Sushi tasted fresh, and I'm talking from a standpoint where I live in San Francisco and have had sushi in Hawaii and other key geographies where they were close to the water and had very fresh fish. I'm very sorry to hear other people had a bad service experience as mine was excellent. I never thought to have good sushi in Dresden, Germany - since they are not known for this dish.

I'm very surprised about the average of only three stars for all the previous reviews, although…read moreit's very laborious for me to read German and therefore I'm not going to bother reading those reviews. Anyway; we had a mid-afternoon lunch/dinner there yesterday and we were very pleased. For only *8.90 euros/person* (from 12-5 p.m.), they have an "all you can eat" arrangement. It's not a buffet because the food isn't on a table and you only take a small amount at-a-time, but it works nicely. What happens is that all of the (two-person) tables are adjacent to a sort of conveyer belt (within easy arm's reach). The food circles by the tables and it has two little sliding glass "doors" above each table. When you see something you want, you open the nearest glass "door" and take it. The refrigeration is maintained by keeping the glass "doors" closed. The selection was good, the food was delicious (I only ate sushi, but my husband also ate some of the other dishes and he said everything was really good) and the restaurant seemed quite clean. The young man who greeted us was pleasant, and he readily agreed to bring us tap water (a big issue for us in Germany, as I've previously alluded to).

At one point he said something about us "needing the bill in Spanish", which we took as a jab. Not friendly, dude! So, even though the food was good enough, the experience with the unfriendly waiter was too much to overlook. 3 stars for food, 1 star for the service = an average of 2 stars.
