I settled on a pasta roll with "vegetable bread" that was served with chanterelle mushrooms. The description was odd and I didn't know what to expect. I even asked one of my traveling companions, a native German speaker, to translate the German menu item in case it just didn't translate well. I was thinking maybe it was seitan or a vegetarian "meat"loaf inside something like cannelloni? He translated it the same way. I ordered it partly out of curiosity and partly out of love for mushrooms. I'm glad I did. The dish is actually perfectly described. There is a bread-like filling with veggies in it, rolled up inside of a flat pasta and sliced. It was topped with chanterelles and salad greens. It was really good. My boyfriend ordered the campanelle with apples and gorgonzola and it was decadent and amazing. We visited in June so we sat outside. They have seating out front in addition to a patio in back. The space in back was full so we sat in front. It was pleasant enough. They had a nice wine list so I tried a Grauburgunder (apparently pinot grigio) at the recommendation of one of our traveling companions. I liked it.
