Not sure what type of misleading message the reviewer Chris C is trying to convey about this…read morebeautiful track. Victoria Hills is a challenging course roughly 45 minutes northeast of downtown orlando. Good practice area, nice layout, well manicured, and great bar and grill. Victoria Hills Golf Course is located in Deland, easily accessed by traveling east on I-4 from Orlando. The course is nestled in a nice neighborhood, with the holes running throughout the beautiful homes and into preserve areas. There is a nice driving range and chipping area directly behind the clubhouse. There is a larger pitching area closer to the 1st tee box. The course i takes has 4-5 sets of tees, with each one presenting its own unique challenge. The course is made difficulty by the many well placed bunkers and large greens with much ongilation. Shot placement is essential, several of the holes wind right and left. As Dave O mentioned, the fairways get a little tight in the summertime, but the greens always run nicely and there is plenty of fluff in the rough. Overall, Victoria Hills is a great course to play just outside of Orlando and is well worth the drive. Challenging layout, fast greens, and beautiful scenery provide for a nice time. Highly recommended.

I really wanted to like this course. We live five minutes away and were hoping this could be our…read morelocal go-to spot. The round even started off promising thanks to the starter, who was one of the friendliest and most helpful starters I've met. That ended up being the only highlight. Course conditions were far below what we expected for the price. Fairways were patchy and rough, bunkers looked unmaintained, and the cart paths were in such bad shape that it took away from the experience. The greens actually rolled surprisingly well, but that was the only positive in terms of conditions. The real issue--and what ultimately ruined our day--was a very unsettling encounter with a golf shop employee. On a short downhill par 4, a ball landed within about 10 feet of one of the guys we had been paired with. No warning, no "fore," no sign that anyone was hitting into us. Out of understandable frustration after almost getting hit, he tossed the ball back toward the fairway. A few minutes later, a man in his late 20s or early 30s sped up behind us, said a quick "sorry for almost hitting you," and immediately followed it by scolding us for throwing his ball. He then stated he was an employee, told us he was heading back to the shop, and threatened to end our round on the spot. He made bizarre comments about our playing partner's "ego" and how far he hits the ball, then stormed off to confront the other group--nearly getting into an altercation with them. My wife and I were stunned. It was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unnecessary. We finished the hole while he yelled from the cart path about "getting us kicked off the course." Thankfully nothing came of it, but it absolutely destroyed the round. For a course already struggling with conditions, the last thing I'd expect is an employee actively chasing away customers. We genuinely wish this could be our neighborhood course, but we won't return as long as this kind of behavior is tolerated. Golf should be enjoyable--not stressful or confrontational.

We were easily able to discuss our plans over the phone, and make all arrangements, including adding turkey-carving and omelet-making to our brunch. They were also extremely accommodating with regards to adding extra tables so we could set up a table for cards & picture signing, a table for the cake, and a table for our own photo booth. Jackie was our contact person, and she was there the day of the event, making sure that everything was better than we had even asked for. She went above and beyond by bringing guava juice to add to our mimosa bar, so everyone could try something fun. The manager in charge of the food also did an excellent job, making sure that everything remained well-maintained and stocked. I loved how Jackie and her team stepped up when it came time to cut and distribute my Mom's cake to the 60+ guests in attendance. We had a surprise party here for my Mother when she turned 60, and this was for her 80th, so hopefully this place will still be going strong so we can hold her 100th here as well!
