Once i find something I like, I tend to just get the same thing and at Cascade, that would be the Americana. Good, good, good. The pastry selection is nice and it is a great place to sit and catch up with friends over a nice cup of coffee. At the moment, there's no real competition in town so for now this is the place to go.

They have great drinks and some of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. My personal favorite drinks (I can't pick just one) is their lotus refreshers (I change the flavors up depending on what flavor I want) and their iced matcha teas. And of course they have a great variety of coffees to choose from as well. This is by far the BEST COFFEE SPOT IN JACKSON and I highly recommend!

I was told they are now under new management. The restaurant is located on the Tombigbee River so if you're lucky to have seat next to a window you can watch the river traffic or you can step out onto the "patio area". Service was great as usual. Menu options are limited- Catfish is the only fish option, there are crab claws, hamburger steak, chicken fingers to name a few. THE SLAW is still the same- it has always been a favorite. OVerall it's a nice place to go hang out if with a group.

They weren't crowded or busy (first hint on a Sat night) but our appetizers were small and salty. Around the table, entrees took a long time to arrive then were wrong, barely warm and just simply had very little taste. My HB steak was just a burger patty on a plate with some canned brown gravy dumped on top. No toast or anything. Was supposed to come with a baked potato but came with sweet potato fries. Even the slaw they've been famous for for years and years, was just not the same and wasn't good... We won't be back.

Jackson suffers from not having quality restaurants. There's one, maybe 2 if you're not that…read morepicky. This place is not one of them. This is a 'I'm so hungry I want to go to an all-you-can-eat buffet' place. Number 1 China does offer a pretty good buffet for the price you'd expect to pay. Some of the food doesn't taste too bad but I always have to wonder how much (if any) MSG is being used. It is often very busy and you're more than likely going to see someone you know in this small town. There's nothing fancy about the inside but it is adequate. Here is why I'm giving this restaurant 2 (2 1/2) stars. The problem with Number 1 China has to do with the fact that EVERY time my wife and I have gone there, one or both of us has stomach problems right afterwards. Every time. Typically this sort of thing happens because of bad food prep (not clean) or ingredients that are contaminated. Not sure what it could be with this place. There are some wonderful people working there. Friendly and kind. If you do go, please remember to tip the people bringing you your drinks and clearing the table. They earn every penny of it.
