What a hidden gem when it comes to needing a custom machine shop in the local area. They are OPEN!!…read more They guys and team here are awesome! They have tremendous experience with welding and that customization needed for certain parts and metal fabrication. I have seen them help with fork lifts, make brackets for construction company, fixing heavy equipment parts, stainless steal parts, and the list goes on. I would highly recommend Suwanee Machine Shop for any of your metal fabrication, customization needs, especially with a one off part needed and fix.

If, on the other hand, you've got a custom metalworking job to do and your skills tend to lie more in the ethereal realm of "iOS Programming" than in the physical realm of "banging on pieces of metal" then this might just be your place. The machine shop is something that, 60 years ago, everyone knew about. Today? Just finding one is a struggle. Luckily when I had an issue with motorcycle parts, Suwanee Machine Shop was there and they got the job done. I went in and said "I need this piece to fit on this piece" (imagine in your head a round peg and a square hole). The guy nodded, said "Sure, we can do that. It'll be about $40. Come back next week." I came back the following week and he said "Right, did you want it to be on that side or this other side?" Duh. I told him which side I wanted the peg to fit in and he just said "Great. Come back next week." The following week, I walked in, the parts were done and he said "Here ya go. How much did I tell you for these?" "Fourty", I replied." "Sounds about right" he said. I loved finding a shop like that that'll just do the job ya have.

Julius and Justin are the best in the business and I am a very satisfied customer!! 5 stars on customer service and communication during the work performed. I have been to many shops in the past while owning the car and ASS is the only one that will now work on my car. If you want it done right and with an honest price I would highly recommend this place of business.

I rarely leave reviews. As a business owner myself, I understand the impact they carry. Four years…read moreago I gave Atlanta Speed Shop five stars and meant every word. Julius and Justin had stepped in to rescue a build on my 1967 F100 that a previous shop had majorly dropped the ball on -- a project that had already cost me over six figures. They were thorough, honest, and went above and beyond. Over the years I referred significant business to them because of that experience. When I acquired my 1968 F100 and was ready for a new build there was no question where it was going. I trusted them with it because they had earned that trust. This update is not written out of frustration. It is written because other customers deserve an accurate account of what happened, and because I exhausted every private option before going public. I brought my 1968 F100 to Atlanta Speed Shop in early 2026 for a significant engine and drivetrain build. I sourced the crate engine and select components directly. The shop handled the transmission rebuild through their own vendor, all remaining parts, and all labor -- totaling just over $10,000 on their invoice. My total investment in this project was well in excess of $20,000. Within the first day of having the truck back I noticed a loud screeching noise on right turns, a throttle that stuck twice, driveshaft scraping, a whining rear end, and oil spots. I reported everything to Justin in writing immediately. The truck went back for its first warranty visit. It came back still unresolved. Following that return the AC stopped working and a shop mechanic was dispatched to my home to fix it -- a basic item that should have been caught before the truck ever left. Julius had signed off on it. The truck continued to have issues. A significant driveline vibration then appeared under hard acceleration that had never existed before this project. The shop requested a ride along with Julius -- the same owner who had signed off on the vehicle multiple times already. The truck went back for a second warranty visit where Julius confirmed the muffler was contacting the driveshaft -- a direct result of their exhaust work. This was consistent with what Justin had already acknowledged in his own words in a text message. The vibration was resolved but the exhaust remains unfinished. A cracked frame rail near a critical suspension component was also disclosed to me for the first time at this visit -- despite the truck having been in their shop multiple times with Julius signing off each time. Today's warranty tow cost me $503 out of pocket -- an expense that should never have been mine on a warranty visit. When the final invoice arrived a 3% credit card fee appeared that had never been disclosed or applied to either of my two prior payments on this same project. Justin acknowledged it and waived it in writing -- because he knew it had not been disclosed. The invoice was never signed by me and the terms were never agreed to. If a response to this review claims these issues were pre-existing I would ask the reader to consider -- if that were true, why were they never disclosed across multiple visits and multiple sign-offs by Julius? Justin acknowledged the exhaust running the driveshaft in his own words after the truck had already been delivered as complete. These are not my characterizations. They are documented in the shop's own communications. The technical capability here is real and my 2022 experience was genuinely excellent. But capability means nothing if the work is not checked before it leaves the shop, warranty issues are disputed rather than resolved, and a loyal customer who invested well in excess of $20,000 and referred significant business to you is treated the way I was treated when things went wrong. I have documentation for every word of this. Future customers deserve to know.

After two months S&W warrantied the cylinder heads did not warranty any of the labor or supply any of the gaskets. Second engine that was purchased the HPOP failed within 20k miles. S&W warrantied the HPOP but had to wait for them to send mine back and get one shipped back. In all about three weeks. S&w did not warranty any of the labor on the HPOP. The third engine dropped a valve and damaged some pistons. S&w sent us to another shop Powerstroke Specialties nothing was warrantied and ended up with a $8500 bill for another one of his motors and a friendly install. They had to reorder a set of sleeves and re do it. This time it was done to the correct size. Engine was complete and within 2 to 3 weeks 5 out of the 8 sleeves sank which pressurized the cooling system and put water in the oil. The car had maybe 20 miles on the new engine. When American Speed Shop went back to S & W to get a refund from them to purchase a new block to correct the issue S & W said they would not warranty their work nor would they stand behind it. I WOULD STEER CLEAR OF THIS SHOP IF YOU NEED ENGINE WORK DONE!!!! They do not do good work and they do not stand behind the sub par work they do at all!!
