That morning, I got a call and text message that my masseuse would be a bit late - I definitely appreciated the warning. Arriving at the lobby, which is located in the 3rd tower, there was no front desk person. It seems you sit there until they bring you back to the relaxation room. Both the relaxation room and the service room are converted hotel rooms - so they are spacious. However, the relaxation room is immediately by the hallway and you can very clearly hear loud guests walking by and housekeeping rolling carts back and forth; there was no music or sound machine to help soften the noise either. For the service room, they have light blocking shades, so it is appropriately dim - but it is also on the side where the hotel pool is, so you can hear the thumping of the music coming in a bit. I was given water and brought back by another staff member, which I appreciated. Ultimately, my masseuse was late by 13 mins and, by the time the room was set up, we started 30 minutes late. Thankfully, I had nothing going on later that day. Finally, when my service started my masseuse, Lizzie, was fantastic; she asked what she should concentrated on and actually listened to me; nor did she push enhancements on me that I didn't want. While the location of the spa is not ideal - my actual massage with Lizzie was definitely worth the wait. It was truly one of the best massages I've ever had. The table was comfortable and heated; calming music was played; she answered questions about what she was noticing in my muscles; and she used a variety of props to elevate the experience, like an eye mask, a heating pad, a neck pillow and more. If I could, I would give the spa itself three stars - but Lizzie would get an overwhelming 5 stars!

I am writing this review specifically to warn other women, because what I experienced at Universal…read moreDay Spa & Massage was extremely inappropriate, unsettling, and unsafe. I came in yesterday around 2:30 PM for a scheduled massage. The business appeared normal at first -- I checked in with an Asian woman at the front desk, filled out the pressure/preferences form, and was taken back to the massage room. The massage began with the same woman who checked me in. Everything seemed typical for the first few minutes. However, about 15 minutes into the session, the woman abruptly left the room without warning. While I was undressed on the massage table, an unknown adult male entered the room and took over the massage. I want to be very clear: I was never told this would happen and I never gave consent for a man to enter the room or perform the massage. I was face down on the table and had no idea who had walked in. I did not even see him until later when I was turned over. The man did not appear to be a licensed massage therapist. He was wearing business attire -- dress slacks, a button-down shirt, and brown dress shoes -- not professional massage clothing. He also wore strong cologne. The massage itself did not match what I requested (I asked for deep tissue) and instead felt like inappropriate rubbing/caressing rather than therapeutic massage work. When I turned over, I was shocked to realize I was completely exposed while this man stood over me fully dressed. I felt extremely uncomfortable and confused, but also scared to abruptly leave in the moment. At the end of the session, while I was still naked on the table, the man asked if I wanted to go next door for a drink. This was completely unacceptable and inappropriate behavior in any professional setting. What made the situation even worse is that after the massage ended, I waited inside because I did not feel safe leaving. When I finally walked out, the man was still outside in the parking lot near his vehicle, watching and smiling. He appeared to leave in an older blue Corvette, which made the entire situation feel even more disturbing, like he may not even be a legitimate employee there. This experience felt predatory and violating. No woman should ever have a male enter her massage session without explicit consent, and no client should ever be solicited or made to feel unsafe afterward. I strongly urge other women to avoid this business.

While I had a good experience, it was very basic and missed the mark on luxury for me. I used Disney transportation to get to the spa and it took almost 2 hours to get from my resort (Pop Century) to the spa - allow plenty of time to get there! I thought the spa was hard to find. There's not a lot of signage and it is not inside the resort. You will need to walk outside to the separate spa building. The Cast Members were all wonderful. I was given an in-depth tour of the facilities and left to change into the comfiest robe ever. Unfortunately, there were no seats available in the lounge so I had to stand until post-service guests left. There were lots of people talking loudly or even taking phone calls inside the locker room which detracted from the experience. My massage was $200 plus tip for 50 minutes. I thought this was pretty expensive and I was disappointed that it was not a very luxurious experience. The lotion used was ice cold and my therapist was a little loose with the draping which sometimes made me feel very exposed. The massage itself was nice, with good pressure, but I thought it was on the same level as what I get at my local spa for $85. Overall, this was just an okay experience and not a great value. I don't think I'd come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.
