. Extremely pricy - park elsewhere to save a few bucks Another tip would be to buy a Costco gift card (max 1gc per customer) to save yourself $20 as the treatments are pricy!!! Enjoy! read more

Honestly it probably was the worst facial I have ever gotten and I spa frequently. I do not recommend this spa to anyone. The decoration was beautiful the staff was friendly, the service and products used were absolutely horrid. They may as well have rubbed a bunch of different creams on my face and called It a facial. No use of a good mask, the steam machine was absolutely ancient, the comforter was thin, and cheap... the room was okay. The only thing decent was the bed settings, and the woman was friendly. She ducked at extractions, her choice of customized treatment was awful. I have a remaining $80 gift card balance, and I think I'll find some products to hopefully spend the rest on. Ok, so full disclosure here... I've been a huge fan of Spa Utopia for years. It was my favourite spa in the city. Loved the ambiance, the quiet, relaxation, steam/sauna; all good. But on my most recent visit I wasn't as happy with the experience. The fresh orchids they used to place everywhere are gone, the warm down-like comforters on the treatment beds have been replaced with what I can only describe as hospital-like blankets and they seem to just try to pack people in now. It's not as clean or well maintained as it once was and the quality has gone down. Not only was I disappointed with the overall experience, I felt a little short changed with my treatment. It just wasn't the blissful 75 minute escape it used to be. The room was too cold, there was no aromatherapy (just scentless massage oil) and I didn't walk out floating on a cloud of relaxation. Sadly, I'm going to have to find a new 'favourite' spa. read more

Great spa for the ammenities, but not for the quality of services offered... I just wish Vancouver would just have an all in one spa, that delivers on service as well as having all the amenities. I've been able to find ones that have incredible service, but lacked the high class amenities that Utopia has. Had a facial, and it was nothing special. I had facials (general one) in other countries and in the States, but I think they really missed the quality expected for such a high end place. I have extremely sensitive skin & thought they were going to use the answers that was completed before the facial, but they didn't. I broke out in red blotches when they used a cream that was not suitable for my skin. Later she used a more mild cream after seeing the reaction. I thought I was getting a 'custom' facial and ended up with the exactly the same one as my friend-which was a 'rejuvenation' facial. They used the same cream & procedures. For skipping the crucial step of understanding my skin type and asking basic questions like in my previous experiences, I was not impressed with the quality of service delivered. Spa Utopia as a chain is always lovely. This location is great to go to during the day, when you aren't fighting with everyone for the steam room. There is something lovely about having the steam room and sauna to yourself - make sure you go early! Our nail technicians were good (mine was Carmen) and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We were even able to get a room to ourselves (for my girlfriend and I) to get pedicures in a separate room at the same time. I still love the North Van location more though - the relaxation area is a bit more spacious and the steam room definitely is larger there. read more

If you're ok with shortened services, poor management of expectations, and an incompetent manager named Beverly at the Pan Pacific location- then this place is for you! I received 3 contradictory responses regarding the timing of their massage service. When I discussed the inconsistency with the manager, rather than clarify and apologize - she preferred to be defensive, made erroneous assumptions, and actually said all 3 reps were correct, which logically can't be true based on the info. I get massages every 2 weeks for years including when I travel-which is extensively and internationally. This is the first time, I experienced a manager who's responses were illogical and not towards a peaceful resolution. Instead of appreciating my business, she treated me like a problem. With their pricey services, I expect a FULL service time and superior customer service. They failed on both fronts. I wasn't even looking for remuneration for their communication errors- just an apology, acknowledgement, and clarification. FYI, the service time begins when they pick you up from the waiting room, not when they begin the massage. My 50 mins massage turned out to be approximately 40 mins hands on by the time they picked me up, walked me to the room, consulted me, and left the room to disrobe and finally return for the actual massage. This wasn't clear when I booked and when I inquired, I received 3 different responses from separate reps. Apparently, the simple question was too copious for the team and the Manager- Beverly's, comprehension. If you're ok with paying almost $4 a minute for a mediocre massage, this place is perfect for you. Otherwise, with these price points- I'd rather go to Chi Spa at the Shangri-La, where they absolutely know what superior service is all about. read more

After my kind boss treated all of his female staff to the spa in dec 2014 (I was sick that day) I have to say I was prepared to be skeptical and negative after hearing how my platonic co-workers were made to undress in front of one another at their appointment instead of being offered separate change rooms. That and when I arrived early today and having never been here before, was directed by the lobby info desk that I could go down the stairs or elevator (I chose stairs) and then took a left to get lost in no-mans land. Frustrated I back tracked and accidently located it. Not the best relaxing start. And then today during the appointment the lovely technician suggests that I could have come hours and hours early to use the 5th floor(?) salt water baths (free for spa attendees and hotel guests). Why hasn't anyone told me during my reservation? Anyhow. Once I arrived (exhale) and the sweet desk person took my coat and scarf and checked my two new toothbrush packages for the two friends I'm meeting later (she said she would put them in her managers office) I finally was ready for the relaxation to commence. A quick tour, a towel, locker and spa slippers to wear I quickly changed with 7 minutes to spare and then sat rope wrapped in the relaxation area where dries fruit and tea and water stations along with couches and magazines were situated. Robin arrived after I made a quick bathroom visit and she then escorted me to a room down many a hallway. I had a full body wrap with foot massage over scalp (my hair was up and I figured feet would be easier), a shower and then lotion rub down. I loved it. Wow. I wished I were rich so I could come back more often. (This was my first time to a spa) Check them out! read more

Came here with my sister and mom for a girls' day out. I'm not a spa person, but I definitely enjoyed my swanky experience here and felt refreshed and relaxed by the end of it. Clean and extensive facilities with a steam room, sauna, showers, bath robe, towel and slippers included. Not to mention they have refreshments (think teas, dried fruit and nuts) in the lounge for pre- and post-massage. You're paying a premium for this place, so although I had expectations, they definitely met them. Expect to be taken care of here. Pro tip: at Costco they sell gift vouchers for $320 for $400 worth, so save some money and bring a friend while you're at it. read more
