They worked directly with my insurance company to make them aware of all of the hail damage to my house and was straight forward in what would be covered and what would not. When we reviewed the estimate from the insurance company together, they had plans to maximize what we were getting and provided options to help reduce my out-of-pocket expenses. We went with their roofing company and they waive their 10% adjuster fee and I'm very glad I did. Their roofing team was very professional and took their time to do the work correctly even with venting changes I made. The material used was top of the line and they worked with me until I was completely satisfied before they left. They even came back (after they were paid) and replaced the roof vents that I wasn't happy with in a week. I seen other neighbors go with other companies and the quality of the materials and installation were well below what was done on my house. I highly recommend Frontline Adjusters.

Definitely good about getting the money to do the work. I got a full roof and full siding claim…read morethrough my insurance. Frontline did all the leg work there. I got my roof replaced. Fine work, whatever crew they got there to do that. But.... Then the siding guy came and poked holes in my 2 week old roof because he used a pump jack system for my 1 story house. Totally wrong system to use. He poked holes on every side of the house and bent the drip edge to hell. When I contacted Frontline with pictures. I was told "that's common practice and the crew will seal it when done. No problems" That's not how any of this works. The underlayment cannot be sealed again. The shingle cannot be made whole again. Squirting some Black Jack is not a "seal". That is a bandaid. And we all know bandaid fall off eventually. The response to the drip edge being bent up was "that is a gutter skirt and will be flattened when gutters are installed." Mfer, the integrity of that metal is compromised now the drip edge is bent. They'll get you the money. Just keep it and hire someone yourself. You'll never get quality work out of anyone they hire because they hire the lowest bidder and pocket the rest. Edit: added photos and fixed typo. Maybe add more later when they finish

He always told me that if we were audited he would help us with the IRS. Well he passed away and my friend that recommended and also used him was audited and left holding the bag for $17k (Previous accountant NOT Ed Bray) This is not the case with Edward Bray he also does an awesome job. Ed really knows the tax codes and does everything by the book. He is very knowledgable and at the same time he always seems to find a way to get us a return. Here it is July 7th and we're filing late as usual. Hopefully we get a return because we had a short sale on a building we owned. Ed is getting up there in years and has had some health issues lately that have restricted his hours, but he still does a great job and is highly recommended.

During a kitchen redesign, Mark sketched a clever reconfiguration of our refrigerator and washer/dryer layouts. This new arrangement breathed new life into the dining area and opened up space! His ideas are sophisticated but he's able to execute the approach in a way that's practical so the contractors doing the grunt work are able to run with it. And let me tell you from the horror stories I've heard when designers/engineers/contractors can't see eye to eye, you don't want to be caught in the middle of that my friends! Especially if it's in your own house! Mark also made some great recommendations for a custom marble coffee table. My handyman Uncle had a beautiful slab of marble in his backyard for years and was kind enough to donate it to me. We wanted to design a minimal steel base that would complement our modern white leather couch in the living room. Mark drew up some plans -- but perhaps most impressive was that he was able to point us to a metal worker in Suburban Chicago! A graceful referral such as this is priceless! To end it with a Seinfeld nod... if you need help with your next design project.. these guys are the "Master of your domain!"

Matt and Elizabeth are creative thinkers who don't compromise function for aesthetics - an important trait in architects who dream big and then when it comes time to living/working in the space, you realize how dysfunctional "the big design" is. I'd attach pictures of my store if I could (maybe you can see it in my profile, not sure about that). I can't tell you the number of compliments I receive and I can't adequately explain just how great it feels to be in the space. My parameters included a "green design" with all recycled materials and Matt and Elizabeth researched the options and were able to keep me in budget, on time, and in keeping with the strict eco-friendly guidelines I required. I wholeheartedly recommend MGLM and look forward to having the opportunity to work with them again.

We used Doug for several projects in our house. Most recently he designed plans and drafted prints…read moreto remodel the facade of our house and to add a front porch. Let me start by saying this was a DIY project and I can be pretty picky and demanding (which, in my defense, I find you have to be or else things get screwed up). Also, we live in Oak Park, which can be a tough place to get a building permit. With the deck stacked against him like this, Doug far exceeded our every expectation. We were very pleased with the quality of his work. The design he came up with is terrific. Stylistically, it fits our neighborhood and our personal taste. He took the time to drive around our community to get ideas for our project. The actual prints were great too. His prints are very detailed, which made getting the permit about as painless as possible. The prints were also very accurate too; we have not had to change anything on the fly. If we had to come up with a criticism, I would say he over engineered our porch. The porch is sturdier than the rest of the house. Our joke is that we built the Sandberg Architecture and Design tornado shelter. His responsiveness and service are exceptional. I wanted to complete this project on a very short timetable, which gave him little time to draw up the prints. He did not push back at all, and finished a couple days ahead of schedule. He was flexible about meeting. He had no problems with me calling to brainstorm random ideas. He promptly responded to all calls and e-mails. He delivered the stamped prints in person on super short notice. I could not imagine a better working relationship than what we had with Doug. I was most impressed by his handling of the village beaurocrats during the permit review process. The village gave us a hard time over several specifications for the windows and doors, which the manufacturers don't even test for (air infiltration rates). Doug did not complain about the village or overreact. He setup an appointment with the village plan examiner, worked his magic, and walked out with a permit. He is very considerate of the client's needs. When we interviewed him, we like him more than the other architects because he designs projects to the needs and wants to the client and environment. Other architects we interviewed tried to push their own agenda and style, which could leave you with a project that does not fit your community or your taste. We also found his rates to be reasonable. We felt like we got a lot of bang for our buck by using Doug. Some architects may quote you a lower rate, but they will probably take a longer time and don't have Doug's credentials. We also got proposals from some architects that broke down charges for overhead and other random expenses. Doug did not nickel and dime us over his time or his overhead. The service and quality of work we got from Doug was far and away more than what we expected for the amount of money he charged us. After working with Doug over the past several months I can say he honestly loves the work. I would get e-mails from him at random times suggesting that he was always thinking about the project. He studied the architecture from the time period of our house and in our community to come up with a historically accurate design. He really seems to enjoy every aspect of the work. If you are looking for an architect who does great work, is easy to work with, and charges a fair rate, Sandberg Architecture and Design is for you.

But if you want to add a bathroom, and you live in a town with strict requirements, you're going to need an architect. We interviewed four and chose to work with Frank. It was a great experience (and he was very tolerant of me nitpicking and memorizing every last thing)--I never would have done it if not forced, but he made things run so much more smoothly. Despite paying his fee, his expertise was well worth it not only for the detailed plans, but for taking care of the permitting process, getting bids from multiple contractors and meeting with us & the contractor weekly to review progress. Not to mention the reduced stress, since if the contractor had a question or wanted to charge us extra for something (or even wanted to get paid) it went through Frank first. We ended up having him do the plans for our existing bathroom redo as well. We don't have anything else to remodel in our house, but if I did I would definitely give Frank a call.
