This dealership has ZERO follow up or customer service On October 31, @ 345 pm I saw their service shuttle cause chaos in traffic on Wayne Gretzky Drive and Yellowhead Trail. The shuttle driver didn't realize that the lane he was in ended I guess, and he decided to move into the left lane beside him with NO regard for the F350 that was beside him. I have a feeling he did bother looking before his fast moves. That's when I noticed the rear bumper of this gold minivan was destroyed. I tried to keep my distance as not to become his next victim but close enough to get the phone # of the dealership. As I passed this vehicle i noticed the driver was an ELDERLY man who probably shouldn't have been on the road. I called into service and left a message for the service manager about the 3 potential collisions I saw this man almost cause in 5 minutes but he never called me back. Then on November 7th I left a message for the general manager and here we are a week later and still no call. If this place can't call me back about concerns about there shuttle driver I don't think they would be very helpful if you had concerns with your vehicle purchase. I bought a 2 year old low mileage Honda Pilot from them in 2019 and have had very few problems with it. It is the 2nd Pilot I've owned and although I paid full asking price due to scarcity of good used stock during covid, the sales manager was kind enough to throw in a protective mat for the rear when the seats are folded down, which is our usual mode of operation. Recently, a leak began on the upper part of the windshield which was recently replaced. The installer assured me, after thorough testing, it was not leaking around the windshield but likely from the sun roof. I phoned the service department and asked if there was maybe a drain from the sunroof that could be plugged. The female in that department answered my voicemail very quickly and assured me there were no drains around the sunroof, instead, I should bring it into their shop for a 2 or 3 hour repair. I live 1-1/4 hours away so I decided to do a little research and found that the common cause of sunroof leaks is a plugged drain line and the remedy is to insert a 2 metre length of sturdy weed eater plastic line into the drain hole on the forward driver's side of the sunroof. After 15 minutes of poking the plastic line in and out of the drain hole and testing the flow of water around the opening, the problem was solved. Service is good overall, vehicle was taken due to abnormal noise, service advisor Awais Shah was receptive and managed it very well. Drive belt tensioner needed to be replaced, glad I had this covered under warranty. Diagnostics $180 was charged under labor which I do mind. For the folks buying extra warranty should be aware that diagnostics is not covered which I am unable to find in the warranty papers. Perhaps it should be stated clearly on the invoice as in the warranty it stated that parts and labor both will be covered. Vehicle went through complimentary wash that was great. We were there to see the vehicle and we were totally disappointed with their service. Even if they don't want to open their floor model vehicle to see it from outside, wow looks like they judge the book by its cover. We explained that we are looking for a RDX model and they said they don't have stock and my partner wants to see MDX. We may have changed our mind to MDX but they were not entertaining to open the door at all and unfortunately we left the showroom without seeing the vehicle and when we were on our way out finally they said they can open the door because they noticed that we are unhappy. buying my vehicle(used) from Acura was fairly easy, it was after I paid that the problems started. I was told my vehicle came with a 2nd set of tires..... what they didn't tell me was they were all different tread depths and 3 of them were a different brand name from the 4th. I was told by the dealership that even if the tires fail Acuras test, they'll still give them out........ so now I need to spend an additional $1,000 for new tires. Now my AC has stopped working and I have not heard back from the dealership in 2 weeks. Very poor customer service. read more

This dealership has a very dishonest finance department. We were convinced to purchase a $4000 warranty by the finance woman at time of purchase. She claimed it would cover everything, and if unused we would receive $2200 back, no questions. We specifically asked about in the case of a vehicle write off, she again replied yes, we would still receive the full 2200 back. Well 16 months later a deer got hit and our vehicle was written off, Southgate Acura gave us the run around and denied us the guaranteed return of 2200, and when asked about at least getting some portion of the original amount back due to only having the vehicle for half of the warranty time and still not having that plan paid off even, they denied us that too! Stay away from these people, they are dishonest and will not honour their word when it comes down to it. read more

I would not recommend purchasing from this dealership. My family has purchased 2 new vehicles from Southview Acura the past year and found the Sales Manager, Philip Young, dishonest. Specials/Programs were not honored. I have sent 2 emails to Philip and both were ignored. We went into the dealership and discussed with Philip directly, twice. Both times he promised to look into the matter and have it resolved by the end of the day. We never heard back from him. We are satisfied with the service department but we will not be returning due to Philip. Even though he is the manager of a different department, his dishonesty and lack of customer service reflects poorly on the dealership. We will be escalating our issue with Acura Canada. read more

Bought a car from them and due to an emergency had to leave the province, so I offered them to take it back. They quoted me a price difference of $7,000 in 3 months. Had one of my worst customer service experiences ever here, but at least it was brief. I lined up the purchase of a used vehicle with their internet team, around a $37,000 sale. I the. Stopped by for my appointment to drive and check over the car - won't go into the details, but the 'lady' that helped me was so condescending in the first 5 minutes that I got up, said 'well, this is over' and walked out. So they basically ticked me off enough with 3 spoken sentences that I was done. Purchased a 2020 RDX from SouthView Acura in July. Within 4 days of having it something went wrong with the vent and so I brought it in and Acura stated they needed to order a part and would contact me when it arrived. A month went by and I hadn't heard anything so I called and they told me they had forgotten to order the part and that it would take another month to come in. As September rolls in and I have yet to receive a call I start to wonder if they forgot me again. To no surprise they did but I was told the part had been sitting there for a couple of weeks. I made an appointment to go in and have it replaced as well as an oil change and for them to look at my ventilated passenger seat as everyone stated it was not working. When I arrived I was not greeted by anyone and wandered into Acura to speak with an unfriendly bored with her job representative. I had requested a loner vehicle and when I asked her where it was parked she stated " well right out there next to yours". I'm not sure if she expected me to just know where the loner car was but I believe that is an inappropriate way to tell me. I received a call 5 hours later from Acura stating they didn't realize there was a second part to the vent that they need and it will now take another month before that comes in. As for the ventilation seat, they state there is nothing wrong and thats just the way they are. Funny when we test drove a few cars they were well ventilated. If I could go back in time, I would not purchase a vehicle from South View Acura. I will try taking my vehicle to West Side Acura or Honda to see if they have better service. read more

Service department is not very helpful at this location. I needed to get a new key programmed for my car and it took them 3 days to do it. They kept telling me that the wrong key had been ordered, or that the key had been cut wrong. I wish I had taken my car in to the Westside Acura instead. read more

Bought a two year old Acura from Southview Acura. Purchasing experience was alright other than the upsales you have to sit through for extended warranties and paint sealant and whatever else they're pushing. According to the sales contract the vehicle was to be "completely detailed" before I picked it up. After getting the car home I noticed dirt in the back seat, dirt ground into the carpets, dirty shoe scuffs on the door panels and seat-backs. The windshield was so built up with film that it was unsafe to drive facing into the sun the next morning. It appears "completely detailed" means they ran the car through the car wash before delivery. Second complaint is that when the salesman did the car delivery he couldn't get my phone contacts to upload using the Bluetooth sync. He said he would look into it and email me the instructions. Two weeks went by without any follow up so I emailed the salesman. His response was to email me a pdf of the entire 400+ page owners manual. Wow. Thanks read more

I have two stories to tell about Southview Acura. The first occurred a couple of years ago. While on vacation we left our car to service about 7 issues, it was still under warranty. They called me while we were still away to say that had recommended solutions for all 7 issues. After the service person described the first fix and the cost, I mentioned to her that the car was under warranty, and was wondering why she was giving me costs. She put me on hold for 5 minutes, then came back to tell me that no other work was needed for the other 6 issues !!! What? 5 minutes earlier there was a bunch of work needed, but once she/they realized that the would have to do the work under warranty, suddenly the vehicle was all better? I left a message for the service manager, which of course was never returned. More recently we took the car in for some steering issues, and were told it would be $2500 to replace some parts, etc. Thinking that was excessive, I contacted an independent service garage (car was no longer under warranty). They checked it out and repaired one small subsystem of the larger steering component for under $500. Bottom line, never take your car here if you can avoid it. read more

I'm a careful guy, I check prices and product in depth. These folks are decidedly different. I made an email enquiry and a very pleasant woman responded immediately. Then one of the most genuine reps met with me. 'Sal' Salem guided me through one of of the most professional and customer-centred buying experiences ever. No pressure, just guidance through a respectful buying process. Sal has an infectious laugh that just puts you at ease. Full disclosure, no film flam. I'm impressed. A lot of talk but no service. I purchased my Acura RDX the end of April 2014. 2nd key was not availableas service man had (supposedly) taken it home toId I would be contacted and key sent out. Two weeks no response - Phoned Philip and was told one would be ordered. Two weeks no response phoned and asked for manager - told one was found & to come in and if didn't work would program it. Came in - didn't work told it would be 1/2 hour to reprogram. I waited in service lounge for 1 1/2 hours no attempt to keep me informed of delay - when I sent salesman to see what hold up was finally was told they were not able to program it & one would be ordered - again. Two weeks no response phoned again said message had been left -(no message on my phone) Key was in so set up 10:00 appointment next day July 18th to program. Arrived 10 minutes early - made point of telling them I would be waiting in service lounge 50 feet away and had lots to do that day. At 11:15 I asked what the hold up was. Was told technition didn't come in that day but I would be the next one in line. Did not get out of the service department for over 2 1/2 hours to have key programed. Two trips into edmonton (20 miles) 4 hours of my waiting in service department and absolutely no apology from Southview Acura. Love the car and hope there are no warranty issue if it takes over 7 weeks to get 2nd key. To add insult to injurgy, I received a service follow up phone call and when I explained the ordeal was asked so can I say your kind of happy and kind of not because you did get your key right? I received a Very poor costumer service at the counter from Travis , he is totally not familiar with the whole system of searching parts , he was blaming it on the blueprints but he is lacking the basic skills .. I order a part after asking his opinion based on a picture what I provided and I received a totally wrong part, they supposed to deliver it and if I wouldn't have called to see what id going on , I would have never knew that the part is back ordered . By far the worst service and treatment ever experienced at a dealership, and I have purchased a lot of cars from dealers. "Pauly" the sales manager was very rude, egotistical, argumentative , aggressive and disrespectful. He was rude right from the beginning low balling my trade in, right to when we pointed out the vehicle we were looking at had an accident on the car proof (which was never disclosed to us before we went in to financing) the ad listed off 4 options on the car which are higher end options, that the vehicle actually did not have. When my husband pointed this out Pauly was rude and told him that they already had a back up deal after we purchased the car and put a deposit on it. He told my husband that if we didn't want the car to just cancel and get our deposit back. When my husband called the next day Paul flat out told him that WE wasted Their time and that we were not getting our deposit back. And even argued with my husband about it. I called Jeff Copan the GM and he said to just come in and he would refund the deposit back onto my card. We waited 5 days to hear anything after we were told we were approved for financing (Daniela in financing is awful with returning phone calls, answering emails, or ever even responding. She is unprofessional, slow, and acts holier than thou, even just speaking with her, she has her nose up in the air), at this point I was annoyed and decided to just go over to Edmonton BMW and purchase a NEW Mini Cooper which we were approved for on the spot, treated kindly and with respect, and had the vehicle in our possession with TINT and 3M added on in under 24 hours. If you want to get hassled and dealt with poorly by all means choose this horrid place, and deal with "PAULY". Or you can skip the dealership altogether and choose wisely by reading the reviews. Worst sales department I have ever dealt with. Went in for a test drive and was negotiating a final price. Settled on a price and scheduled to come in to finalize deal two days later only to find they decided to sell it the day before. What made it worse was the sales team didn't even bat an eyelash that they did that and tried to shift blame to a sales guy who wasn't even there.
