It was 5 dollars for entry no discounts. A little steep for a park but it's a city park. Not even city employees or police get a break we were told. A short drive in and we were at the parking lot. There was 2 courses. My daughter hadn't thrown in years so we planned on just practicing a little. There's actually 3+ practice baskets in one area. I've nEver seen that before. After getting some confidence there, we decided to play 2 holes. It was a good time. First hole gave us even more confidence as it was long but down hill and open. A very easy par. 2nd hope we played was short but very uphill. Also a rewarding par. After that we called it a morning. A Great initial viewing of the course, and plan to be back soon.

Reed Canal Park is a nice addition to the community around it. It is not a huge park by any means,…read morehowever it is a pleasant enough place and it is kind of cool to watch the kids feeding the turtles. Apparently, feeding the turtles is a pretty commonplace things here, because the turtles knew the minute they seen human beings to swim towards the bridge and wait for the inevitable downpour of food offerings. There are two entrances to the park. One has swings and all that and the other one really just focuses on the little water there. I would definitely recommend that if you were in the area to stop by. Make sure you bring some kind of food offering for the turtles. There are also plenty of ducks and other birds around and while there are signs asking you not to feed the birds bread, they do say that they like rice and other things.

It was very informational and neat to see a little piece of history. Once we were done there we got on the Bridge walkway. We did not realize how long the Park Trail was, which is 17 miles! We decided we are going to rent some bikes when it gets a little warmer and try our hand at finishing the path. However, we did walk some of it though, and it was beautiful. An exceptional course. We drove up to New Smyrna last…read moreweekend with one inital reason, we saw this course. Yeah, a crazy idea, but I like a crazy idea. from south Florida it was about 3 hours. We arrived at 9am, and figured there was a chance we would have the place to ourselves. That turned out to not be, but it wasn't too busy, maybe 15 other people. We started off and did pretty well. Some holes were tough if we couldn't keep it in the fairway but a lot of fun different holes. One hole, I think 10, had a hanging basket, which we had never seen before. I'm happy to say i pulled out a par on that one. about half way through the round there was an extra 4 holes we could play if we wanted to. We did. I'm glad we mad the drive up. The facilities were nice, the parking area was well kept, and there wasn't even a charge to enter. I hope to make it back up again next year, it was too much fun.

This is a fairly new and great little park on the side of Eustis where there isn't much in the way…read moreof recreational areas, except nearby Carver Park. A paved path surrounds a retention pond. The path is about a half-mile around, good for walking, of course, and even for biking. We live close to the park, so we ride it when we have less time to spare or as part of a longer ride. You will see long legged water birds there, and occasionally a small alligator, especially in winter when they like to float in the sun. So no swimming allowed! There are also exercise stations every fifty feet or so, and recently they added a set of 18 disc golf nets for tournament or individual play. Some are near the pond while other nets are in the nearby woods on paths. There is also a fine rest room building with plenty of parking next to it. I believe there are a couple of picnic tables near the rest room building, as well as benches on the trail. If you go there to walk your dog, I would suggest using a leash as sometimes a dog roaming free wanders around and you will want to be able to control your fur baby. You probably won't run into a kitten with a fish hook in its side as we did. But I can report a happy ending as the little rascal is the latest member of our cat family.

They also have paintball, a skate park, BMX tracks, a dog park, indoor gym with a fitness center, basketball courts, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, and even a lakefront boat ramp with fishing access. You can hike the trails, kayak on the St. John's River, or fish in Lake Monroe or off the pier. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, BBQ grills, and a cool playground for the kids. Even dogs have their own park! Plus, there are primitive camping sites available. It felt super clean and safe, and parking was easy.
