Always got my meats from a supermarket, never really been to a local butcher. But heard good things about this one and thought I'd stop in. Buddy answered all my questions, I've been on a quest lately of getting grass fed beef and organs. And this was the perfect place to stumble across. Buddy brought in some bone marrow and had it cut "canoe style" or long ways as opposed what I usually find at sprouts where they chop it up. Makes it a lot easier to eat. He also helped me get some veal brains, and they already stock liver. All these organs are extremely healthy and rich in vitamins we don't get from our usual protein cuts. I've also tried quite a bit of their selection. Bone in Rib eye, pork belly burnt ends, pork chops, bacon wrapped shrimp and their wings! Amazing quality and amazing service due to plenty of staff in hand, usually in and out for me. Love that I can stop in daily to get a fresh cut for dinner.

From the moment I opened the door I was wowed! They sell so much of a variety of delicious items; fresh made vegetables, marinades dressings, snacks wine, beer, a selection of gourmet frozen meats and a huge selection of different marinaded steak or chicken. So many choices. My first visit I tried wagyu sirloin steak and bulgogi marinated steak. I Pan Sautéed 5 min on each side and both were fork cutting, melt in your mouth scrumptious! I also bought the Asian marinated Brussels sprouts! I'm not sure who ate more of those me or my 6 year old granddaughter. They offer different specials everyday if the week one day it was buy on veggie get one free. Another was $4.99 ground sirloin. The cows are Fred roam grass fed start to finish and the tastes shows the difference in quality! You must must go and pay this place a visit! It's worth the 40 min drive it takes me!

Southern Steer Butcher offers fresh cuts of quality meats from sustainable farms. The staff is friendly and encourage customers to ask questions. They have daily specials, value combos and preordered holiday meals. On my last visit I purchased bacon wrapped shrimp kabobs, marinated chicken and a couple of take and bake sides. The take and bake sides are bogo on Tuesdays. Mac & cheese and buffalo cauliflower sides are my favorite so far.

We're so happy to have this local butcher just down the street! We normally like to pop in to get their delicious marinated chickens and pre-made side dishes (and their beef livers for our dog). For Christmas this year we went all in and got a bone in choice prime rib roast (pictured). We were able to order it ahead online and pickup on our day of choice. The roast was seriously one of the best we've ever had with perfect marbling that practically melted in our mouths. The staff is always friendly and prices very fair for the quality of meats you're getting. We will definitely be back.

First visit to the new guys in town. Prices seem reasonable with plenty of selection. Don't see it, ASK. Many marinated meats to choose from too. My extra long SHORT RIBS look very promising. Also offered are a few beers and wines, sauces, marinades, pickles ect. Very friendly and helpful butcher. Hope my pictures can be enlarged on your views.

Southern Steer is the butcher shop I have been waiting for! Located on the corner of Highway 50 and Maguire Road in Ocoee, this brand new location is my foodie dream. The staff are all knowledgeable and super friendly. They are all happy to assist you in finding the perfect selection to fulfill your foodie cravings. Our family especially love the bulgogi marinated beef tips and the crack chicken sausages. The take and bake side dishes are also delicious. Sign up for their loyalty membership to get texts or emails on their latest specials. We have not been disappointed with service or the quality of the food at this awesome new local butcher. Give them a try and see for yourself. It's on the corner beside the Pearl Vision store.

The shelves are well-stocked, and the butcher section is spotless--something that immediately builds trust when you're shopping for fresh meat. The quality of the meat is excellent. Everything I've bought--whether chicken, beef, lamb, or goat--has been fresh, tender, and flavorful once cooked. You can really taste the difference compared to regular grocery store meat. They also offer a wide variety of cuts, and the butchers are always happy to prepare them exactly how you want. I've asked for certain cuts for curries and grilling, and they did it perfectly every time. What I love most is the service. The staff is friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. They don't rush you and are more than willing to answer questions or give suggestions if you're unsure what to buy. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and community. Pricing is fair, especially considering the quality and peace of mind that everything is halal and handled properly. It feels good supporting a local business that delivers both excellent products and warm customer service. There are a ton of places! Inside and outside, there are plenty of tables and high tops to sit at. There is a lot of grassy areas outside for kids to run around as well. The best part of Plant Street is that everyone in your party can get something different but all sit together and enjoy each other's company. MY wife and I tend to do this alot. We order smaller things from a few booths and then share everything. During the weekends and then also throughout the year, Plant Street has events such as Octoberfest, pet adoption and live singers, to name a few. This usually will bring more people here and to be honest, parking can be tough. Their private parking lot is not incredibly large and also shares with a few restaurants across from them, not located inside the market. My wife and I try to go early when we visit. We want a table to sit down, even though you can easily walk around with your food. If you cannot find parking, there is a parking garage which will be a slight walk over. The parking garage is closer to where the farmer's market is. Everyone who works at the different vendors are always very nice. I believe they are Crooked Can employees, but people will walk around picking up your beer glasses for you. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. They are priced appropriate for what you get. I definitely recommend checking out Plant Street as this is one of our favorite local places to visit. ACES!

Incredibly disappointed in the TLB. I've been a fan for a long time, especially their dry aged…read moremeats, and am more than willing to pay for this type of product. Today, though, I noticed them selling Japanese Wagyu as: Sake Infused Dry Aged A9 Kobe Strip. This is a very scammy way of selling a product. First, meat is graded broadly on three scales - USDA (choice, prime), BMS (beef marbling scale - common in Aus), and the Japanese grading scale. (A1-A5, with most high end steaks being A4 or the gold standard, A5). https://meatnbone.com/blogs/the-clever-cleaver/meat-beef-grading-system-understanding A9 doesn't exist. A BMS 9 could be an A5. But this is mislabeled. They have also used the term A11 in their instagram account. Maybe they are confusing BMS for A-scale, or maybe they are intentionally trying to make their product seem better than competitors. Furthermore, not all Japanese Wagyu is Kobe beef. Kobe beef refers to Tajima cattle raised in Hyogo Japan. The export of this beef is highly regulated to only certain restaurants and purveyors, who will display a seal and certificate certifying the origin of the beef. It is rare, expensive, and most importantly, Bush Brothers (Local Butcher's wholesale purveyor) is not certified to sell, nor do they use in any way, the term Kobe Beef. So it is incredibly likely that this product is mislabeled. This isn't illegal (Kobe beef doesn't have a TM in the US), but it is disingenuous. https://www.kobe-niku.jp/en/contents/certification/index.html https://instagram.com/bushbros Next, "sake infused"is incredibly confusing. Is it referring to the myth that Kobe cattle are massaged with sake? Is it referred to the use of koji (fermented cooked rice) which is often used as an aging accelerant? Or did they really take Japanese Wagyu and infuse (inject, soak?) with sake? And why on earth would you do that!? It would be like making sangria with a bottle of DRC. This product is likely a A5 strip loin (which Bush Bros. does carry) that has been aged. Market price would be somewhere around $175-185/lb. (An unaged cut would be around $150/lb.) When I asked for more information on the most expensive cut of meat in their shop, I was treated with disdain and a dismissive attitude. Neither member of the staff could answer my questions other than to say "It's the highest grade of Kobe beef." To charge $215 dollars for a grade that doesn't exist, for a steak that isn't from Kobe, with an aging method that seems dubious at best, is disingenuous and plays on a lack of consumer knowledge. If The Local Butcher themselves don't know the differences here, they shouldn't sell this product. If they do, they should be ashamed of themselves.
