Book Tony. That's it. That's all. That's the review!!!…read more I typically visit every three months for an 80-minute hot stone massage and was previously seeing Gabe (unfortunately, he's no longer with Woodhouse). Gabe was fantastic--he always listened to my needs and paid extra attention to the areas that needed it most. This time, I was paired with Tony and OMG--he was amazing! You know a massage is good when you catch yourself snoring? That was me, LOL. Tony provided the perfect amount of pressure and, like Gabe, really listened to my concerns and focused on the areas I needed most. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend!

I visited Woodhouse Spa Walnut Creek on Sunday, July 19, with a friend. I had a facial, and my…read morefriend had a massage that I had purchased as a birthday gift using an online gift card that I purchased in October of last year. Both the facial and the massage were enjoyable, and we were happy with the services we received. Unfortunately, the experience at the front desk completely overshadowed our visit. When we checked out, my friend was told she owed the full amount for her massage. I explained that I had purchased the online gift card in October of last year. The front desk immediately asked for the confirmation email. I explained that the purchase had been made months earlier, I no longer had the email readily available, and that when I called before our appointment, I had been told we did not need to bring the confirmation because they would be able to look it up. Instead of trying to help, I was told that wasn't how they handled gift cards and that they had no way to look it up. Rather than feeling supported, the interaction became unnecessarily uncomfortable and felt more like I was being questioned than assisted. The staff came across as rude, disorganized, and unprofessional, showing very little interest in finding a solution. Ironically, after insisting they couldn't look up the gift card, they eventually searched under my name, even though the gift card was for my friend, and found it. Then, after processing everything, they initially told my friend she still owed $100. When I said I would pay it, they responded, "Oh, sorry, correction, you actually have a $100 credit." That level of confusion only reinforced how disorganized the checkout process was. When it came time to pay for my facial, I was then asked, "Would you like to just do the customary 20%?" Rather than presenting tipping options or allowing me to decide for myself, the question felt presumptive and added to the uncomfortable experience. To top it all off, immediately after everything we had just gone through, we were asked if we'd like to rebook another massage. After the experience we had at the front desk, it felt completely tone deaf. There was no genuine apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. The treatments themselves were good, but customer service is an important part of the overall spa experience. Unfortunately, the disorganized, dismissive, and unprofessional interactions at the front desk overshadowed what should have been a relaxing day. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the quality of customer service did not reflect the quality of the spa treatments.

This has been my go-to spot for years! Appointments are easy to come by and I can get a 2 hour…read moremassage combo for ~$100 (1 hour foot; 1 hour full body). Bring cash for better pricing. Keep in mind that is not your typical massage place. Foot massages are done in a big open room with space for 10+ people. They usually separate you a bit if space allows. Full body massages are done in private rooms.

Weird since I booked an appt but whatev. They then took me to the foot massage room which was empty. An older gentleman was to help me for my foot massage. This is where it gets ho-hum. He went to get the pot of water and put my feet in the water (he didn't ask if the temp was okay or anything). He then went back to chit chat for a bit before taking my feet out of water, wrapping them both up and putting them on the ottoman and leaving to dump the water. I then put my airpods in and waited. And waited. 5 mins later he came and started on the massage. The massage honestly was more like a rub. I felt like he was scratching me from time to time. He also didn't speak English and when I asked him to give firm pressure he completely stopped and had to go get someone to translate. However he still didn't give stronger pressure. OMG. I just tried to relax but it wasn't fulfilling. It was also cold in the room. He also didn't touch either of my big toes or massage them out. WEIRD. After this foot rub, he then told me "Ok full body" and didn't say anything else like where I was going or what. At this point I was so confused but I asked for a female for the full body experience. When I went into the room it was COLD and BRIGHT! The woman didn't ask anything about pressure or no no spots or anything. It was so cold in there. She also applied cold lotion - geez. The massage was just okay. Overall my experience was so so - I wish they would have known I was coming, had dimmed the lights, have staff that speak fluent English so we can ask for things to the actual masseuse helping us and that they would use warmed lotion and have the heat on, on cold days. Also a massage is not a RUB down. A 2 hour massage should elicit a nice nap, and feelings of relaxation not uncertainty when you are finished. I tipped 18% and the guy at the counter looked at me weird, as if I left $5. I was turned off completely by this attitude. They assume they are doing a good job maybe? I don't know if I will be back. There is hefty competition in the area and I don't know if its worth it.

I had a wonderful experience at Sanctuary and can't recommend it enough…read more I received a massage from one of Kristin's students, and I was genuinely impressed by the level of care and skill. The pressure was just right, and she intuitively found areas of tension I didn't even realize I was holding. I felt a noticeable difference not only immediately after, but in the days that followed. It's clear that Kristin has created a space where therapists are thoughtfully trained and supported; there's a high level of professionalism and presence that really comes through. The space itself is peaceful and calming. I'll admit I was briefly confused when I arrived since it's located on the second floor, but once inside, everything felt welcoming, organized, and serene. They were ready for me right on time, and the whole experience felt smooth and intentional from start to finish. If you're looking for a place where you'll be genuinely cared for and in good hands, Sanctuary is absolutely worth a visit.
