We were in Monterey for my birthday and wanted to have a relaxing night at a wine bar. We walked by Sovino and thought it looked cute so we planned to walk down the pier and when we headed back, the whole atmosphere had changed and there was my boyfriend's favorite thing: karaoke!! The staff and other patrons were SO NICE!! We are not local but everyone was including us to sit at their tables, join their conversations, and the nicest guy ever even bought us a bottle of wine to take home!! I truly could not believe our luck finding the most fun and welcoming place at the start of the weekend. We definitely plan to come back in the summer and bring some friends who also love karaoke - we had an incredible time!!

Wine is really good. Our server Cass was super nice and sweet and also full of knowledge. Super cute and comfy place.

Was looking for some wine tasting options in Monterey and this came up with trivia the night we were in town! I love trivia but I've only ever done it at breweries so I was excited to try it out at a wine bar. It's a cute spot with different seating options and a great menu of wines and snacks. I did a flight that I curated from the menu and all of them were delicious. Trivia was also super fun! I would definitely come back either for trivia, one of their other events or just for a tasting. Located in a convenient spot too!

Cute little bar in Downtown Monterey! They have a wide selection of wines & snacks! The customer service was 10/10. Can't wait to go back!

The best service! Thank you Harry!

First time to this wine bar and I was greeted by Harry my goodness this young gentleman was such a friendly man I instantly felt welcomed I ordered a glass of Sovino Pinot noir I asked him for a recommendation for food and told him to surprise me PROSCUITTO BRIE PANINI was what he brought out and my goodness I was not disappointed! The wine was great, the food was great and the customer service that Harry brought was amazing!

Just moved to Monterey and met the owner at another local spot. She was very down to earth and welcomed us to join in pumpkin carving the next day. The wine selection was great and the conversation with other customers inside made it feel like home. Will definitely be going back!

My list…read moreof requirements was a mile long: willing to accommodate food allergies, accepting of bookings for a large party, decent parking availability nearby, wide variety of menu items... just to name a few. I worked with Wendy and Andrew to setup the reservation and they were both so patient and kind answering all of my questions. Upon the day of the reservation we unfortunately had several members of our reservation hit flight delays from the east coast and so I nervously called the restaurant to see if it was possible to push the reservation by an hour. The staff here moved mountains to accommodate this ask. Our party's seating had to be split into two tables which we were grateful to even have the reservation still so we happily accepted. We were seated immediately upon arrival and the staff handled our large party amazingly. The menu here is your typical American bar food that you would find at most breweries. No complaints here, food is not fancy, but it is good for what it is. Lots of drinks to pair with your food. I love and appreciate that there is even a kids menu offered here with staff willing to accommodate food allergies. I ordered the House Smoked Wings & Skirt Steak Fries. Again, nothing fancy, but still good. The fries were a little hard to eat, but I really enjoyed the wings. My son loved his kids meal with Grilled Chicken & Veggies. The chicken was perfectly cooked, I honestly regretted not getting a similar dish as I enjoyed my son's leftovers. Overall, great relaxing atmosphere that is fun for a large party with wonderful staff that really go above and beyond to make sure customers leave feeling valued and happy. If I am ever in the area again I would go out of my way to come back here as our experience was so overwhelmingly positive :)

Service was excellent-We were seated immediately, and the wait staff was friendly, very attentive, and quick taking and bringing our orders. As for the menu, they have an extensive beer selection, though we didn't partake (had a long drive). The food menu had all your pub grubs. We didn't order anything mind-blowing (salads, apps,) but the pretzels were inhaled, and the cheese pizza was "the best" my teen son had ever had, and giant enough that he needed to take it home. Overall, super pleasant experience!

(Sunday evening, not busy at all) As I waited for our two beers, I had to be careful not to step in a bunch of French fries and a fork that were on the floor where I was standing. The two bartenders seemed more concerned with talking to their friends sitting on the other side of the bar than cleaning up or checking on customers that had just walked in. Just seemed like a slow paced dive bar atmosphere with very little attention to detail and service that I've seen at other locations. No kitchen at this spot, but there is a food truck on site with tacos, nachos, and sandwiches. We went with the chicken nachos which were actually pretty good. If anything, stop by for a beer and hit the road.

We live part-time in Monterey and have walked past La Casa del Sazón several times saying "we need to try it"...Wow we should have sooner. It's delicious! Getting there is much easier than going to anything on Alvarado. Parking in the area isn't abundant but not a problem.. even so it's worth a short walk. The Food: It's freshly made so it takes a little more time to be served...well worth the wait! The chips and salsa served before the meal were very satisfying. The salsa has a nice kick for lightweight spice eaters. For dinner, I tried the Taco Plate and had two fish tacos with their beans and veggies as the sides. Perfect score 5-stars. Delicious! The seasoning used was just right and everything tasted fresh. They have homemade masa tortillas that are tender with good flavor. We also had the Chicken soup. My wife felt the broth could be more flavorful but I also liked it. It had plenty of chicken and veggies...very hearty. Looking forward to the leftovers as it's a large portion! It's important to note the exceptional service. Emanuel was our server and he couldn't have been more polite, helpful with the menu, and paid court close attention to the shellfish allergy we alerted him to. Lastly, the price is right! The food is not expensive and prices are noticeably less than those just one block away! Bottom Line - Highly recommended
