Horrible defunct mall they somehow manage to keep open. The anchors are JC Penny (they still exist!?!) and a Macy's with low end clothing. Quite a few sports shoe stores are here. Was looking at Adidas Samba & the employee spoke to me in Spanish. I replied in English. He lowered his gaze, looked down & walked off shaking his head. Many homeless types in the food court area. I was here at 2pm. I could not imagine coming here after dark. read more

I like Southland mall however, it could use a little remodeling (which I think they are doing). It needs to feel more alive and vibrant. Southland Mall could use a face-lift, this mall is old and feel like granny style decor. And in my opinion adding more lighting and exposure to nature (sky ceiling windows) would increase the level of wanting to spend more time there. The food court should also be reinvented. They need more choices in ethnic foods which would be current with our times. read more

As far as malls go, this is about as sad and pitiful as it gets. The outside surrounding area is a ghost town. Inside the mall there are plenty of empty spaces for lease. When you walk in you just get a dark gloomy depressing feeling. read more

This mall is ok, it has some good stores like GameStop, Victoria Secrets, Guess, Bath & Body Works, JC Penny, Five Below, TJ Maxx, Macys. I have been coming to this Mall since the early 80's, before Hurricane Andrew, and before all the name changes. I have seen many stores come and go, employees come and go, and security officers come and go. I have been patronizing this Mall since the Florida Burdine's store was independent from Macy's! I have many fond memories from this Mall. Now, there are fresh new stores, kiosk in the center isle's, a merry-go-round, and a decent food court. Too bad we just lost the Starbuck's but we still have the Bath, Bed, & Body works (one of our favorite store's) Claire's and many shoe store's. TJ Maxx, Sears, JC Penny, Ross, Old Navy, Wild Wings, and a Movie Theatre (Regal) can all be accessed from the Mall. There is decent Italian restaurant serving up good Pizza as well. There are many other eateries surrounding the Mall to choose from as well, such as: Applebee's, Arby's, and Moon Thai & Japanese. Inside food court includes: Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, Lotus Express, Cajun Grill, DQ, Auntie Anne's baked Pretzel's, Charleys Philly Steaks, Churro Mania, Teriyaki Ninja, and a few more... This Mall makes for a good shopping experience and a better Sunday afternoon with the family. We will always return! read more

I'm pretty sure this is Dadeland Mall's long lost sister or something. If it isn't, then I'd be surprised. Why do I say this? If you live in Cutler Bay, well, you know this mall, but even then, you probably only go for basics. I drove down to this mall, and goodness, I was severely underwhelmed. No wonder my friends from Cutler Bay swear by Dadeland Mall. To begin with, getting into this mall is just weird. Why do I say this? I felt as if I were going around on a merry-go-round! Too many entrances and everything is in a circle. Mind you, then there are outliers like Applebees and Olive Garden! Anyway, ignoring this rotunda, the plus side is there is plenty of parking. So much in fact that even if this were a busy mall, I think parking would still be left over. Admittedly though, there isn't much to this mall. Let's see. You have a few anchor stores. You know the type - Sears, JCPenney, Macy's, etc. You also have a variety of restaurants, including a Buffalo Wild Wings and a Moon Thai & Sushi, plus a decently vast food court. Oh, and for your entertainment pleasure, there's a movie theater! In terms of stores, you have your Victoria's Secret, an Aeropostale, and none of your usual miscreants like Forever 21, H&M, and even Express. It looks like the Express here closed! With that being said, there's a Starbucks in here, yet Yelp reports it as closed, so goodness knows what else has the same issue. I think that after all this, my opinion is pretty obvious. It's an ok mall. I have actually mostly come to this mall to eat at their Buffalo Wild Wings and their Olive Garden. They have a few other restaurants like Moon and Applebee's as well as a few other places inside their food court. They also have several stores but I only have experience with their Men's warehouse and their now closed Kmart. One of the big problems is that the Kmart that used to be here is now closed and you now have a large empty store front. read more

Growing up as a kid, I use to love hanging out at the mall with my friends. As a matter of fact, I can still picture the feel and decor of the late 90's. As a matter of fact, walking into Southland Malls took me back. If it wasn't for the HDTV posters and mobile phone accessory kiosks, because I'm old-er, I could of sworn I was back in Jr. High. I came there for Sephora, which was located inside JC Penny, and ended up roaming the entire mall. It wasnt very big, and there wasnt too many shops I was interested in so it didnt take long. Then again, I dont shop much and if I do, it's usually online. The food court was small but selections were varied. There is a Starbucks inside the mall of which I hung out in for a while. I was very disappointed in the guest services kiosk. I stopped by twice, before and after lunch, and no one was there. I would go back, but only if I need to or wanted to visit a chain restaurant that surrounds it. read more

Southland mall has everything from Spencers, tj max, movie theater, bumper cars for the kids, Mary go round, BBW, perfumania, zalás, nail salons, footlocker, phone repair, Colombian fajas, the food court has tons of options like Asian foods or Cuban foods or even fast foods like tacobell, there's even a Dairy Queen in there. Even a dollar store And my daughters person favorite Claire's! Always makes for a good one stop shop and it's been very quiet and calm and empty lately which makes for an even better shop/visit if u ask me. read more

Iam not on here to try and be a southland mall groupie or anything like that Iam certainly not going to say it's the biggest or the preetiest mall to look at. But as far as the down south area of cutler bay, goulds, homestead this is a staple of our community. There aren't any other real good malls around here. Especially with the history of Southland mall. Formally Cutler ridge mall back before Dolphin Mall. Sunset Mall or the fall's it's easily the oldest mall down here. In the front entrance they have Buffalo wild wings which i have been to fairly decent. TJ max, Old navy and my personal favorite 5 bellow. The inside there is Macy's, Jc penneys, Spencer's, Foot Locker, Champs, City trend which has the most selection for people on a budget for clothes, shoes, socks cologn, women apparel etc. But be worn they use very cheap material for clothing so that's the only negative trade off. I bought some trendy short ripped fashionable jeans with fake Diomonds. In less than a month they started falling off. Don't expect perfect stitch work. Just affordable prices. As far as the Regal Cinema. It's preety family friendly. Good customer service. Cool ambiance. I go there regularly. However the concession stand is were it goes downhill the prices of popcorn, soda, hot dogs, candy is ridiculous. A single Dassani water bottle cost almost $6.00. read more

I don't know how to rate this mall. It is slightly nostalgic because it still has a very 90's mall vibe, which is probably why I gave it one more star than necessary. It is dingy but clean and it has the typical stores you would see at any mall across America. The food court seems to be lacking and they have the typical "kiosk carnies" that plagues every other shopping center. read more

I will never call this mall Southland, it's Cutler Ridge mall forever. LOL!!! Anyhow this mall is okay. Although they've added better stores and a movie theatre I still find other malls better. Just the quality of some clothes are cheap and sometimes people need to mind their bad ass kids more before letting them run around the whole damn mall all loose. Parking is always a mission for me to unless you park in butt f&*% Egypt. If you can go to another mall, I would suggest it. But to walk around and kill time it's not so bad. Also, when you do your first check in your suppose to get a free mouse pad...well guess what, even after showing the guy my yelp reward, he had no clue what I was talking about. read more

We were in the neighborhood and dropped in for to get some soap from that the bath store for the wife. The mall is is large and has many of the stores you would expect to see in any mall (Macys, Sears, etc.). The mall was clean and not crowded at all. It was a school night at 7 when we got there. There is a technical college within the mall so guess you could get a degree in-between shopping. I did see a pretzel store and that alone is enough to return. After letting the little one ride the carousel we checked out the playground. Well more like an open space with walls (sorry no pics). They have a couple of these fiberglass things to climb on and thats it. I don't remember ever seeing such a sad play area before in a mall. Now, while I thought it was not too great the little one thought different. He did have fun running and chasing the other kids. You know how kids are they make the best of situations while I look and see the glass half empty. read more

Sorry Southland, you will ALWAYS be Cutler Ridge Mall to me! Well, this mall isn't the worst place to shop, but it definitely isn't the best. The stores are more practical than other malls I have been to. There really are not a lot of high-end stores. The highlights of this place are: DSW, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, and Buffalo Wild Wings, Sears, and Macy's. Visiting the Kmart is a frustrating experience. Ive never seen so many dirty stores and gold grills all under 1 roof in my lifetime. A lady waited for our front parking spot about 10 mins while we loaded the kids, stroller, etc. There was parking 45 seconds walking time away. Lazy and a very very long walk or better yet running a marathon could of suited her. We watched in amazement at the amount of "clown cars" we saw our first visit there. The car door open and people literally poured out of the car. Both visits felt like we were on the set of a movie. Oh and let me mention that we witnessed an arrest for stealing at Ulta. read more

We arrived what seem to be pretty early cause the parking lot was actually empty. As we strolled into the JC Penny we were greeted by a very friendly and cheery sales representative. Of which took us by surprise cause I do have to admit this does not happen very often at other malls!!! Our daughter also noticed how clean and orderly the store was. It was very empty thou. After a few hours of walking around and making ourselves to other vendors, we did notice more patrons but still pretty much empty. We really enjoyed the laid back easy going atmosphere at this mall. No one was really walking around like a bat out of h---! Just strolling casually on a Sunday mid afternoon. Formerly "Cutler Ridge Mall", this mall has truly come along way thru the decades. Recent additions of a new wing, that include a Movie Theater and Johnny Rockets to name a few, have help bring some appeal back to this once half-dead mall. Recently some fashionable stores have taken residence like Guess and Victoria Secret in hopes of a revival for the once flourishing mall. Macy's, Sears, Tj Maxx ,JC Penny, Ultra Beauty, and DSW are some of the larger resident stores here, you have normal everyday shoe stores, video game stores, and typical mall food court spots. Many surrounding restaurants on site, and a Bally's Fitness. The Hours of Operation, are much shorter than other malls in Miami. read more

The mall's always dead...and I mean, there are people walking around...enough buzz but not stop-go-sigh-go-stop traffic you get at Dolphin or Dadeland. Small foodcourt so you won't starve. The mall appears sprawling...but not filled with enough people! Big names like Sears, Macy's, JC Penny's, TJ Maxx, Old Navy. Other food options include Stir Moon and Buffalo Wild Wings. I suppose if you want a not-too-crazy/crowded shopping mall experience, this might be the place...if you are willing to drive all the way down there. The positives are that there are some very good deals here!!! It is a laid back peaceful environment. Easy to shop as it is not the pumped up dance club that many upscale trendy malls engage in. The stores are average looking. The center of the mall is ok at best with average scenery regarding the single water fountain and seating. I wait for my wife as she shops. My wife is happy with the variety of stores. The prices are good to excellent! The rating 2 to 3 stars is based on my knowledge of other countries: Shanghai China, Jeddah Saudi Arabia, Paris, Bangkok Thailand, Hong Kong, and even locally New York/L.A. In general, during the day, the shoppers and their kids are ok. I would only come here at that time. Toward the evening it is loud and the general public's behavior is low class. Be forewarned. The driving in the parking lot is typical South Florida: very frightening. They need more security rovers. However, The parking is spacious. Easy access from all directions. I've got to give it to Southland Mall...they really have come a loooong way from what they used to be when they were Cutler Ridge Mall. They were working on this mall for as long as I can remember and now I actually don't mind going to this mall. It's clean, never too busy, and I can usually find decent deals. Now that they have added places like Buffalo Wild Wings, DSW, Bally Total Fitness, a new movie theater, Stir Moon...it has become an enjoyable experience that I don't have to drive far to get to. The only downside that I have found is that most of the clothing stores I like to shop at (i.e. Express, Banana Republic) aren't found in this mall. If I need to do some clothes shopping I still have to go to another mall. I'm hoping as they continue to build they will add bigger name stores so this mall will be my definite go to spot. read more

Not a bad mall at all, it has the average type of stores (like Macys, VS, PINK, Bath and Body works, JCP, etc.), nonetheless you can find the local stores as well with good items. Not a huge food court but it looks nice and with some variety of options, so at least you can grab a bit to eat in the middle of the shopping action. The playground is the one that is so sad, it has literally 3 kind of foam like flowers (or something) where the kiddos can "climb on", is just a huge carpeted area with not much to play with, thank God for children's imagination where they can have fun with pretty much anything. read more

I have personally watched this location grow in the 5 years that I have been attending. The movie theater is not as big as Regal Kendall, but its cheaper and they have specials. There are few good places to eat here which is part of the appeal. The number of stores is lacking! Many of the stores seem to be selling club wear. It would be nice to see more diversity among the stores as far as what they sell. The prices are fair but keep in mind, the quality will match the price. I did notice that the mall has weird hours which they refer to as a "curfew". Unfortunately, the area which the mall is location in is not the best. I feel comfortable shopping here and I go from time to time to save money but it still has a lot of improving to do. read more

Oh, Southland, formerly known as Cutler Ridge, Mall. While this mall holds a special place in my heart because it was the mall I would go to with my friends growing up, it's pretty horrible. It has gotten better with the recent additions of TJ Maxx, DSW, Pac Sun, Ulta, Spencer's and Old Navy. However, I only go there if I'm bored, my little sister wants to go, or it's an emergency and I need something very specific. It's always filled with Ridge-rats (the area's teeny-boppers) and its merchandise variety is hurtinggg. The Macy's in Southland is completely different from any other Macy's I've been to-- it has the worst clothing selection! Take the ten-minute drive to The Falls, it'll be worth it. read more

Two of my favorite retailers :) These stores are a great addition to the already pretty good retailer mix. The mall has come along way. It's nice and clean and plenty of visible security! This mall has come a long way. I really like it now. They have fixed up the place really nice and now has alot more stores. Even tough it's now called Southland mall, in my heart it will alway's be Cutler Ridge mall. I remember coming here when I was a little girl. It's a pretty big mall with stores like, Macy's, JCPenny, Payless, a regal theater, buffalo wings, things remembered, DSW, Sears, Claires, TJ Max, Old Navy and alot more other one's. There's also a motel near by which is convienent for those visiting. read more

I use to remember this mall when it was Cutler Ridge Mall. Back then, I would of given it a 3 star. And before Hurricane Andrew, I heard it was amazing, probably 4 or 5 stars. But over the past 8-10 years, it became horrible. A lot of the stores are dirty and a few of them have a weird smell to it. I usually like Macy's and JcPenney in other locations, I don't like the ones in this mall. The fashion is weird. The people who come here are "interesting." There's a lot of crime in this area now so I guess it reflexs onto this mall. I only come here for the Starbucks (which is amazing, shockingly), to do my nails (I personally know the lady who does our nails), and for emergency gift options. read more

Don't bother coming here , used to be Ok when I moved here in 2010 , went there yesterday and Starbucks closed down ... CLOSED DOWN .. PACKED UP SHOP AND LEFT !!!!! You know what that tells you ??? .. when have you ever seen a Starbucks close a location ? The other half of the stores are going out of business ( Payless , crazy 8 ). All that's left is bath and body works , VS , and Macy's and JC penny and some shoe stores ... the place looks nearly deserted . The kids area of the mall doesn't even have anything for them to play on , just a carpeted area , before they had those animals the kids could climb on , now nothing . The company that owns this mall needs to seriously start from scratch , the next closest mall is the falls and Dadeland every other mall is up to par and you would think with the crazy influx of people moving down here they would invest some money into making it worthwhile to shop there . Even the TJ Max and old navy aren't worth it there , the new ones ( TJ Max , old navy, and ulta) they opened in Campbell are way better read more

This is my childhood mall. I'll 5 star it for the euphoria I get from Coming here. This mall sometimes during the day is kinda empty kinda like mall of the Americas or something. But what I like about it is that it has a movie theatre, it has a decent food court, and for the most part store wise, it has Macy's, jc penny, your big stores and all the other little stores you might be looking for. I go to the movies all the time here probably the best part about the mall and this will always be my chill spot. I rep for southland and homestead I know some of y'all feel me.
