I recommend this Vet 100% The staff is great. We never mind driving from Edmond to Guthrie anytime needed. The Vet is excellent. We just had to put our 19 year old Pug mix down and he was compassionate and made sure we were able to take time with him before we left. They offer a variety of services from nail clippings up to arranging a cremation for the dog. The prices are affordable. We've used them for well over 10years and will continue to. read more

In the area bc my parents just moved here, I have worked as a pet groomer for many years and I loved this vet, they were nice, professional and kind, and most important for me, they were straight to the point! The vet was kind and he made some jokes and asked me about myself he diagnosed my new cat and they sold me the meds and we were out of there in just a few minutes. The best part was the price, I could actually afford it, I honestly can't believe it! I knew our new cat had had ear mites and we had treated them but he was still not doing great so I figured he had ear infections and he looked at his ears said yep and got the meds no nonsense! Loved it!!! read more

Southpointe Veterinary Clinic - Wayne - Veterinarians Near Me - Guthrie, Oklahoma

They cleaned my dog's teeth today. It was an amazing job at an unheard of price! I will be coming back! I highly recommend!

Everything Dr. Steve is an amazing veterinarian who cares about the animals the price is amazing. Love these guys.

My husband's family has brought all of their cats to Southpointe for years and when we adopted 2 cats I started to take them here as well. Not only do they have amazing prices for shots, exams etc the staff is so friendly. I've never had a bad interaction & the Vet is very direct and will get the job done in a timely manner. I drive 30mins for this Veterinary Clinic and wish I could give it more than 5 stars! read more

The doctor and staff are great. They are priced fairly and very good with animals and animal owners. HIGHLY recommend.

Fantastic, caring, compassionate, very skilled vet. Jasmine is fantastic also. Love this office and the care they show for my pets.

I've been going to Southpoint veterinary Hospital for over 20 years when Dr. Hibbard was there now that they have changed the ownership they have gone downhill the vets. I really don't think understand everything that's going on with a pet when they're sick and they're breathing really hard and all they can do is take x-rays and bloodwork. I spent over $2000 within the last four months trying to figure out what was wrong with my little Lexi. She died on Sunday morning on 17 February. Our hearts are broken no explanation from the vets not even and I'm sorry when we went to talk to them last Monday, I will never ever bring my dog there again. They sold to a conglomerate and now it's just a money grab. I know a lot of you out there saying I never had a problem. Well, I never had a problem either until a week ago actually more than a week ago two months ago they kept checking her her blood work her x-rays and they kept saying we can't find anything and they could see that she was having a hard time breathing. The one thing I regret is I should've got a second opinion, maybe gone to the U of M and have somebody else take a look. I know this is lengthy, but I just wanna make sure nobody else has to go through with what my husband and I are going through now. read more

Southpointe Veterinary Clinic - My little dog Lexi - Veterinarians Near Me - Guthrie, Oklahoma

This is a country style vet that has a passion for the animals. Southpointe is reasonable and I drive from Edmond to Guthrie to go here. read more

I have been going to this vet's office for 25 years they are always there for you if you need them and if you have an emergency you can call the vet at home and he'll meet you at his office on a Sunday. He did that for me when my cat was having troubles going to the bathroom he's a saint read more

This is an old fashioned country vet. I came to him recently on recommendation from a friend. My service dog had chewed a dangling growth off of her leg, resulting in a huge bleeding hole that our former vet refused to treat until my disability check arrived. That caused Sadie to bleed for over two weeks until I found this delightful practice who treated her and allowed me to pay on upon receiving my payment. This is a vet who values a service dog's life/service over the almighty dollar. I had been with The Visiting Vet in Edmond for decades, but no more! I will be moving our family of pets to Guthrie and South Pointe Vet Clinic. read more

This veterinarian is fantastic! We have been going here for about three years, now. I am a long-time multiple dog owner and have seen many vets. None of them have provided the care that this clinic has. Recently, I had a new puppy spayed. He completed the procedure, watched her for the rest of the day. He gave me pain medications for her with explicit instructions on how and when to use them. However, he did such a good job with the procedure that she did not need more than two doses of the pain medication. Every encounter I have had with him or his staff has been excellent. They have been kind to my pets and straightforward with me. His pricing is very reasonable, and the care cannot be beat! My wife and I love this vet so much that we drive 20 miles to see him. read more

Wow. Truly blown away by the service and price of this place! While it may not be in the nicest of buildings, everything else about Dr. Schwandt and his staff make this place a for sure 5 star biz. Make sure to make an appointment before heading in to see them. We took in our dog Mr. Olof and were seen within about 5 minutes of arrival. He's had bad allergies for the last few months. Dr. Scwandt immediately recognized the problem, gave him a steroid shot and prescribed some antibiotics all within about 10 minutes of walking in the door. I was expecting a bill in the $80-100 range based on past experiences. The whole thing costs $35! Hi-ooooo! And thank you for asking, Mr. O has healed up very nicely and can't wait to get back to his bros at Southpointe. Thanks! read more

Love this place. Caring, affordable and quick. My Boxers Molly and Max's new favorite place. Wish I would have found them sooner.

I called in to get an appointment to see Dr Schwandt and the lady(and I use this loosely) that answered the phone was rude and apparently very bored with her job. She stated we aren't taking new clients and you should find another vet. I said I have brought dogs there before and she very rudely said well the next opening isn't till Monday the 13th and I told her I needed a vet before then and would look elsewhere, I asked her for her name and she said Meghan and then she hung up. Very rude and very surprised that he would put up with that kind of behavior. read more

So this is the second time I've come back to this veterinarian in four years. I think what we have to remember is that he's a great vet who has a lot of experience under his belt. Often people get used to the posh experience of the $500 spay and neuter and if that's your thing than great. If you're looking to reasonably fix your animal then this is your place. So maybe he didn't kiss your puppy or kitten when they left but that's OK because you can do all of that on the way home. I think it's important to be realistic and just know that he has the skills and know how to complete the task at hand. read more

I love the Veterinarian, he's very knowledgable & to the point. You also can't beat their prices. The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the staff is always rude! I have been taking my animals there 4 years and it never fails that I get spoken to rudely by one of the women at the front desk. read more

I have taken a few of my pets here. I did not see the same level of caring and love for the animals as two of the other vets in Guthrie, so I am no longer taking them to Southpointe. As many pet owners will agree, your pets are an important part of your family, almost like your kids. I want the best for my furry babies. My Lab hates getting her back nails trimmed and she was manhandled by the staff the last time they trimmed her nails. She doesn't get nasty; she just whines and whimpers. She's scared. After that experience, we decided to change vets. read more

We chose to go to this vet based off reasonable prices and no frills service. Our four month old puppy had his first vet experience here. The staff there was pretty impatient with him from the beginning. While cutting his nails, the vet cut his quick on first attempt and our 10 pound pup yelped in pain. The vet assistant then aggressively put him in a choke hold. From there our puppy was anxious and trying to get away. The vet assistant then put him in a muzzle. He never tried to bite or showed any sign that he would. As they continued to work on him his breathing became labored and tongue turned blue. I told the vet that I didn't think he could breath. The vet said he'd be ok, he was almost done. I left the room. Once he was done I took him outside and our puppy collapsed. We paid and left. On the ride home our puppy began coughing up blood. We were all traumatized. We now use a vet who comes to our house, this vet has never muzzled or choke held our dog, it's not necessary. I would suggest being aware of what you're walking into before visiting this vet. I don't give bad reviews. This was truly a horrible, unnecessary experience. read more

We recently moved to Guthrie and got a new puppy back in February. Dr. Schwandt was recommended from family and friends.. Let me say our little guy got very very sick.. We rushed him to the vet first thing in the morning with out an appointment they treated us respectful even as busy as they were. Within 5 minutes and vet was working on our little guy.. Check him for Parvo even though we had all the shots but the kennel gave him the first set, Dr was worried that they may not have given them.. He tested negative.. Gave him a two shots, antibiotics and vomiting medicine.. Within 24 hours our little guy is back to normal.. He also did surgery on my outside cat who burnt his paws and did a great job. And for prices they are very reasonable. I will be taking all my fur babies their.. Thank you all for the great service and the kindness you gave my baby.. read more

He is good! So is his staff. Very helpful and he knows his stuff. He's definitely worth the drive!

This is the veterinarian to use if you are in north OKC and all points towards Guthrie. You are able to schedule appts or just show up and your animal will be seen. Have always been allowed to watch as they check my dog out and Dr. Schwandt is very efficient and direct in his treatment of both animal and owner. The costs are extremely reasonable, compared to other veterinarians in the Edmond area. Will continue to use their services. read more
