One yelp inquiry later within minutes, Cori and his team sent out Jason to help us out the next day (as we requested). We were given a window of 11 am - 1 pm and for the first time I've ever been given a window of arrival, Jason showed up promptly at 11 am. He went to work on inspection, giving recommendations, and then replacing the entire trifecta. We ran into some hiccups along the way where some pipe was dented from age and needed to be replaced and that was taken care of swiftly. We also have a napping newborn and he was miraculously able to sleep through the work and Jason was kind enough to work gently during the naps. After the job was done we chatted for a bit and he was on his way. Later that night I did notice a small leak coming from one of the couplings and Jason quickly returned the same night to fix the issue despite it being late. I even said we could wait until tomorrow but he insisted on getting to fixed. A quick fix later, all was well. I have working water pressure throughout the house and no more leaks. Called JIG Plumbing for a clogged toilet. What started as a ~$250 snake job quickly escalated to…read more~$550 to remove the toilet and inspect the drain. Once the toilet was removed, the drain looked fine--but then suddenly I was told I supposedly needed a new toilet for another $300-$400. At that point, it felt like unnecessary upselling, so I told them to put the toilet back and decided to get a second opinion. I ended up paying about $499, with the conclusion being that hardened waste had caused the clog. So what happened to needing a brand-new toilet? The toilet now works exactly as it did before. I had another plumber inspect it afterward, and they found no problems and told me the original clog should have been handled by simply snaking it. People can google things, research common plumbing issues, and get second opinions nowadays. The old tricks and pressure tactics don't work like they used to. Based on my experience, I would definitely question the recommendations and pricing and get a second opinion before agreeing to additional work.

Tech went as scheduled and told me he did a quick check at the unit and then to the electrical panel. And said now if he needs to go into diagnosis, it will cost $175 , and either he can fix it OR that $175 will be used to swap a new unit at $4xx. Since I'm remote, I can only agree to it to move forward. 10mins later, got a call from the tech saying, "there are good and bad news! Good news, the unit was indeed completely fine and it's working alright. The unit was slightly "UNPLUGGED" from the outlet and it works perfectly after I plugged it back in. Bad news, the $175 is due. " I appreciate that the "diagnosis" save me hundreds instead of replacing a fully working unit, but I would have thought the first free initial check should have looked at the connection in the first place. Definitely feel a bit rip off BUT they did give me a small discount in the end. I'm not expecting free work BUT $150 to get someone out to plug it back in? Is that the norm?
