The location and distance were known when the appointment was accepted. On the day of my appointment, 2 hours prior, Yoli canceled at the last minute, citing safety concerns over a coastal flood warning in San Diego. However, the warning she referenced wasn't even scheduled to take effect until the following day and concerned coastal flooding from unusually high tides, not hazardous driving conditions along the inland route to my home. To make matters even more frustrating, it was a beautiful, sunny day with no rain. This wasn't a situation involving storms, heavy rainfall, or dangerous driving conditions that I was aware of. The warning specifically concerned coastal areas vulnerable to high tides and waves, not the roads leading to my home in Ramona. Despite my pointing out that the warning wasn't even in effect that day, she maintained that the drive was too risky and canceled, leaving me without the service I had scheduled and planned my day around. I completely respect anyone's right to prioritize their safety, but I also expect a business owner to understand the warnings they're referencing and honor appointments they've committed to, particularly when customers are paying additional fees to accommodate travel. What makes this especially frustrating is that the distance was known and agreed upon in advance. If traveling to Ramona was a concern, the appointment should never have been accepted. Unfortunately, this experience left me with serious concerns about the reliability and professionalism of this business. I won't be booking again.

Thai Health Massage Salon is located on the third floor of a professional building in the same strip mall as Sushi Ota in PB. Panida, the owner, provides a massage using a modality of your choice (e.g. Thai, shiatsu, Swedish, sports, hot stone, etc) or a mix of any of these. Sessions are booked by appointment only. You can do that online using the website or by calling the phone number and leaving a voicemail if she doesn't answer. Park in one of the two hour spaces in the front or back of the building. The suite has a private room where the massage can be performed on a table (my preference) or a mattress on the floor. The setting is very comfortable with dim lighting and soft instrumental music. Panida asks you which area(s) you want to have worked on. She also frequently checks to make sure you are comfortable. The amount of pressure she can apply with her hands or feet can be significant if you can tolerate the discomfort. As a bonus, Panida can add cupping or hot stones to your massage if you ask. There is no surcharge for these extra components. Some stretching exercises are usually incorporated near the end of a session. The price for a 60 or 90 minute massage is very comparable to those offered in the nearby area. You may even get a discount and/or extra minutes from Panida if you become a regular customer. A little while back, she added a salon setup to the suite if you are seeking that type of service. This place is really a hidden gem. I would highly recommend Panida's capabilities to anyone looking for a massage.

What made this a four star experience for me was that Chris still gave me my hour massage even though I showed up 20 minutes late (I mis-read the address and thought her office was on Mission Blvd - not mission bay dr. and ended up getting stuck in Garnet ave traffic - Fail!). She was friendly and professional, and I felt very relaxed post-massage. The only complaint I have is that when I booked my appt over the phone with her, she told me the gratuity for the massage would be $20... the elivelife certificate stated it was $16.. but when I brought it up she said she would take the $16 even though she said she had "talked with the owners of elivelife and it should have been changed" and she preferred $20. I've never heard of a 25% automatic gratuity for any service, and at first I thought it was very bad customer service to pretty much expect a $20 "tip".
