So four days past my due date, I finally decided to cash in on this elivelife.com certificate for a pregnancy massage that my boyfriend purchased for me. I called and left a message on the phone number listed, Chris promptly called me back within half an hour and I was able to schedule an appointment for my massage for the next day. The building in which her office is located is easy to find, next to Sushi Ota, in the same building as Planned Parenthood. Parking is a beezy though so I would get there early, or avoid scheduling your massage around lunch time (mine was 1pm on a Friday afternoon... bad timing for sure). What made this a four star experience for me was that Chris still gave me my hour massage even though I showed up 20 minutes late (I mis-read the address and thought her office was on Mission Blvd - not mission bay dr. and ended up getting stuck in Garnet ave traffic - Fail!). She was friendly and professional, and I felt very relaxed post-massage. The only complaint I have is that when I booked my appt over the phone with her, she told me the gratuity for the massage would be $20... the elivelife certificate stated it was $16.. but when I brought it up she said she would take the $16 even though she said she had "talked with the owners of elivelife and it should have been changed" and she preferred $20. I've never heard of a 25% automatic gratuity for any service, and at first I thought it was very bad customer service to pretty much expect a $20 "tip". However, she was accommodating about my lateness, so I felt the extra $4 was fine. I was excited to find something nearby to choose from so I called right away and made my appointment. I have pregnancy brain so the next day I called back to confirm my appt, so I can't believe she still botched my appt time. The day of my appt, I got to the place 15 mins early, ready to get my massage on. I called Chris to let me in the building. You cannot enter the building unless someone comes out to get you. She didn't answer her phone so I left her a message to let her know that I am outside waiting for her to come get me. 15 minutes later, my scheduled appt time - still no reply so I called again to let her know I am still waiting outside and to please give me a call to let me know if she is running late. No reply, so I sat in my car for about 20 mins more. Still no reply so I left extremely disappointed and needing to use the restroom. I wasted a total of 40 mins of my precious weekend. I was so disappointed. What a very unprofessional experience to be stood up after confirming the appt. Chris Bliss finally called and left me a message the next day apologizing for the mix up. She put me down for a different date than confirmed. I understand that these things can happen but being in a service oriented business, she should really be more careful about booking appts - especially when customer called to confirm. She said I can still come in for the appt she have me down for but after being stood up I know I would not be relaxed during a massage there.
