My wife and I had to make an emergency trip to Orlando, Fl due to a death in the family. Our flight to Orlando was most pleasent due to the boarding agent and the pilot's attitude, which relieved much of the passengers stress upon take off. However, our return trip on June 14, was a nightmare. Upon arrival at the gate, we were informed of a half hour delay. During that
time I inquired if we had prefered boarding. The boarding agent, from the previous flight, informed us that we should stand at the prefered boarding line when called to board. When our flight was called to board, I again asked the new boarding agent, Mr Rowle, If we should stand in the prefered boarding line. His answer was to board by the group printed on our boarding pass, in a very aggresive atitude. My wife and I are 78 year old senior citizens and she has several medical conditions. We stood in our assigned boarding positions (A29 & A30) waiting to be called. When asked to board our group, Mr Rowle took my boarding pass and as I proceeded to board. Mr Rowle, however, stopped my wife right behind me by holding his hand up close to her face and accusing her of trying to "sneak" into the line. When she tried to show him her boarding pass with it's boarding group, he ignored her and threatened her by asking, " do you want to get on the plane?" All of the other passengers started to tell him to let her pass. She felt great fear and alone by us being seperated. As soon as I saw my wife, I went to help with her carry on, which she is unable to handle. Once we were seated, we asked a flight attendent for the agents name. Mr Rowle appeared on the plane and we asked for his name. He now threatened us, again, by saying, "do you want to exit the plane?". In order to calm the situation and the fact that my wife was now experiencing tachycardia and was ashen white, we kept silent. We felt absolutely embarrased and humiliated, by being falsely accused by Mr Rolwe's bulling and belligerant attitude. It took all I had to calm her down for an hour and a half during our flight. Many other passengers also were bullied as they were complaing about Mr Rolwe and how he had delayed the flight by making a passenger with a wife and two small children return to the counter to check in two strollers, which had been in plain view by Mr Rowle for at least an hour before boarding. The passengers wife was beside herself as she kept looking for her husband to board. The flight attendent announced over the PA system the delay. As of today, Southwest has sent us 2 $50.00 vouchers, to be used exclusively on Southwest ( of course ) and NO information as to what action, if any, was taken about Mr Rolwe. This from an airline trying to develope it's Carribean routes. read more
