She did a great job as well. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his experience. Masseur started with my head, face, neck (covered my eyes with a towel), shoulders and arms. Afterwards, he dried my feet from soaking in a bucket of warm water and massage them for about 20 minutes (that was my fav). Then, Lee had me turn face down. He worked on my shoulders some more. To conclude the session, he rubbed my entire body for a few minutes. $35 for an hour massage. I am game. Suggestions - Wish I would've gotten more lotion to make my massage smoother. Love this place !! I used to go years ago all the time. I would do the clothed massages with the foot detox. Such a healing and relaxing experience. It was my early twenties hangover cure! I recently moved back into the area and went with my partner for a date night. We did the couple massage and it was amazing! Haven't been to many places since COVID and it had been such a long time since I had been there I wasn't sure what to expect. It was extremely clean, comfortable (the beds were warm and very soft with fresh, crisp white linen), and our massages were probably the best we've ever had. You can't beat the prices either. I've been to Pacific Relax Spa dozens of times over a period of 4-5 years. Never once had a bad massage session or any kind of scheduling/time conflict. The front desk person is always friendly, and the therapists know what they are doing! This is a solid 4.5/5 review for me, only deducting .5 stars because the face cradles aren't 100% comfortable for longer sessions. Pick somewhere else. Not relaxing at all, I left feeling more stressed than ever. Uncomfortable tables, freezing bare bones room. No paperwork or preferences asked. Full body Massage was seriously terrible. It felt like she had never given one in her life (and also, they rubbed my face with a bunch of lotion directly after touching my feet??). Could hear everything through the walls so it was not relaxing, and the ladies were whispering to each other over me and my partner during the treatment. Two stars bc my partner said their massage was decent, so maybe it depends on who you get for the actual service. Do not recommend coming here. Came for a relaxing couples massage and not only were we rushed in, there was no paperwork, no questions about what we we're comfortable with, or not comfortable with. I asked for a deep tissue massage and it was so fast and hurt so bad I had to tell him to be lighter. He was not able to issue my muscle pain and did repetitive hurting motions. The lady who was doing my girlfriends massage was relaxing but too light and not quality. We thanked them anyways and went to the counter to pay and the girl at the front counter was very upset that we only left her a $15 dollar tip?! She started getting very angry and said "excuse me only 15?!" We had to leave because we felt so uncomfortable. We learned our lesson coming here you get what you pay for. I had an hour massage from Yu-yu today and it was the best full body massage I've had in a really really long time! The pressure was perfect, I never had to ask for more or less. Very inconsistent. Very cheap. Either you get a pretty good massage or the worst you've ever had depending on the time and day. Tonight is going to be the last time I come in... the masseur legit wore rubber gloves during a foot massage. He didn't seem to be excited at all to do his job, which made for an awkward and unpleasant experience. He wanted the thing to be over as much as I did- which I can't say that I've experienced at a massage parlor up until this point. Cut short by about 10 minutes. Then, when all was said and done, he asked for a tip. The first few times I went here the foot massages were pretty good, but nothing to be excited about. I've been here a few times. I always go in the community room ($35). Pretty cheap so you get what you pay for, but it's a nice little pick me up for your muscles. They dim the lights and there's usually no one ever in there when I go. They start by placing your feet in warm water with a face/ head massage then neck arms feet and compressions on the rest of the body. Very upset after getting a 1 hour massage here. First off, I asked if it was clothed or unclothed and the lady told me no clothes. The massage therapist brought me in to a large room with all the massage tables for the reflexology which was clothed. It's fine, not a huge deal, for a $35 massage I didn't mind even though I was looking for a private full body massage. The massage therapist asked me for soft or hard, I said soft because I am pregnant. He did a good job until I turned over onto my stomach (in my first trimester so it's fine for me to be on my stomach). He was doing it so extremely hard and deep tissue, I asked him to do it softer and he would for a few seconds and do it harder. I did not want a deep tissue nor hard massage. It was so annoying that I contemplated on telling him to stop but I was hoping that it was over soon, even though I told him about three times to do it softer. When I got up from the massage my lower back was hurting really bad and I had to sit up for a few seconds because my stomach started hurting from all the pressure. I felt like I was going to throw up. Side note- throughout the entire massage, I heard so much talking from the reception area. Apparently the wall and door connects you to that area. I could hear a baby crying, eating, people talking for about 80% of the massage. How annoying!!! The massage room was empty! They could have put me farther away from that door/wall so I didn't have to hear everything going on in the reception area. After the massage, I went to pay. I ask the lady if they did prenatal massages, she said no. I was just curious because the guy clearly had no idea that you shouldn't do deep tissue when you're pregnant. I told her that the massage was really hard and it hurt me, she told me that I should have told her I was pregnant. I told her over the phone and I told the massage therapist three times. I was so zoned out I ended up tipping the therapist, I wish I didn't. Now my lower back hurts and I'm upset I wasted my time and money at this place. If you are looking for a cheap massage with lots of background noise, then this place is for you. I definitely will not be back here. read more

I want to love this place. I've gone here several times over the years as I live very close. However, the fact remains, the holes for your head in the tables are too small. Myself and every friend I've taken here to get a massage and "relax" ends up nearly choking to death. It is extremely uncomfortable, and you end up spending most of the time figuring out how you will take your next breath or not have your larynx crushed as they massage you from behind. If the owner's would put some money back into this place (odds being between 0% - 1%) and upgrade their tables or do something (anything) to correct this problem I would again be a happy customer. Probably the best massage I've received, so far! My friends gifted my boyfriend and me a Groupon for Pacific Relax and Spa for a 60-minute couples massage (valued at $69 - tip not included). I made an appointment beforehand and we were serviced right away when arrived. The receptionist led us into a small room with two beds and dimmed lights. Past massage places that I've been to, we were able to keep our clothes on, but she told us that we had to take our clothes off. We were a little bit uncomfortable about it, so we both kept our bottoms on. Note: there is a blanket to cover you up the whole time! But I understand why we would need to be fully undressed because the masseuse was able to massage the body completely and it was definitely a better experience than my previous ones. Although, the negative I would say is that the walls are pretty thin. You're able to hear noise and conversations from outside that could be distracting. Other than that, the massage was very relaxing and my masseuse was the best! We went in with a Groupon and my boyfriend and I agreed that we would come back again! read more

Love this place, I go a couple times a month! I've been an Asian foot reflexology massage believer for years now - I have SUCH a better experience with places like this than your standard massage/spa location. Cannot recommend these places enough. That said, some are better than others.. this one is definitely on the better side of the spectrum!! That said, every masseuse is a little different and there are one's I prefer over others - but that's the case with anyone/anything, isn't it? Some thoughts for the spa: - Leo should use more lotion, especially on arms/hands. It would improve the experience with him dramatically! - I wish Jack had a little bit more of a medical approach, sometimes I wonder if he knows enough about anatomy. - The oldest guy there, who may no longer be there because I haven't seen him in awhile, is EXCELLENT. On our six year anniversary, and our 1st year marriage anniversary (same date for us) my husband took me here to get a massage. He chose this place due to all of the positive reviews here on yelp. But I'm afraid my experience wasn't all that great. We wanted a couple's massage type experience, and we were surprised to find there was no offering of one. I REALLY just think the man at the desk didn't want to understand or accept that we were a gay couple. He mentioned something about us being able to do it together, and when we got excited and were like "yeah, we'd love to" he laughed like it was a joke and said they don't offer that. It's the same price for two. So we each ended up in different rooms. At this point, I was a little put off, but I've never had a full body massage before. Maybe it's always this way. I got undressed and went face down in the table. The masseuse came in, said "hello" flatly, and asked if I want medium our firm pressure. I said firm. And she got started. No introduction. No other words were spoken. Isn't there supposed to be some sort of interview process? What if I had some medical conditions, or trouble places? This was walk in, get naked, go face down, get started. I don't even know the name of the person who massaged me. The beginning of the massage took me a bit by surprise as the masseuse started with her feet. I'm not complaining here. It WAS admittedly strange at first, but she clearly knew what she was doing, and it felt great. It's important to note she didn't just walk on my back and legs. There is a support or "pull up" bar that's above the bed she was able to use for leverage and balance. At the conclusion of my massage it was VERY CLEAR the gentleman in the front, nor the masseuses, realized or cared to realize we are a married gay couple. That we were there to celebrate our anniversary. .... Smh.... Let's just say the service offered was just VERY inappropriate. I'm sure a straight/single man (watch bringing your husbands) would have been more "happy" than I was. That's all I can say about that. Terribly unprofessional. At least gage your customers. Overall I'm grateful to my husband for my massage, and my actual massage overall was good, but ultimately felt VERY uncomfortable, and they demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism. We will not be returning. And we will not recommend anyone to this establishment. The price is really cheap so I was hopeful that the massage would be decent and the whole experience was HORRIBLE. My boyfriend and I went in for massages and they put us in the same room. Not what I was expecting, but fine. About 20 minutes into our massages, the San Diego PD came into check their permits. One girl tried to run out of the back door and got caught. It turns out that the ladies giving our massages didn't have proper permits and had to leave. We waited for almost an hour in the massage room listening while they were getting grilled about why they don't have the proper licenses. The whole thing was super SHADY. We should have just left, but then 2 other people came in to finish the massages. The massage was POOR to mediocre at best. By the end of it we thought we would at least be offered a discount or something for the whole ordeal. They still charged us full price?! Spend an extra few dollars and go some place reputable. Came here while on vacation and used Yelp to find this place. Overall, the place was set up well, the staff was friendly. Background, I get a massage almost weekly, sometimes at a local foot massage place down the street, sometimes at a spa. I'm not a fan of paying a ton of money if I can get just as good of service but I also just appreciate those foot massage places that take into account that you don't want to walk away with a bad experience. The massage was good, not great. Something to consider: - They do use oil, but instead of using a washcloth to remove the oil, they instead use the sheet covering you to "wipe" you off which really means just rubbing your skin with a sheet, and then laying the sheet back over you. This hasn't been my experience anywhere else so it was a bit different for me, not a bad thing if you don't mind. I probably wouldn't enjoy it again. - I saw someone else mentioned this as well but the woman giving me a massage had a cough, which is to be expected I guess, no one can be healthy all the time. But she did sneeze on my leg, and I felt it land on my leg. Which, was kinda gross. It would have been nice if she turned her head, maybe that's being picky but I just didn't find it to be enjoyable. Behold the hidden gem in Pacific Beach... My last massage was with Eric, who is phenomenal. I've been there three times and everyone is great, but he puts you on cloud nine. For months I've had a dull ache in my left baby toe; after he cracked my toes it was completely gone. He also gets really into the foot reflexology, stretching, and back knots so the effects last long after the massage. If you spend considerable time on your feet and have a sore back or symptoms of carpal tunnel, this place will make you feel 1000 times better. I work as a casino dealer and like to get massages and pedicures at least once a month to reduce bodily tension caused by repetitive motions. If you're looking for a no-frills, highly affordable and therapeutic place to get a massage, this is it. They definitely know what they're doing. As for the establishment, the massage beds are comfortable and everything is clean. I usually get the $25 massage in the group room and wind up tipping $15-20 because the service is well worth it! You keep all your clothes on and just roll up your pants for the reflexology massage. If you prefer a more private experience I believe it's $45 for a more conventional spa treatment in a separate room. The group room is pretty serene but if it's busy sometimes you'll hear people come in and out or talking through the wall by the front desk. Bang for your buck- 10/10 Quality of massage- 10/10 Comfort- 10/10 Noise level/environment-7/10 The only reason I gave PRS four stars is because the last time I went Eric left the door leading to the front room slightly open. Because he never shut it, daylight leaked in and I could hear everything going on by the front desk which was distracting and annoying. Sometimes the employees have short conversations in the group room too but they're pretty quiet. Hopefully the door thing was a one-time occurrence.
