His inking of the Iowa Hawkeyes icon on my backside is something that I wish I could actually see because the image just sort of pops (which is hard because I am extra-jiggly). I very kindly asked for if a refund was possible for just the jewelry in which the person on the phone-not Emily, denied me, and were honestly not very nice about. Didn't really have much of an explanation other than, "IDK, that is just not gonna happen". This place is good for piercings but a little unprofessional when it came to customer service.

I thought I'd be shooting for a walk-in, so I had researched everyone in the shop to make sure I'd be cool with whoever was available to tattoo me and not just one specific artist. I ended up sending a booking request just a few days ahead and scored an appointment with Ace. While I had some concept ideas and inspo, I hadn't really come in with something specific and that made me really nervous. Luckily, smack on the front page of his wanna do book, I found my design. I think we did more talking than tattooing at some points or we would've been done even faster than we actually were. Very grateful for fast tattooers with gentle hands lol. The shop is gorgeous, but beware if like me you go in the winter on the morning after a cold weekend - it gets chilly! They've got plenty of blankets and bolsters to make a nook though, if you forget your own. I can't say enough good things about my experience and I'm so excited to work with these folks to fill up more on my leg.

After two days of doing the proper aftercare, as written in the email from the parlor, my ear was so swollen I was forced to seek medical attention. Please note this is not my first piercing (I have 6 others) , so I was well versed in the proper after care for piercings. The piercing had to be cut off of my ear by hospital staff and I was prescribed antibiotics for the intense infection. I truly believe this would have been avoided had the piercer not been so aggressive with tightening the back of the piercing. This experience has forever deterred me from going back to this company or participating in any piercings again.
