Southside Wings on Old National is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall spot. It's strictly grab n go, and one thing that always throws me off is that it doesn't even smell like food inside, which is usually a major red flag for me. That said, I keep coming back. My go to order is the 10 piece medium hot and lemon pepper wings with ranch fries, and the flavor is consistently on point. The seasoning and sauce combination is so good that it's the main reason I've ordered from them well over 100 times through Uber Eats. The biggest downside is the size of the wings. They're more like wing pieces than full wings, and they're definitely on the small side. Even more frustrating is the consistency of the orders. I'd estimate they've gotten something wrong about one out of every three times I've ordered, whether it's missing items, incorrect fries, or just overall mistakes with the order itself. If you're looking for huge wings or flawless service, this probably is not your spot. I came here on 5/15/2025 and I ordered the wings I usually get when I go to a wing spot in Atlanta which is honey mild lemon pepper which is awesome , but this time around was completely different. Decided to try this place because they are known for small wings. Ordered a 20 piece lemon pepper and half honey hot. Also ordered the Philly cheese steak. I really wanted to like this place but as I was sitting waiting on the order the place just didn't smell fresh at all. It smelled like old grease, and there was somebody banging the whole time like they were repairing something in the back inside. I'm giving it an additional star because the young lady at the counter took a baby wipe and wiped off the top of the containers before packing up the meal. The food tasted the way the place smells... like old grease. The Philly cheese steak meat did not taste fresh, and some of the wings did not look fresh either.... I really want to give this place zero stars if possible . I ordered carry out 2 flavors of wings . Lemon pepper and Cajun . The wing were so small and dry . Salty . Fries were salty and greasy with seasoning sprinkled on top . The cheesesteak was decent . Lacked flavor . Overall I will never order or even give them any other chance . Sweet tea that I ordered tasted like sugar & water no tea . I gave this place w chance because I support local community carryouts , restaurants and diners . I'm here to disregard every other review on this place and give the most brutally honest review possible. My buddy and I were coming home from a Braves game last Saturday night and I've always heard that food slaps in the hood so I figured it's on the way so why the Hell not try it. It was one of the only places open at 12:30 at night. The moment I walked in I got a huge whiff of must and Urine but I soon became nose blind to it. We got there right before a crowd of people ( for whatever reason at 12:30) came in. Our orders were taken quickly and the workers actually had a smile and a good attitude. It took nearly 20 minutes to get our food which was pretty bad but we passed time in this legendary establishment by watching the Discovery Channel until almost 1AM on a box TV. I had to use the restroom and boy let me tell you I wouldn't touch anything in there with double gloves on. YUCK! In fact this whole place was pretty grimy. Now for the important part, the food: I ordered a Philly Combo with wings and fries. Everything came out hot and fresh, the fries were nicely seasoned, the wings were crunchy and juicy at the same time. And let me stop when I say this had to be probably the best Philly I've had to date. The peppers and onion were cooked to perfection and combined with well seasoned and perfectly cooked meat & cheese on top of a soft pillowy bun. The wings flavor were slightly off but texture was great and the flavor profile was still very good. This was probably the worst meal I've had in a very long time The reviews for this place look good I ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich and chicken wings combo. The 6 chicken wings were very small overcooked there was no sauce at all. The Philly cheese steak sandwich bread was hard and there was no sauce or anything on the sandwich it was just bread meat and a little Bit of cheese. My family just moved here from another state; so we enjoy trying new restaurants. Let me tell y'all this DON'T GO THERE especially if you have a seafood allergy. We asked 3 different ppl if they cooked the seafood in a different grease because one of our friends is allergic to it and each one said yes. I ordered on Postmates and I was very disappointed! The fries were doused in season salt, they were partially frozen.
