Established in 1953 Riviera Country Club still has all the old school charm and nostalgia of that era, although I've never hit a ball here I've been here on several occasions for dinner and cocktails. It definitely has been well maintained and I doubt if there have been many renovations to the club house over the years its decor and dark wooden finishes have been preserved to reflect the history of this club. The bar and dining areas are dated and that's one of the attractive qualities that I enjoy every time I come here. The staff is just as polished and provides great service and the food although simple is presented very well and delicious. I wouldn't change a thing.

A few colleagues and I were in town and had a free morning and ended up playing 18 here. We didn't have anything with us (clubs, golf attire, etc) but this place was perfect for us. Everyone was friendly and this definitely felt like 'Old Florida'. It's really quite charming. Everything was about $70, including 18 holes, cart, balls, and club rentals. It's not the most beautiful course but was great for our intermediate group! Would definitely recommend :)

This is the most wonderful little golf course you will ever come across. From the moment you enter the premises, their is a feeling in the air that rings of happiness and good old fashioned charm. The greens are well kept year-round, thanks to their superintendent Fred Rich. The facility is run by the Meyers family, a humble, down-to-Earth group of some of the best people I've ever come across. The rates are unbeatable for such a high-quality experience, it is truly a treat for golfers of any skill level. The course isn't particularly long, with scoring opportunities for skilled golfers, but mid-level players must work their way around various challenges that include well placed water hazards, strategically located trees, and fast greens that can occasionally be firm. Ever since they moved to Champions Bermuda 6 or 7 years ago, no public golf course in Volusia county has been able to match the quality of the greens. However, the quality of the greens is only surpassed by the quality of the people that make Riviera the pure golfing experience that it is. If you're a local who has never played here, or a tourist just stoping by, work out time to play this gem. I promise you won't regret it.

Loved breakfast at the Riviera Country Club this morning. Server Miss Roberta was a delight.

Best kept secret in town. You don't have to be a member to go to the restuarant. The prices are good, a lot of regulars come eat everyday

The course was challenging yet offering a pleasant outing for mid or high handicappers. Plenty of elevation changes, water and wide fairways. Greens were fast but true. Small clubhouse but nice pro shop and restaurant/bar to enjoy afterwards.

Course is looking and playing amazing it is clear that the addition of a new superintendent at CBD…read morehas provided a positive influence on this course as well! The only suggestion I could make is please try and cut the holes in places that are less than two degrees of slope and less than 3 degrees of overall downhill slope as per the USGA recommended guidelines. I have a slope meter and oftentimes the holes are cut in places with more than three degrees of slope at the hole and over 6 degrees of total slope at the downhill which is typically reserved for major championships on the PGA tour just to put things into perspective. A little focus/education on this topic will go a long way in overall playability and will also improve pace of play. I don't think this is intentional I just don't believe the person(s) cutting the holes knows any better so a little training may go a long way. The above is just friendly advice that can be fixed easily to improve the overall quality of experience on the course regarding the correct way to cut a golf hole as I said originally the course is really playing great and a great value overall is to be had at Plantation Bay! Here is the ruling/suggestion from the USGA (again many locations I tracked during my round yesterday where over 3 degrees (almost double the suggested slope at hole) on green speeds of about a 9.5/10 if I had to guess. The USGA Course Rating System Guide says, "When a downhill roll on the Stimpmeter is 2 times greater in length than uphill, it is considered moderately sloped. When a downhill roll on the Stimpmeter is 3 times greater in length than uphill, it is considered steeply sloped."14 Over the years, the Green Section has suggested: The slope of a major portion of a putting green should usually not be greater than 3 percent (1.7 degrees), although some areas may exceed this for special reasons, such as difficult terrain or dramatic architectural effect.1s Based on current information, any slope 3% (1.7 degrees) or greater on a 10' Stimpmeter reading is too steep for hole use.

We raised a glass to cheers my dear friend and a big thank you for the invite and I may have planted a kiss on her cheek. The private venue offered some socializing we've been missing with our good friends and of course the incorporation of some social distancing, but still the accommodations offered an intimate setting and the staff completely understands the importance of giving everyone space but still managed to provide exceptional service. I know there's an invite pending for a wonderful dinner in the near future and after touring the restaurant and sports bar it's looking like I'm going to have to drop a few more hints so I can experience it all. This is a beautiful Country Club with lots of amenities with a small membership, there's nothing not to like about this place...

4.5 stars for one of my favorite public golf courses in the Central Florida area…read more I was visiting Titusville a few years ago when a buddy recommended that head up the road and check out the Jones Course at LPGA International in Daytona. I hadn't really heard of the course before, but the afternoon prices were pretty reasonable and the Golfpass reviews were good, so I decided to give it a try. I arrived at the venue, which is more like a community, about an hour early. One of the more-discussed issues with this course is that they can run out of golf carts, so I went up to grab a cart early to make sure I didn't run into any problems. I then went into the beautiful interior with the pro shop overlooking the course and a gigantic restaurant (with an awesome patio) next door. I checked in for my round, bought a ball bucket token, and headed out. While I wasn't thrilled that the range balls weren't included with the round, the price was cheap and my wife and I received plenty of range balls to hit. The range is grass (huge plus) and pretty spread out so that you don't have to be too close to people. The putting and chipping areas are also quite large, so we were able to warm up just fine. The reason this course is one of my favorites in Central Florida is it is kept in great condition for a public course. I've always found the greens to roll fast and true, while the various hole setups are interesting enough to keep your attention without being too challenging to play with my wife and other friend. The course can get a little packed, but the pace generally moves well enough that we get done in 3-4 hours (which compared to other public courses is really fast). Overall, LPGA International provides a great public golf course experience. If you are looking to try out a nice golf course in Central Florida without the nice course prices, you should definitely give this spot a look.

You can buy balls at the range but sometimes the credit card part isn't working. So I'd recommend purchasing a code at the shop. You can't pay online for your tee time, so you gotta stop in the shop anyways. The guys working the bag drop off are slow to say hi and welcome you. Gone are the days when they run up to your car and help. Pretty much put my own bag on the cart before he came over. The course itself is beautiful. Lots of sand and water. The greens are super fast. When it's not busy, you can do 18 in 3.5 hours. There are bathrooms along the course and a cart girl. I'd say other courses have more service throughout, like water coolers, ball washing stations, etc. The bar and restaurant are closed, as well as the little bar along the course, for coronavirus. The pro shop has the usual stuff, and there's a bathroom there. Carts don't have the electronic mapping or scoring. The score card doesn't have a map or visual of each hole because the other course score card is on the back. So pay attention to the signage when you reach the first tee box to get a sense of the layout of the hole. A lot of long holes. Didn't lose too many balls on the hills course vs the jones course. It's a fun course but I'd say Disney courses are much better for the same price.
