Acia bowl and popa smoothie! Best in Anchorage

Every time we are in Anchorage we come to this place to get our popa smoothie fix! The best because I love the fresh fruits, fresh popa, fresh acia bowl too!

    Jasmine I.

We found our new boba spot! SoYo is located in the strip mall closest to McDonald's Huffman. There was one worker today, likely the owner. She was fast and efficient. We didn't have time to sit down, and SoYo isn't allowing dine-in at this time any way, so...no biggie. SoYo makes deliciously satisfying drinks. My pre-teen went for a mangonada that was as aesthetically pleasing, as it was fresh and tasty. We also had to try their Thai tea with boba, and their ube smoothie. Wow! We love fresh flavors. I can't wait to return to try their açaí bowls, soft serve, elotes, and other drink offerings.

Black milk tea light sweetener with boba in limited edition robot cup

I went here when they first opened years ago. I got the yogurt and I wasn't fond of it. It's the first time I've been back and I was hesitant but my baby cousins showed me these robot cups they got that they knew I would love. I stopped by the other Monday on November 15 to get one for me and my dad. We love black milk tea but there are a lot of places who don't have the black tea, they use the powder which you can't control the sugar which IMO just taste like milk with a splash of tea. They apparently make many of their teas in house and I was able to ask for very light sweetener. Amazing, the tea they used was very good and it wasn't bitter. I can't say much for anything else but my baby cousins got the I've smoothie and strawberries and cream smoothie. They said it was delicious. Pricing was expensive. For my milk teas with the $3 each bottle of the robots was $19. So it was $13 for the milk teas and it was quite a little amount but I also have no clue if I didn't get the robot cups would it have been in a bigger container. There are really only two places in town I would go to for homemade black milk tea and this one of them. Very nice people, the young lady was kind and didn't overload our drinks with ice which is always a plus since they realize you don't get as much drink when you add ice. I would highly recommend trying this place out!

    OG açaí bowl

Super good Açaí bowls, fast and friendly service would definitely recommend again. Awesome seating and environment

    So goood

Customer service and food was great! Didn't think they'd have mangonada, that really surprised me so I had to get it.

    A Mangonada!

This place is awesome! Don't let the name throw you off. It has so much more than yogurt. I've lived pretty close to it for a while but never stopped because I thought it was strictly a yogurt (think TCBY). Was I wrong! Boba teas, Ube milkshakes, and Elotes with hot Cheeto dust!!! What?!?! My new favorite place!

I got their strawberrynada and it was AMAZING! They have a great menu to choose from and I can't wait to go back to try more

This place is my go to place for smoothies or frozen yogurt! The rocket fuel is my all time favorite smoothie. It's made with banana, espresso, pbfit, and vanilla whey! The flavor is really rich and creamy. It keeps you going. There are so many other options to get from here. Hope this place keeps going!

I came here to specifically try their new milk teas! Mainly the brown sugar milk tea! Been craving for that since I had it on my last Seattle trip. It was pretty decent here. The boba needed to be cooked a little more and the milk tea could have been a bit sweeter. My daughter couldn't decide what she wanted so she ended up getting a yogurt bowl and a strawberry smoothie. They had a lot of toppings for the yogurt. They do have to help you with the yogurt and the toppings. Due to Covid, they don't want you touching or standing too close to the toppings area. I totally understand but it was a bit difficult since they're in charge of how much of each topping they give you. My daughter ended up with more candy than I would have normally allowed her. Also, if you have younger children be sure you're watching them like a hawk. They have signs everywhere reminding you to watch your kids and not let them touch things. That was a little stressful lol.

Wonderful Mangonadas! I love corn in a cup or elotes but unfortunately the Chile powder they are using does not match the real flavor of esquites or elotes. Close enough but rather prepare my own. I will go back for other menu items

Amazing pink smoothie, green smoothie and traditional elote! So good
    Caitlin M.

I had seen an ad for this place on Facebook and I am so happy I went, the smoothies we got were out of this world and the traditional elote made me feel like I was in Mexico, and the workers were very nice letting me and my boyfriend sample their homemade frozen yogurt selection also. I 100% recommend this place! And I will be a new regular for sure

Menus at bubble tea shops can be overwhelming with all the choices, but here it's well-organized: photos and descriptions of the drinks with numbers for easy ordering. Staff are very welcoming and can help you decide what to order if you need recommendations. I had the lychee Jazzy Mist with lychee jelly. I went with 75% sweetness since that's what is recommended. It ended up being too a little sweet for my liking, so I would just order a lower sweetness level next time. Despite that I did enjoy the flavor and the texture of the jelly. I look forward to coming here next time I'm in town and sampling more of the menu!

I was right, as I walked in they sold the very last thing of what I wanted. But gosh am I glad- it forced me to try something new. I didnt take a picture because it was so cold out and my hands were frozen, but it was a beautiful, elongated bakery treat. It had lovely purple Ube cream and touch of oreo crumbs on top, the base was essential much like a flat cruller, but if higher quality. It was sensational! I bought my husband something that looked lower carb that had coffee cream that also enjoyed. I got my husband custom cold jasmine sugar free tea, and I got a frosty honeydew melon drink. It was a little spendy, but its nice to have a treat one on a while.

It's like a croissant baked in a waffle form, but a bit denser than a regular croissant. What really made it special was the Ube cream -- a light, buttery frosting that wasn't too sweet. Easily a 10/10 for me. I also ordered the Ube Cruffin, which had that same croissant-like texture in a muffin shape. The inside had a light cream filling, and the top was covered with the same Ube cream. It was good, but not quite as amazing as the Croffle -- 7/10. The Ham Banh Mi was tasty and filling (6/10), and the Boba Milk Tea was decent too (6/10). Oh and I got to taste their smoked salmon chowder that my friend ordered. Very good flavor, body, and richness (8/10). Everything I had was good but nothing that was as memorable as the Ube Croffle, but it wasn't cheap -- I spent a total $32 for a sandwich, drink and 2 pastries. Then again, prices in Alaska tend to be higher in general. Overall, even though I've only been once, I'd definitely come back for that Ube Croffle -- it was the real highlight!

I'd been wanting to go here for the longest time, having seen someone having an afternoon tea through the window. Finally today, we decided to go. I was sure they did lunch items, but couldn't find a menu anywhere. The server apologized and handed me a menu, and pointed out the soup specials. Husband selected the loaded baked potato soup, and I chose the curried egg salad sandwich. He got an Americano (because there was no drip available) and I requested English Breakfast Tea, noticing that they had big black tubs of teas around the shelves. I requested skim milk (it wasn't available) and had to settle for whole milk. At this stage I'll point out that I am 100% English, I moved here in 2012, and it's difficult to get a good strong cup of English Breakfast Tea in town (The Perfect Cup was a noticeable exception to this, and were indeed the perfect cup of strong English black tea) but I had high hopes for somewhere called a Tea Lounge. His coffee was served quickly, but I waited a while for my tea. It arrived with the milk already in it, and had virtually no colour at all, so I could instantly tell, it wasn't strong enough. I took a sip, couldn't taste any tea, and I took it to the counter and asked for an extra tea bag. 2 of the counter staff seemed to need to deal with this issue, and kept my mug of tea behind the counter, and I was sent to the cashier to pay $5 for a brand new cup to be made. I'm quite outraged by this. I had already paid for the tea, my tea was made wrong, I was happy to pay to add an extra tea bag, or leaves to the cup I already had, or have them remake it to my liking, but I am aghast to have to pay twice for one mug of tea. After another wait, the tea was brought to the table - no milk, so I asked for milk. A jug of milk was brought, but no spoon to stir with. Again, this was weak tea. I have tea bags sent to me from home, I make it for myself every morning. This was weak tea. I had asked them to make the second mug STRONG. Am I not making myself clear? Anyway, the dining room was mostly empty, a reserved table's customers came in, and there was a guy sitting in a corner space. We had to wait an interminably long time, for a bowl of soup and cold sandwich requiring no cooking. The server brought the soup out 1st, soup splashed all over the plate. It was a nice big bowl. However, the potatoes in this soup are not baked potatoes, they're boiled. The bacon has not been cooked prior to putting it in the soup. And every other time I've had loaded baked potato soup, it's got a creamy broth. This is a runny broth. I love loaded baked potato soup, but that didn't look appealing to me at all. My egg salad sandwich followed, I was even more disappointed by this I think. I believe this egg salad is prepared in a food processor, as there are no discernible pieces of egg, it's kind of like a spread if you will, and a very thin one. A smear on one side of the bread. However if you love arugula, and tomatoes, you'd like this sandwich, because they are violently, aggressively abundant with it, to the point that I could not taste any curried egg salad whatsoever. I'll stick to making my own, at home, I shred the egg in a grater so there aren't big chunks of egg, but it still has the egg salad flavour. This was bland. Like I say, all I could taste was arugula. Best thing about this - the potato chips were fresh. I do feel VERY disappointed and let down by my experience today. It was an expensive lunch, an even more expensive mug of mediocre tea, which is ludicrous in a place calling themselves a Tea Lounge. I won't be revisiting, no matter how pretty the space.

I came here for high tea which was something new, so I had no point of reference on what to expect. Overall, I'd give it a B. The food items were good and presented in an attractive way, and I felt very ladylike eating such dainty little treats! Plenty enough for two people, I even took some home. An entire small pot of tea plus a free re-steeping is included in the cost of your ticket. Price wise, I would say everything was more than reasonable for Anchorage. My only complaint, and I'm not sure I would even call it that? is that our server seemed a little unfamiliar with the operation. In her own world a lot. Ended up cashing ourselves out at the front which was probably preferred anyway I'm sure I will be back.
