So, if you're reading this, we have something in common. I will try and be as succinct as possible (almost impossible for me) The date was September 26, 2024. I live in Saint Petersburg Florida and the reports were coming in that hurricane Helene would hit my area. I have been living here for 8 years, so after living through 8 years of hurricane seasons and hearing about the big one that would hit Tampa Bay this year, I shrugged my shoulders and decided to stay in my house. That evening the winds were blowing the waves in the bay crashing against the sea walls. No big deal, I've seen it before. My wife, my dog and I were all tucked in bed safely knowing that my full house generator would kick in if the winds got too bad. All of a sudden, I started getting cold and wet and realized that there was water up to the top of my bed. UH OH. At day break after the hurricane subsided and I was able to get to my front door. I realized that we had over 3 feet of water in the house. This was the most catastrophic event in my life and in Tampa Bays life. I quickly called my friends to come and rescue us. My cars were flooded and we were trapped. My brother called me that morning to see how we were doing. One of his best friends is a 20+ year retired public adjuster (I had never even heard of one). His exact words to me were... "Don't even think about dealing with your insurance company without hiring a public adjuster". He gave me Ron's number at A. Schoeneman & Co. This had to be the best advice I had ever gotten from my big brother (I am in my 60's); I could not imagine dealing with all of this without the help of Ron and his team. I wish I called United States Adjusters from the beginning. I initially tried to deal with the insurance company directly and they offered 10% of what I ended up recovering with the US Adjusters team. After I contacted them, they got back to me immediately. Jose's depth of knowledge in this industry is breathtaking. He knows exactly how to communicate with insurance adjusters and he has a background in construction so he could seemingly rebut any none sense arguments that the insurance adjuster tried to make. He is extremely responsive and stayed on top on my claim with great professionalism. Wens is equally responsive and pleasant to work with. United States Adjusters helped me recover an additional good chinch, about an additional 40-50%. Once United States Adjusters pushed things as much as they could, they suggested that I contacted an attorney that they recommended because they knew I could recover more but they also know how insurance companies work. In my case, the insurance company needed the threat of legal action to provide the full amount of recovery. They assembled my legal team who did an fabulous job and along with United States Adjusters helped me recover another 50%. Wens went out of his way recommending other professionals like contractors to help with renovations even if that was not part of the services they were providing. You cannot go wrong with United States Adjusters. They are the best team you can wish for.
