Sorry for bad review but lingering problem and poor follow up communication with accounting being the problem. I have managed other large jobs for this vendor consulting for large CV associations and have not experienced any problems nor have my clients so maybe this is how they deal with the public. Order Request: Excellent and professional response. Communication about dates and time work was to be done: Excellent Technician, Genaro, showed up on time and gave us choices on irrigation repair. His advice and work were great, no mess and knocked it out. Not a super hard job but excellent work and one that needed to be done. As SWP did not know my past with their company or connect my personal address they required a CC# on file as to them I was a new customer and they did not want to get stood up, I appreciate that and gave Card# and did not mention my past as that is confusing sometimes. Billing 1) Paid technician via their system at conclusion of job on my CC which he was on site for the job and was given an invoice receipt with explained correct hours, parts, and amounts. Nothing spectacular here just what they do every day. Our bank account was charged immediately this was about a month ago. Billing 2) A problem, 10 days after work was done and paid for I got an email receipt for another billing. Okay just a mistake I hoped but what I saw was disturbing. I got a different amount invoiced for the same job, yes more hours. Not sure how this could happen as I had the work order in my hand with technicians labor and parts detail on it. Someone took it upon themselves to add hours to the job. and I find that a bit sketchy. I called that same day as the second billing was debited out of my bank account. I gave the info of both billings to the person on the phone could only take the information as the accounting person was unavailable. Next day I got an email from accounting person saying they'd credit invoice #2 and I should see it is 2-3 business days. Okay not a problem but no explanation or apology to taking my money without authorization. Now 12 days later still no credit so I emailed and called again two days prior to holiday asking for accounting person but she was unavailable so the very nice person on phone took my info again. Now no communication and still no credit to my account, no apology or explanation. I am just confused how this could happen in this day and age where positive reviews make a brand. Yes, it is not a large amount of money about $500 but it is my money and now my time. So now almost a month later, I have wasted a lot of my time trying to fix someone else's problem. If I owed them money I am sure they'd be calling me everyday threatening to lien my home. Now I will have to spend more time alerting my bank to dispute their invoice #2 debit amount from my account. SWP is a large company and one person is responsible for giving their company a bad reputation, review, and very doubtful I will ever assign them to another job personally or professionally. I called Southwest Plumbing for a clogged main house drain. I already had the line inspected with a snake/camera, and knew where the blockage was located and that it would need to be dug up and a section swapped out. The lady on the phone was nice, professional and said that they could have someone out later that day. I was quoted $350 for 1st hour and $247/hr after. I figured this was about a 5 hour job, so when she said they needed a 50% deposit and would need a credit card deposit charge of $800, that sounded right. Plus parts, I was expecting around $2,000 total. The crew fixed my drain problem and all was great, until a few days later when I got the final bill. $5,200 !!!! Initially 2 guys were working, a little later 2 more showed up to "help". Apparently the hourly charge I was quoted wasn't for the job, but for every guy that showed up. So they charged me approximately $1,000 per hour for the 4. I checked on them often throughout the repair, and never saw all 4 working at the same time. There was only room for 1 guy in the hole to dig/work and another to assist. The others were always sitting or standing around chatting. The work performed was good, but the billing practice I find to be very deceptive. Be careful and question the labor rates ! read more

Very poor work and overcharged. No communication and calls never returned. They took advantage of our experience. We had a problem with our washer that would not drain and head flooded the floors. After two months, a minor job was finally completed. We could not have our new washer dryer delivered until the pipes were changed. At the first attempted delivery, the delivery man could not get the door off of the frame to install the washer dryer. The reason why is because Southwest Plumbing had removed the door and replace the bolt in the door with a toilet boat instead. Since our washer dryer could not be installed because of the poor workmanship by Southwest Plumbing and putting a toilet bowl in the door, we had to reschedule with a delivery. We called Southwest Plumbing to have the door removed since the toilet bowl was in the door and not the regular door bolt. Who does this how unprofessional Southwest came out and put the correct boat on the door and then we had to wait another week to have a washer dryer installed because of the poor work by Southwest Plumbing. Notwithstanding the poor work that was done, we were charged over $1500 for two hours of work. They sent two men and charged hourly rates for both of them men when only one man was needed to perform the job. Very dishonest and unskilled workers. read more

The employees need to be trained on proper etiquette when entering a home that has a pet. I asked the employees who came to home, unannounced, to keep my front gate closed because of my dog. Next thing I know these 2 guys are in my house (leaving the front door open with air conditioning on) and my gate is wide open. So I said hey the gate is open and one of them says I'll get it, but continues what he was doing, so I got up and shut the gate and told them I didn't think it was too much to ask. They left every light on, left my garage door unlocked and didn't bother to pick up my cleaning products that they placed on my kitchen floor as a "marker". Thank God my dog wasn't looking to get out! Unprofessional and need to respect the customer's requests. Leave the home the way it was before they entered. read more

I had yet another irrigation leak that was worse than the first so I called Southwest plumbing again. Brandon came back out, pinpointed the problem and started digging. I had to leave for work but he kept me updated along the way until the job was finished. Along the way he was able to diagnose and fix another problem with a shut off valve that wasn't functioning correctly. Brandon offered truly professional and personal top notch service from start to finish. Praying I don't have any more leaks running up my water bill, but if I do I will call southwest and ask for Brandon any day. read more

I must start with Diana Santiago first. She went above and beyond. Not only is she professional, she definitely cares about the company and the clients like no other. She saw that I was challenged with a blockage in my pipes and needed help as soon as possible. I tried calling many places and no one was Available for at least a week out. Diana first told me the earliest they could get someone out was four days out. Then an opening happened and she called me back and actually got me someone the next day, Juan Hernandez. Juan was VERY professional and straight to what the matter was. He worked up a big sweat, and managed to work around obstacles and cleared the pipes. He was able to diagnose our dishwasher problem in no time flat and fixed our clogged drain before anyone had to use the bathroom. It was glorious. The work requested was to clear 2 shower drains in 2 apartment units (5 & 6) and provide video of the drains for future problem solving. Both drains appear to be working on the same drain. My 1st phone call was to an answer service. At first I did not know I was calling an answering service. Most of my subsequent calls went to an answering service. I explained the above and was called back by a scheduler. I explained the above again but left out the camera. I had assumed my requirements were transferred to the scheduler. 1st Visit: Plumbers show up at the property without a camera and I declined there engagement. I called and spoke with the scheduler and she was right I did not mention a camera but I had with the answering service. The scheduler rescheduled for the above work. 2nd Visit: Plumbers show up at the property without the camera necessary for the 2 showers and instead videoed a lower drain outside next to the main. This is the 2nd time with no meaningful results and I am paying a handyman to be present for each visit. Again, I called and spoke with the answering service and then called by the scheduler and rescheduled. Also, I was called by a manager. I explained the above. Third visit: Plumbers DO NOT show up and DID NOT CALL going to be late, etc. Again, I called and spoke with the answering service stating how angry I was with Southwest. Shortly thereafter, received a call from the scheduler that the plumbers were running late. I stated that my Handyman had already left and that I WAS DONE with Southwest Plumbing. We have had them out for three different issues over the last three or so years and they never dissapoint. This one was two leaks that were hard to get to and when Abel Pelayo and Daniel showed up they quickly to us what they would do and was done faster than we expected. First of all, I don't know why they can't give you an rough estimate over the phone and they would charge you $89 dollar for showing up. When the technician showed up they estimated $5.700 for a water heater. The water heater alone was $4.100 and $1.600 for labor cost. I asked them what kind of water heater that cost 4K and they respond with bunch of BS!!!. You can buy a same 50 gallon water heater at Home depot Lowe for $679.00 and hire a plumber for $200-$300 for a labor. Southwest plumbing is nothing but rip off!!!!!!! read more

We cannot flush the toilets in our home and this place was recommended so I called at 8 o'clock this morning. In order for them to make an appointment I had to give them my full credit card with my expiration and my CCV code. Five hours later I still haven't heard from them so I called and they put me on hold for 10 minutes and then told me that nobody can come in till tomorrow between 12 and four. I told them I could've set up another plumber to come and fix our problem and they took absolutely no responsibility for it at all. While I'm on hold, I listen to their jingle about how they are celebrating their 30th year of being reliable. I don't see any of that. Shame on them. read more

Summary: Their prices are competitive BUT get things in writing if you decide to go with this company because I have had issues with verbal negotiatons. I had a pretty not great experience with Southwest Plumbing. We had what turned out to be a tree root that grew into one of our sewer pipes, causing a complete block. I received a recommendation for two companies from a contractor and called them both. The first company ran a line and said that our root was most likely at a spot in front of our rose bushes and gave us an estimate to dig it up that seemed high so I called Southwest for a second estimate. They came in at more than a thousand dollars cheaper so I hired them. Sounds about good so far right? Now, I will admit that I know nothing about plumbing and like a lot of people, trust reputable companies not to lead me astray. That is the reason why I gave them two stars instead of one - because I understand that miscommunications can happen. However, these "miscommunications" cost me over $2000. So here is what happened from my POV. First, I agreed to pay another guy to come out to fun a line to give a second estimate on where the block was (their camera guy was busy). I thought that was supposed to be a few hundred and they later billed me for over five hundred for just this service. The kicker was that the young gentleman who they sent out "thought" that he might have gotten the block, decided to run some water....and flooded a good portion of my house. To be fair, he got cleaners to come out and mop up the mess but we had to get our baseboards repainted and our floors sanitized by a cleaning crew on our own dime - fun! Second, I was warned by the guys who came out to dig out our root that if we never got it verified via camera, that they might have to dig another hole. I called the gentleman I had been negotiating with and told him that I did not want to pay to dig two holes and was willing to wait for the camera guy (since the first one was costing a few grand) and he said tell you what, they crew is already there, if they "dig the hole and they don't find anything" we won't charge you for it. I felt pretty reassured and when I got off the phone, the very nice gentleman who were there (hearing my side of the convo since I repeated what he said) said, oh that is nice that they won't charge you for the second hole. Surprise, it turned out that the first company had misjudged where the root would be but double-whammy, the gentleman who I spoke with on the phone informed me that I would indeed have to pay for a second hole because what he meant by "don't find anything" was if they didn't find a pipe - which they did. So because they found a pipe in that spot, it still counted. Again, I was willing to wait another day because this was a lot of money and was talked into it with the promise that I wouldn't have to pay twice (bwahaha). I went ahead with them because they were willing to give me a slight discount and at that point, I was just exhausted (my family which includes a young child had been without water for a couple of days at that point). Third, the root removal (I will say that the gentlemen who dug out the hole were actually really nice) went off without a hitch but then it turns out that they sent my invoice to the WRONG email address which just compounded the comedy of errors since it occurred to me later that due to THEIR mistake, my almost perfect credit score could have been dinged pretty badly. To be fair, almost everyone I worked with was pretty nice but there were too many miscommunications and errors on their part that ended up costing me a LOT Of money. read more

SW came 5 times to snake line and finally gave up and said my drain could no longer be snaked. I had another rooter come same day for half the price and cleared the line. Part of the SW scam is not bringing the right size snake and having to return with a bigger snake for an additional charge. SW Provided $20k quote to dig up property to fix problem they could not prove was the issue. When I asked about the "video" proof that I paid for, I could not get an honest clear answer. I like that I don't have to rate this, because what I'd like to share is I'm hoping something this company can use as a teaching experience. First, am a loyal customer. My clients too have used them in the past. So, I call and make an appointment. I share what I need PSI test and probably a new valve that controls the pressure. Set up a four hour window. Crazy, as that's an entire day wasted if you don't get the very first appointment. I have multiple clients whose homes I'm designing. So being lock up for four hours is tough. I share this and stay in contact with the SUPER amazing Valarie. First time I check in at 9 as my window is from 9 to 2, she says I'm 3rd, great I can get things done. She says it might be 11:30, but depends on second job. Damn, I can't do anything! I call at 11:30, trouble with there second job. Morning has been wasted for NOTHING! ARGHH! No they say it's going to be closer to 2:00, they'll call 30 minutes out. Fine, I can jet out to Rancho Mirage. An hour later, the very nice guy calls and say he's 8 minutes away. Arghhh, I'm almost to my other meeting. He's now an hour and thirty early. I turn around and head to job site. Guy checks things out, says we need another valve this is only registering at 40, we need 60, the manufacturer says 80. Anyway, he doesn't have the part! Says they're in stock at there offices! Seriously, WHY DON'T YOU HAVE THE PART, YOU KNEW WHAT YOU WERE COMING TO DO! I could have sent you a picture, or anything you asked for prior to wasting an entire day! VERY NICE GUYS THOUGH! Since it's now just barely 1:00 and my widow is 2:00, for him to be at the house at the last ext. I ask him he could get the part and come back! MAKES SENSE BECAUSE WE WERE BOOKED FOR THAT TIME ANYWAY! And had he arrived at 2:00 with the part, it would have been what we were expecting because our window for him to arrive is 2:00. I call the office and speak to another associate. NOT THE AMAZING VALARIE. But instead another female coworker, who IMMEDIATELY says NO! I explain the time as I did just above and she says she'd check. She comes back with a NO! I think her name was Evon, she couldn't have cared less about the conflict this was causing to my day! No desire to help, no understanding of what I was asking is in fact, WHAT THEY TOLD ME SCHEDULE WISE HAD THEY ARRIVED AT 2:00. So now I have to do this ALL over again tomorrow! SO MY SUGGESTION IS.... Please be respectful of your customers time as well. I understand that we are all busy, but coming without the part, or if needed extra info. from us prior ask for it. Because making us do this all over again tomorrow is now wasting two full days for NOTHING! My first encounter with Southwest Plumbing was an emergency and WOW! I am a thrilled new customer. I woke up to find water on the living room floor and kitchen floor and it was coming from the wall between the two rooms. I was panicking because I was set to leave on vacation then next morning. I called SW first thing and Rachel in service took the information and told me she would get back to me. Within 10 minutes she called back to say a technician would arrive between noon and 4pm. I knew this would be a nail biter. I was thrilled when Dave showed up at 11:30, far earlier than I expected. within minutes he was digging in the wall behind the refrigerator and found the problem; a tiny hole in the tubing in the wall that goes to the ice maker. He cut off the problem area, fitted a new valve, and gave me tips for the future (pointing out that the tube connected to the water under the sink and the cold water valve was an additional shut off). I was referred to Southwest Plumbing this morning after finding a leak underneath our bathroom sink. I called when Southwest opened and spoke to Rachael who was able to give me a same day Time Window of 11-2 which they met with a lot of time to spare. Our technician was Nathan who was great to work with. He was respectful to my wife. He did not have the part on his truck that he needed but promptly got it so he could compete his job. First they came out to retrofit a bathroom with old galvanized pipe to new pipe, quote was 11k which is insane. didn't go with them for that, so just had them cap off an old galvanized pipe (600 dollars, still insane prices since it took 45 minutes) and then they left. an hour or so i noticed a pinhole leak, Kris was the plumber who took care of this. I called and reported the leak that was caused by the work and they said "because it's a foot and a half away from where we capped, and because it's old plumbing, it's not under warranty, it would have happened at some point or another" just ridiculous. now we have a leak in our basement and they wouldn't even consider remedying the problem they introduced from their work. If they can't warranty work on old pipes, don't do work on old pipes? Wouldn't recommend southwest plumbing unless you have a serious emergency and your house is brand new so nothing else could go wrong. they'll rip out an arm and a leg to fix the most basic of plumbing problems. Brandon was the service manager who declared "this isn't in warranty because they're old pipes". Total joke, ran around in logical circles as he tried to explain what was in warranty and what wasn't. there was no rational to it, totally subjective that they just didn't want to fix the issue they introduced. could have taken then 20 minutes to fix but nope, poor service is their motto i guess! read more

Southwest was out to fix a second clogged drain in two weeks. The first repair was done by another company. Southwest's plumbers were courteous, professional and efficient. They fixed the issue and were done in under under an hour. While unclogging a drain seems straightforward, the first plumbing company (not Southwest) left a big unnecessary hole in the wall and charged 2x for the essentially the same work. During the repair, this plumber kept pushing his company's additional services (like water clean-up for a room that was completely tiled). Thanks Southwest Plumbing! You guys are the best, most competent and honest plumbers in the area. read more

A leak developed in my master shower from the hand held sprayer to the extent that it filled up a large bucket in just a few hours. Called SWPlumbing and right on time Kirk Thompson arrived and went to work and replaced a defected part in the shower control. That night I noticed a small drip had started, very small in comparison to the original drip problem. I called and told SW about it, they sent Kirk back that very same day, found that the newly installed part was in fact defective and replaced it. Completely solved the problem. I could not be more impressed with Kirk's professional work and demeanor. If and whenever I may need to engage a plumber again, I will call SW and request Kirk. I have already told several people about his wonderful service and I will continue to do so whenever the need for plumbing services may come up with any friends and family members.
