Beautiful fireplace with lots of big chairs to sit in. There is a table with a big puzzle to work on.

We were going to go to the jewelry show at the nearby civic center but decided to pay a visit to the library instead. At 57 I'm still a bit of a bookworm and love visiting libraries. This was one huge, beautiful library! I gave it a one star ding because the Friends of the Library bookstore wasn't open on a Saturday and they didn't have a vending machine where you could buy snacks or a cup of coffee. I loved that there were plenty of conference rooms, luxurious seating by beautiful fireplaces, option to sit outside, there was even a huge puzzle that you could sit down and participate in putting the puzzle together. There was plenty of places where you could sit and plug in your device to work. There was a large book area dedicated to children on the first floor. Of course there was an extensive collection of books, magazines, dvd's, cd's, etc... This is the perfect place to relax and study.

I browsed the little bookstore and purchased a 1000 piece puzzle from Springbok and two cd's all for just $5.00. There is a children's room right at the front of the entrance. Also at the front of the entrance are a nice selection of mobility aids for those that need a little assistance getting around. The entrance itself is full of beautiful plants, trees and scenic decorations, making the entire vibe very welcoming. There is a computer room in the far back, a heft section of nothing but large print books. The front desk people were very knowledgeable and friendly.

She suggested the Bloomfield Township Public Library and admittedly, I was a bit hesitant at first. However, I was in need of somewhere quiet to connect to video calls and I didn't have much time, so I somewhat begrudgingly headed over. Wow - I was blown away by the beautiful space - both indoor and out. There are plenty of friendly staff members to help answer your questions, obviously tons of books, a large and colorful children's area, an outdoor area, a vending machine area, computer area, plenty of desks, and private rooms for members. I am not a resident or member, so I headed outside to a beautiful terrace and I'm now back for my second day working here because I loved it so much. I haven't looked too deeply, but there also appear to be programs for community members of all ages to partake in - from book clubs and writers groups to knitting groups, summer craft kits, language conversation groups, speed dating with a book, and so much more. I'm literally so impressed with everything this library has to offer. I will be back and this may inspire me to also visit my own library back home. Lesson learned: never question a suggestion from my mom ;)

They have an atrium where you can snack and be loud, but the inside has the expectation of quiet! They have a little "bookstore" at the very front, I assume for books they want to retire, and operate off the honor system! Everything is $3 or LESS! Lots of carts marked $1 or 2/$1. I think they may have reading classes or story hour for children in the mornings, I got here at 9:30 and heard what sounded like a teacher talking to parents about their kids! They have toy bags and activities for young kids, a fish tank, and a globe! It's overall a really comfy place to spend quiet time in the Word.

There are lots of spaces to get away if you want quiet. Also the programs are top notch and I'm now a devout attendee of one of their many book clubs. Our son was looking for book's series to read over the summer. The helpful librarian asked him a few questions and gave him 5 different suggestions. He took three and loved them. When we returned the next month she saw us and came CB over to tell us there was a new series coming next week she thought he'd love and will put it aside. She did. We did. He did!

The staff is super friendly and there are plenty of computers and seating available. They also have a kids corner with books, games, and other activities to keep kids occupied. I also love that there's a lot of different seating options with spacious countertops for work and individual seating if you want to study alone. Highly recommend getting some work done here or just stopping by to dig into a good book !

Overall this is a really nice, modern library. Huge space overall, with lots of computers, it seems, and a big kids/YA section too. The bathrooms are a bit old school / high school-ish, with tiny stalls. I usually stop by here when I have a book or two on hold, and the hold area inside is easy to find ... they also have an outdoor locker area of sorts you can use. For returns, there's an outdoor slot if you don't want to go into the library, but it's a bit hidden - it's on the side of the building closest to the USPS building across the street (East side of building, I believe, then). Overall, very nice library, I kinda just wish the walk from the parking lot to the entrance was shorter, especially in winter.

They also have several different sort of resource centers. The most amazing thing is the upstairs, it's like a museum. It has art all over the ceilings that transport you to Europe. It's a nice place to study, there's huge rooms to do so, one with a view outside to the art museum. You can usually have an entire huge table to yourself!
