Wisdom Elder Care became an extension of my family this past year. I live in California and it was…read moreimperative that I found trustworthy and caring people to look after my mom as her health declined. The caregivers (special shout out to Samantha, Dani, Haley and the wonderful Luis) all cared deeply for my mom. She loved and trusted all of them, and I truly believe they really cared about her as well. And the management and office staff is equally as amazing. Connie counseled me on many things, gave me advice and helped me find other resources to help my mom financially. Melvin would drop in and see my mom on occasion, and even went and brought her home from the hospital when she was discharged earlier than expected. Many of the Wisdom people would visit my mom in the hospital if I couldn't be there. Emily and Laura were additional lifelines for me from the office. When it came time for hospice care, Luis, my mom's caregiver, worked side by side with the hospice team so my mom had a familiar face with her. All of her main caregivers kept in contact with me and gave me updates on my mom, since whenever I called she would say she was "fine!" Well, after several months of steady declining health, my mom passed away yesterday. She was basically housebound the last 6 months of her life, and I'm not exaggerating when I say her caregivers were truly part of our family. She loved them all and I will be forever grateful to the whole team at Wisdom Elder Care!!!

Wisdom Elder Care Inc. has the most thoughtful & compassionate employees. Every CNA (?) that came…read moreto our home not only took wonderful care of our Dad but were so attentive to our Mother and her needs as well. There was a 3 hour gap in our 24 hour care one evening that could have been disasterous had our mother been alone. This was not due to the employees however. This was due to the owner not allowing an "on call" person to be available. You cannot receive better care but I would suggest to the owner that the liability could be more costly than an 'On Call' employee.

If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. It was a good service when I first started with them,…read morebut they have driven away all their good employees and are just hiring whoever they can off the street. I've had theft problems with a few of their "Care Pro's" (I used to keep a couple hundred dollars in cash on my desk for when I needed a store run done). Mistake, as it kept disappearing. I now give them my debit card for purchases. I've had hundreds of dollars spent at stores I don't send them to for groceries. I don't visit the Dollar Store, yet my debit card has been used there a few times. It happens to be near the grocery store that I send them to for errands. You don't have to be a detective to figure that one out, everything is time stamped into my bank account. I've had several other items magically disappear from my house. Computer monitor that I had stored in my home office that I no longer use vanished. If you like people who never shower and smell terrible (like make me leave the room kind of stink) when they kick off their shoes to go to sleep at noon on the couch. I've had days that I've had to open all my windows and air the house out when the "Care Pro" left for the day just to get rid of the lingering foot odor they left behind. If you want to pay to have someone stare at their phone and do nothing, enjoy having people steal from you, and have no expectations of quality care, this is the service for you.

I listen to my patients and families and we talk about funny things that happen to them in their lives. I also listen to the not too great things that have happened in their lives. In this job if you can't figure out what I like to do? Listening. People are used to going to doctors appointments and not being listened to. I like listening. I also like humor. Humor is know to increase certain endorphins that increase the mood. I had a patient who had that stern look all the time. He never smiled, he was straight faced. Before he past I said that I wanted him to use oxygen. We came up with a negotiate saturation and he would have to wear the oxygen. He agreed. Then I talked about how using oxygen helps your brain. I sang the first few words of "If you only had a brain". He laughed so loudly. The smile was noted by his caregiver and she told his daughter that I made him laugh. Laughter is good free medicine with the only side effect is stomach cramping because of laughter. I am here for YOU. May GOD bless you.

We are like a big family and we keep adding more family members as more patients come our way. Our nurses, social workers, bereavement, spiritual, and home health aids are truly compassionate, giving and are always there for our patients and their families. My cup if filled daily every time a patient and their family chooses us. We are trying our best to educate our communities on hospice benefits; it is not just a place to go to pass away, we can help in so many ways long before anyone passes. If you have a prognosis of 6 months or less, we can help. We provide rest, reduced pain, symptom management, and we help patients focus on spending time with loved ones. Many graduate and many live way longer than their 6 months prognosis. It feels wonderful to be a part of so many beautiful legacies.
