I've been holding off on writing this review because I feel awful giving a mediocre rating when the…read moreperson providing the services was a true sweetheart. Very talkative, nice, personable. For THAT I would have returned. However...many things about my experience were just unprofessional and I don't have time to mess around with it every time I want my hair done, so unfortunately, I won't ever return. I had a Groupon. While waiting for my stylist, another stylist told me the groupon was created because my stylist needed to practice doing women's hair again since she had worked at a barber shop for years. Even if this is the reason, I don't like knowing that I'm "practice". My highlights were shocking and took me some time to get used to. I did have to have a friend cut stray hairs because the cut wasn't even...but that's minor. All in all, my hair turned out lovely and as time went on, I began to really love it. What really upset me? It's not good when the stylist says "oops I may have gotten some on your clothes". At the time I brushed it off and hoped she hadn't. Two of my favorite shirts that I wore that day (cami and cardigan) have bleach spots on them. One of the shirts can be dyed but the other can not. :( There were other things about the experience that were unprofessional but I was OK with them at the time. Kind of unforeseen events and, as I said, the stylist was so sweet. Maybe I just had a weird experience. The salon itself was adorable and all the stylists are independent and rent their booths.

My experience with Ella David Salon is so heart breaking. I went there because of the…read morereviews....now I'm wondering if they are fabricated. I am a cancer survivor. My hair is course and brittle. I have to take really good care of my hair. It took years after radiation to grow my hair back. We moved here because my husband got a job with Fedex. I've been around the US and experienced many hair salons. I went to see Gracie. She is super sweet. I told her the issues with my hair and she promised to take care of me. I got a couple of rows of highlights and then low lights over the rest of my hair. She gave me a "collagen treatment" that was supposed to help keep my hair from breaking. I paid $280 for all the "special treatments" to keep my hair in good condition. I've never paid that much for my hair....even living in CA. Gracie straightened my naturally curly hair, and I went home and washed my hair a couple days later. To my horror, I noticed a TON of breakage ALL OVER MY HAIR. I started crying and called Ella David Salon. They promised to have Gracie call me. Gracie text me back and I sent her pictures of what happened. She felt bad and was very nice. But there was nothing she could do but offer another "hair treatment". I didn't want my hair further ruined so I declined. I called again to talk to the owner about what happened. I left 3 messages. Finally I got upset and told the salon I needed the owner to call me back ASAP. Finally after a week, the owner got back to me. I explained the situation to her and explained how her products ruined my hair. The owner was SO apathetic and rude. She did not care AT ALL that her products ruined my hair I worked years to grow after cancer. She said they could "cut my hair and give my a free conditioner". ARE YOU KIDDING??? I paid $280 for you to ruin my hair and you tell me to get a hair cut??? I was crying on the phone to the owner and she blatantly told me there was nothing she could do and it wasn't her fault. Please be wary of this salon. The owner does not care....the reviews are deceiving. They will outrageously charge you and then ignore you. I posted a before damage and after damage photo

I was not impressed with my experience here. I came in to have my hair colored from highlights to…read moreone solid dark brown color and I wanted a deposit only color. The first time I was booked with someone who travels out of town to help out at times (which wasn't convenient when my hair didn't hold color before a wedding I needed to go to and she wasn't there to fix it for another month...) while the lady did my hair she told me she missed parts of my hair that she noticed while she was blow drying (which is fine) but we had to add color in for a second time...so I shampooed twice before leaving and was running late for the rest of my day. (I understand accidents happen and I appreciate she attempted to fix this) I called back within a week to see if I could get my hair fixed, but the lady who travels out of town wasn't there again for a month....so I was told I would have to book with someone else and I would also have to pay full price since I was seeing someone new. (even though I feel like my hair was not done properly the first time and it should have been fixed)... The second time it was done I had a permanent hair color put into my hair (not sure why someone would lift my hair again after it was already highlighted, that's not what I wanted...) it just made the color look lighter, my hair more damaged, and again it didn't hold a second time, there were blonde pieces still showing through. When I called asking is someone could do the roots and just try to touch up the ends that didn't hold as a courtesy to fix it I was told "too much time had passed" and I would have to pay again to correct it a third time. I don't mind to pay, but the trust was gone with this place and I didn't get the service that I wanted. Some of the staff were nice, and the shampoo lady did a great job massaging my scalp, but the lady on the phone was not nice or helpful when I called with my concern. I ended up going elsewhere and a new stylist gave me Demi-permanent color and I have not had a problem holding the color since. Not sure what happened here, but I wasn't a fan of the lack of customer service or offer to fix anything. I will not be coming back here and would not recommend

I have been on assignment in Memphis since February and have struggled with trying to find someone…read moreto care for my hair which is in its natural state (no chemicals/relaxer, etc). I eventually decided to try Regis Salons and Super Cuts, assuming I'd at least find someone that would do a good job washing and blow drying my hair. However, even with a simple wash and blow dry, using the wrong product can ruin hair causing it to be dry, brittle, or weighed down from the use of too much product. Earlier this week, after a Google search, I found the website for Natural Opulence Salon. After reading the services offered (which stems from a natural approach using organic products that are free of agents that cause harm and damage to the skin/scalp/hair), I decided to schedule an appointment for the stimulate & rejuvenate detox shampoo and steam conditioning treatment. After reading what was included with this treatment I thought this was the perfect option for me as my goal for this appointment was not focused on getting my hair styled but more on a conditioning treatment. Let me just add, almost every salon will offer what they call 'deep conditioner.' I've paid for that service on numerous occasion only to leave feeling like nothing was accomplished. My appointment here with Rochelle was exactly what I had hoped for and more! I loved the organic peppermint detox shampoo and all products used! Rochelle took her time while washing (which I always appreciate) and walked me through each step as she applied various products (telling me what she was using and why). Immediately after my shampoo, she applied conditioner and I sat under the dryer for the steam conditioning treatment. Rochelle blow dried my hair after the wash/conditioning treatment and I could immediately feel the difference. The weight of my hair was light and it felt clean. My scalp felt nourished and I loved the feel of my hair, not to mention the glossy shine. I finally feel like I've found a place that specializes in caring for natural hair. Rochelle is excellent at what she does and really cares about not just pleasing her clients but ensuring that the services she offers leads toward a healthier hair outcome. I felt like she cared as much about my hair as I do... and I care a great deal about my hair and its overall health. We laughed about my shrinkage as she patiently combed through and blow dried my hair. My hair is long and I appreciated Rochelle's level of patience. What I also like is her schedule for appointments. When you're there, the time is reserved for you only so there's never a feeling of being rushed. The customer service is at an all time high. I highly recommend Rochelle to anyone seeking someone who's passionate about the work that they do, specializes in taking care of natural hair, values time, and seeks to understand the hair needs and goals of each client. At Opulence Hair Salon, your hair will be in good hands! Can't wait to visit again! So grateful I found this jewel of a salon and owner/master stylist Rochelle! She rocks! If you really care about your natural hair, look no further... this is the place! It's perfect if you're transitioning as well... check out the tree braids that she offers. Pictures are on the website. 5 stars for sure!
