Per text messages, they led me to believe it was in progress for drying time. I am very dissatisfied with their lack of respect for customer service and especially due to today's outburst from the son of the owners. Unprofessional and also very intimidating toward me. Shocked was I and the other customers who were there also. While I was leaving, one customer told me he was having the same issues. So if you think about having a piece painted or touched up by this store , please remember this post and don't trust them. It's been 3 weeks longer than expected, I spent 700.00 on an item that I can't trust this company to complete much less have an incredible piece of furniture I could brag about and send lots of business to them. I will never.

Even if you don't find anything to your liking in the shop, just the pleasure of walking thru a very historic home that is now an antique shop will give you a warm feeling. The owner is delightful. She is available to help but does not hound you. My husband, who appreciates vintage antiques but not a shopper by any means, enjoyed strolling thru the shop. He is big on history and spoke with the owner about the home. She was so kind to spend time talking to him and giving him a brief history of this being the first home in Katy to have electricity! She has each room decorated so lovely but not ostentatiously Felt very comfortable in there. Highly recommend!

All of the vendors were nice and most were eager to give samples. Really good stuff too. There was also a jelly jam booth that had some great sounding combinations (like whisky). Market is closing in November but will be back for a Dec 4 holiday one.

This event has a nice following but is very poorly managed. The coordinators refuse to use the…read moreinternet for vendor sign up to "avoid scams". Instead, you have to sign up in person (given very little notice), pay with cash before receiving a hand-written receipt, and have your info sheet added to a giant, messy appearing binder. This organizational method has routinely caused many issues, including double booking same-type vendors and losing track of cancellations/communication with vendors. We have attended 14 of the last 15 Katy Market Days as a well-loved vendor of fresh-squeezed lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved ice. Our first 6 or so events with Katy Market Days ran smooth with very little interaction with Betsy and Harry Proctor, the owners of The Limited Edition Art and Antiques and coordinators of Katy Market Day. As the months progressed, more issues appeared, including multiple lemonade, kettle corn, and shaved iced vendors attending the market, despite reassurance this wouldn't happen. We were always met with excuses such as, "a new girl let the other vendors book". The market this past Saturday started with a duplicate shaved ice truck parked directly across from our booth. Harry, Betsy's husband, handled the situation with respect and professionalism. He apologized for the double booking and offered a refund for this month's market. His attitude and demeanor was much appreciated in the midst of a frustrating situation for both vendors. Shortly after, a large, white food truck pulled directly in front of our booth and parked, hiding us from view of customers. My husband asked Betsy if the truck was going to stay, as it was an unusual spot and there was plenty of other options. My husband walked back to our booth and Betsy chased him down and began YELLING that the "truck is not moving" and we are "more trouble than we're worth". This outburst made the vendors surrounding us and the customers in my line visibly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this display was not out of character for Betsy as we've witnessed numerous verbal disputes and disproportionate negative reactions toward other vendors over the course of our time. We've seen Betsy run after and scream at another vendor leaving the event early. Betsy routinely speaks abruptly and disrespectful toward vendors while signing up. In our early days of attending KMD, she even refused to let me and my young son use the restroom in her store while I was heavily pregnant and in dire need. Sometimes making an exception to a rule is necessary and compassionate. You'll hear numerous similar stories from most every vendor. Katy Market Day has the potential to be an excellent monthly event for the community but sadly falls short due to ineffective, unprofessional, and callous management.

Lauren loves antiques and we have shopped this store many times. After shopping Lauren saw that they were having a drawing and stood at the counter, behind some other ladies, to ask the specifics and enter the drawing. Well the lady was very busy so Lauren decided to find out more when I came in. Lauren and her friend left the store to come find me, just down the street. I was making a purchase when this lady came running behind them accusing them of stealing a ring. Nice and loud for everyone and their dog to hear! Lauren and her friend were totally stunned! I asked the lady if she was accusing my daughter of stealing. She said yes! They were at the counter looking at the ring and when they left the ring was gone! I told her I would finish my purchase and return to her store. We walked to the counter and she was on the phone reporting my daughter and her friend to security. She hung up and again repeated that they stole the ring; before I could respond, a young lady walked in and handed her the ring and said she was sorry she accidentally walked off with it. She said OMG the only reason she returned it is because she knew I reported it to security! She was very angry! I said well do you think you might have something to say to them. (Referring to my daughter and her friend). She sighed, paused, and in a very ugly way said "sorry!" I was so stunned that the way she handled everything yelling thru the streets that they stole a ring and she couldn't give them a true apology that they rightly deserved!!! We left. I have since written the a pm about the situation with no response. I am one that lives to support local businesses! However, I will never shop here again. I would suggest that unless you want to be humiliated in front of all of Katy, you stay clear of here too!
