My family had another company install a new septic last year. The last few weeks we started to experience problems with our one bathroom toilet being backed up. After having a plumber come to our home for what we thought was a clogged toilet, it was determined that our septic tank was the culprit. I contacted Southern Sanitary to schedule a service call. Within an hour, I received a call from Chris who immediately went to my home to determine what we needed. I really appreciated Chris taking the time to do this. Chris arranged for David and Glenn to address the issue the following morning. It turns out Miller Brothers who installed the system never connected electric to the pump. So for 13 months our system was working on gravity versus utilizing the pump that was installed. David contacted me when he arrived at my home and explained to me what he had found. When I arrived home, I was shown exact what the problem was. David rewired the alarm box for the lift and connected the electric to the pump. When the pump wouldn't drain, Glenn and David proceeded to remove the pump. They were able to get the pump working and went the extra mile to make sure the alarm box was plugged in with a temporary connection until the electrician could wire it properly. David also told me to give his number to the electrician so he could help explain what needed to be done. Both David and Glenn went above and beyond to make sure our septic was working properly. I was so impressed with these three men. I will not only continue using this company for our septic needs, but will recommend them to anyone who needs their services. read more

I had a septic issue and reached out to a local company for help and the woman rep asked a number of questions which I guess in her mind was the best style for her, a date was set for a visit but as fortune would have it there was a quicker date when a neighbor had an appointment with the same company. The driver stopped over, I provided a diagram of the location for the tank and drain field, he poked around random areas and finally decided he couldn't find the clean out, took my diagram, said I should hire a plumber with a camera system and left saying he would call me... he never called. That paved the way for me to reach out to Southern Sanitary Systems and I got an appointment for the next day. Justin Arrived on time and and we discussed the diagram of the septic system and Justin began poking around and within a short time found the clean out and got to work. Justin displayed a can-do attitude, was friendly, pleasant, worked hard and quickly, and as a result Southern Sanitary Systems has gained a long term customer. My problem has been solved, I have a wealth of information I did not have previously. If you are not a customer already I highly recommend this company and ask for Justin because he made my day experiencing his enthusiasm and dedication to customer satisfaction. Thanks again Justin, you rock! Charles R. in Sarasota, FL read more

I hired Southern Sanitary to do a septic inspection on an older home I purchased. Chris, my inspector, was super helpful and discovered a collapsed lift station and a drain field overgrown with roots. His report enabled me to secure a seller's credit for the discrepancies. Chris gave me a fair quote for repair, so I elected to have the company do the job. They handled all of the permitting and preparation and finished my job in 2.5 days. Walter and Benson, with only a single tool trailer and a tractor, worked like mad men from 7AM to 4PM each day to complete the work. They were super professional, very nice, and did a phenomenal job. They dug a new field, dug and installed a new lift station, and repaired my backflow alarm. Benson also helped me level a few spots in my yard as a favor. This crew came prepared every day and I'm very pleased with my experience. I'll be using this company for services in the future. read more

We have used Southern Sanitary Systems before to pump out our tanks, and we called them again. We are so glad they sent Gary to do the job at our house on Wolfe Ave! It turns out that our septic was dual-chambered and seemed complicated because of encroaching landscaping. Gary not only found both lids quickly, but handled the job easily. He left our property looking exactly as it did before, even though both landscaping and grass were involved in uncovering the two lids. Our septic system is older, but Gary was careful not to break the lids. He seems experienced and suggested that we take pictures to help find the two tanks easily in the future. Thanks to Southern Sanitary for sending a true professional. read more

David G came out at 4:45 when we noticed the toilet was making those noises like something out of a Ghostbusters movie. I am 10 days out from bilateral hip replacement and was in no condition to do a johnny homeowner repair. I had to pay the overtime rate but as a recovering HVAC contractor I understand it was the cost doing business. David G got us up and running and I was very thankful for the help. Next time I should keep up with the maintenance. Should have known the Murphy guy would come around. Again, many thanks to the team at Southern especially David G. Give that man a raise. read more

Can't say enough about Southern Sanitary! Terri was so polite and professional on the phone. I had an issue with my Septic Tank. She got their Technician "Dave" over to my home to service the Tank. He was also very polite and professional. He promptly got to my home. He explained what he would be doing in detail. He was very patient with me in explaining my situation with my Tank. Dave is very knowledgeable and quick at problem solving. I will continue using this company because of Dave and Terri. It's also great to get a real live person on the phone when you call in. read more

I had discovered that my house was on a septic system when trying to figure out why my waste line was backing up. Worse , the tank was at capacity and filled with things that should not have been flushed. I called Southern Sanitary a 2:30 on a Friday praying I could get the tank pumped so we could have use of the bathrooms over the weekend. With in 30 mins Kent arrived to help us out. Kent took care of the issue right away despite the condition of the tank. I cant say enough about how Kent and Southern Sanitary made a bad situation right in short order. Thank you! read more

We had a lift station alarm at 530 am and after calling several companies to no avail. I called and the answering service forwarded my call and within an hour I had a scheduled appointment for that day. The Techs that responded were great and walked me thru everything that they were doing and rather than try to over sell me something, they fixed the problem quickly. They cleaned up the site completely and were totally professional. I will not use another company again. This is the way a business is supposed to be run! read more

When I called Southern Sanitary Systems today, thinking my septic tank might need to be pumped because neither toilet would flush, the person who answered the phone was extremely helpful and friendly. Within an hour a gentleman came out and discovered the electricity to the lift station pump had switched off. He flipped the switch and double checked that everything was now working. Again, very friendly and helpful. Charge? - $0.00! Wonderful customer service. They will be my septic tank company from now on. read more

I just had Walter come and pump my tank. It still didn't work and he suggested jetting out the blockage. It works great, but that is not why I'm writing. Walter was all smiles and has the best attitude. He took so much pride in his work. He salvaged the sod and left my yard clean. In A day where customer service is lacking, Walter was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely be using southern sanitary for future needs and I will request Walter. By the way, the girls in the office were great to work with too!!! read more

Super friendly staff answered the phone and scheduling was quick and easy. They arrived on time (actually early) . The serviceman Luciano sent a text message when he was on his way to my house. Today, Walter R. was dispatched, and despite thinking I couldn't be any more pleased with their service, I AM! Walter is undoubtedly one of the most pleasant, polite, helpful people I've encountered in my 80 years! Walter explained everything, made excellent suggestions, and left us feeling completely satisfied and delighted with the service. A JOB WELL DONE! read more

An update from my review of 7/31/26. Jenny called and apologized for the misunderstanding. I didn't get the exact details, but apparently they were changing their accounting system and somehow the statements were sent in error. She reversed the charge and refunded the payment. I will definitely keep them in my contacts for the next time service is required. read more

Called when I had a tank stoppage into my home. Yuck! They made the effort to not only get out that day but to get out before the "emergency" fee kicked in. Gentleman who came was polite, efficient and made no pretense of knowing things he didn't. I appreciate honesty above all, this place gets 5 stars for this and their service. Thank you!! read more
