Sides were really good too, particularly the odd but tasty cheese cubes. Price is good for sure but there is no inside seating. The server folks seemed a little preoccupied maybe? Super friendly though. The menu is a little difficult to navigate but certainly worth the trouble. I'll be happy to go back next time I'm in town.

I know what you're thinking--a deli inside a gas station? But as a lifelong local, let me tell you:…read moreJack's has always been a staple in this area. It used to be a standalone spot, and when the original owner retired, Marathon had the good sense to buy out his recipes--because they're that good. Jack's isn't fancy, but it doesn't need to be. Their pulled pork and barbecue are local legends, and the prices? Practically unbeatable. They mainly serve breakfast and lunch, making it a perfect grab-and-go stop on the way to work or while out running errands. Personally, I love the two hot dog meal--it's affordable and filling. Their breakfast sandwiches (bacon or sausage) are also top-tier. No frills, just honest, delicious food. Sure, there's not much to say about the ambiance--it's a simple corner deli inside a gas station. But for the quality and price, it's more than worth it. I'd call it a classic greasy spoon (in the best way), and I say that with affection. It's not unclean or sketchy--it's just a no-nonsense local gem. If you're into good food at a good price and don't need fancy vibes, Jack's Cardinal Market is well worth a visit.

The Shakery is a cool "Mom & Pops" eater with a plethora of sweet treats. There is a place to stand and order outside, a drive thru, outside seating and indoor seating. You will see people of all ages. It's really nostalgic. The environment is nice & clean. Staff is friendly and I must say they did an excellent job for as busy as they were. There sweet treats vary from classic shakes to "blizzard-like" shakes, sundaes, specialty shakes, banana splits & slushies. I chose a peanut butter shake which was so creamy and full of peanut butter flavor. SO GOOD!!!!!! Perfect consistency for dipping my French fries in. Yea...I'm one of those lol. Scarlett chose a cherry slushie. You will get your sweet treats before your food. I ordered a hamburger and she got a kids grilled cheese and fries. The kids portion is a full size cheese sandwich btw. We enjoyed our time at the Shakery. The food is made to Order so don't expect drive-thru mentality. It's worth the wait I promise.
