Visited here on SUN 10/12 to watch "The Smashing Machine" while we were vacationing in the Cooperstown HOF & we were pleased all around. Definitely a little bit of an older, smaller style cinema located in the middle of the Southside Mall in Oneonta NY, but the actual theaters themselves are pleasantly upgraded with beautiful reclining leather seats with a swivel table. one of my favorite places to go to when visiting from Long Island. You can't beat an $8 movie. The staff is ALWAYS friendly & helpful. tonite it was a father son duo, : Tyler & his dad. . We saw the "now you see it " movie. loved the first 2 , but this was my favorite of the 3 . smiled & laughed through the entire movie. hated to see it end. I highly recommend this theater & I highly recommend the movie . Definitely want to see it again , so many twists & turns. read more

Wow, not many places where I can see a big screen movie in super comfortable chairs with two tickets and a popcorn for $14.00. Friendly staff and a great line up of current running movies. In the lobby they also had movie posters from fairly current movies to buy for $5.00. These are the posters you would find on bus stops or outside the theater. We saw Topgun which we throughly enjoyed. Sony 4K is a must way to see movies on the big screen. read more

movie theater smelled very musty. The seats are outrageously uncomfortable. The screen and the sound was bad. Just what I thought. I should've waited for it to be streaming and watched it at home in comfort with better quality visuals and sound. Not really worth going to this movie theater. oh, and the popcorn was absolutely disgusting. What happened to buttery delicious movie popcorn? this tasted like it just came out of the microwave with one squirt of butter. read more

Small theatre with decent prices. The tickets and snacks here are fairly inexpensive compared to NYC. Ticket prices have gone up since I started school here in 2014. The chicken tenders go for $4 now which is still a pretty fair deal. The movie tickets are $7.50 and they do not offer any discounts for students. A large popcorn is practically the same size as buying another ticket. I'd say the lines are pretty disorganized. You can buy tickets where you buy snacks, so people aren't in a uniform line which results in more arguments about line cutting. Pretty much one person per row has their phones out during the movie and no staff members call them out on it, so it's pretty annoying. You're going to have to speak up for yourself if you want to watch the movie with less distractions. The bathrooms here are tiny and not well lit. The door blends into the wall. I came here one night to watch the Barbie movie a little later than the show time. They refused to let me and my friends buy a ticket and were insanely rude. Didn't even make eye contact with us and walked away as we were speaking. Do not come here. read more

I'm out here for my son's Cooperstown tournament so I figure it was our last day before he goes into the camp.. so after eating movies was the option that was chosen... The staff is sooo nice and helpful... My guys went and got icees (red and blue-mixed) not too many places allow you to do both.. but they do it soo professional with swirling it around. The place is a little out dated and could need some updating and possibly replanning the seating, there is only one stairway to go up and down... I would think it's a fire hazard or in a crisis we are all in trouble if we're at the top row... the seats in the theater give you no support and lean back pretty far. Some seats were even out of commission and had caution tape around them. I would definitely return just based of the staff hospitality but in need of upgrading for sure. read more

First of all I would like to make a formal complaint against a so called manager named Reilly to her higher up Nathan. I asked your manager "Reilly" if there were refills for the novelty buckets and cups we purchased for Dr. Strange 2. She told me do to Covid they were not doing refills. I stated so I would have to buy a new bucket and cup for soda and popcorn and she stated yes. I told her that didn't make any sense. "Mind you the staff were not wearing masks when serving any food, so how does that reflect covid? Your manager continued by saying I don't make the rules and insulted my intelligence as I was walking away. I told her I was not trying to be disrespectful but she continued in a childish manner making statements as if she needed to have the last word. Communication is key in a public environment and she has none. If "No Refills" was stated at purchase I then would not have requested the novelty bucket and cup. She is unprofessional and I felt racially profiled.This will be addressed in person! read more

The good - the screen was decent sized and the picture was good. Prices are not bad ($6.50 for matinee). The bad - theatre 7 looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 90s and there was a kind of nasty smell that never really went away. Also, and this is personal preference, but the music they play pre-show was absolutely terrible. All in all, not a terrible theatre for films you don't care about seeing in really good theatres. read more

If I could give a lower rating I would. This was by far the worst theater I ever went to in my entire life. The managers namely Ajanae and general manager Nathan are highly inexperienced and lacks customer service experience. They have no respect, integrity nor customer service experience when dealing with patrons. They take their "no food policy" way to seriously and literally "TRIED" to embarrass us and escort us from the theater in front of other patrons because we had food. The so called manager AJanae approached us in the theater at our seats in an aggressive disrespectful manner and rudely stated "I said no food allowed and now you all have to leave the theater". What a joke, we literally ignored her request to leave because for one, we paid for our tickets and two her rude disrespectful behavior did not warrant any respect whatsoever ever. As a "manager" her approach was childish, amateurish and unprofessional. I could only assume they're used to dealing with teenagers and patrons who don't speak up, so they get away with speaking to them in that manner. When I asked for their manager they said there was none and gave us the number to the front desk of the theater to make a complaint. I went to the management office in the mall who provided the name of the "General manager" Nathan. He called me and did not listen to the complaint, he said he was there and agreed with his manager's behavior and admitted that they go into the theater every thirty minutes to catch people eating. They clearly don't have enough work if they pride on being food patrol police. Based on his comments and admitted practices, leads to concerns on him as well. He also stated there was no where to further escalate my complaint. The policy is their policy however, how they execute the policy is the problem. I highly recommend the owner of this establishment re-evaluate their choice of employees and provide further training to their staff. read more

We love this little place. They finally updated the seating in most theaters and the lobby. The prices are still the lowest around. We love the rewards card. It's a very nice place to see a movie and enjoy yourself. read more

This was my first time here. Took a moment to locate because it's located in a ran down shopping mall. A lot of the storefronts are no longer in business and on the way in and out there's a terrible odor that i can't seem to figure out what the stench is but it's horrible. Besides these issues i believe the customer service was awesome. My family and I ended up seeing "Equalizer 2" and it was incredible just like the first one! Denzel never disappoints! Only thing disappointing here was the seating situation. Some seats had yellow caution tape on them and the seats squeaked more than my dogs favorite chew toy! I also didn't like the seating against the wall. Seemed liked a fire hazard if you ask me. It's like sitting in a booth at a restaurant and once you need to use the restroom you have to make the whole row get up just to get out! I'm not trying to do all that! Looks like you guys may need to consider remodeling this location soon. read more

Older movie theatre, lacking "stadium" type seating, but decently well maintained. The one room I was in had a small blemish on the screen, but I zoned it out after a while. Appropriately priced tickets ($8.25 for an adult, matinee only $6.00), employees were very nice and cool (let us bring in some Wendy's, considering the movie was almost starting). Well-behaved audience. Not the best theatre I've been in, but probably the easiest choice if you're based out in Cooperstown (about 25 minute drive). read more

Been going here for years. The prices are affordable. In fact on Tuesdays you can see a movie for $5.00. Only minor complaint is some of the screens are all recliners than theres theatre 1 and I think one other with recliners near the screen but if you prefer the farthest row from the screen they have regular seats. Also the $1.00 popcorn on Wednesdays used to be bigger. Gotta give them credit for making me feel safe post pandemic. Very clean. read more

A nice theater with a very pleasant staff. The list of rules posted outside is starting to resemble the list of banned items at Hogwarts. They're gonna need a bigger board soon. My only issue was that they didn't have a line solely for tickets. They had three lines for tickets and candy. So we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get in. It just didn't make sense. They should at least install an automated kiosk. I would recommend this place for sure. Try and buy your tickets early or online (update: I went to their website and there is a button to buy tickets, but it looks sketchy and they charge a dollar per ticket for buying through them. I don't know why the theater doesn't do it directly). Better yet, look into a MoviePass. Enjoy! read more

Its a decent theater, Price is great. Employees are very friendly. The seats could be better and redone.

This move theater does its job. It's never too busy, in fact, on a regular day there's probably only 5 other people in the theater with you. It's a very typical movie theater that you would find in a small town. Some of the screens are more updated than others, and the same can be said for the seating. It's nice that it does play first run movies and the movies are very cheap! read more

With recent updates the prices went up slightly. They have $5.00 tickets before noon and all day Tuesday but never 3D. The recliners are a nice addition. Unlike most movie theaters if you go on a weekday while school is in session there are no showings before noon. read more

A friendly group of employees but extremely cramped seating in their matinee areas. Worse than an airline.

It's a local, rural movie theater. So what. Its clean, reasonably priced and available. And the staff is unfailingly polite. It gets the latest movies although I do wish they showed more independent films. That said, I'm glad it's so close. I live in Brooklyn most of the year. Try going to a movie there, parking, dealing with rude cashiers-and paying $15 for the privilege! Geeez. I have to listen all summer to locals put down NYC, and now these same people put down Oneonta's only movie theater. What rubes. read more

This place has horrible customer service. We bought tickets an hour before the movie when i was holding my backpack and the guy did not tell me i wouldn't be aloud in because of that. We came back in to go see the movie and was then told that i could not come in. That i couldn't leave my bag outside the theater or behind the counter. They would not check in the bag or anything. I then went to the mall security desk to ask if i could put in behind the desk. I waited for the guard to return and when he did He stared right at me and started walking the other way. Nice job for them to ignore a 6 month pregnant woman standing at their security desk. I went up to him and asked him and he said they weren't aloud. We were dropped off so i had no place to put it. So i got a refund on our tickets. I should have gotten a refund on the snacks too. What would they do if i had my diaper bag with me and a newborn. I will never come here again. read more

I think this is the smallest theatre i have ever been too. But i will admit the staff was pleasant . The popcorn was ok.

The larger theaters are nice, however the smaller ones need some serious attention. the chairs are very uncomfortable and the stickey floors are a bit of a turn off. read more
