He practices a triage approach and takes time to treat emergencies .. your also. At my first injection (me on aspirin) my eye bled, turned black crusty. When I called service on Sunday, he called back in 10 minutes and told me to come into office (after we both completed some work). His staff routinely stays late, 7 pm, or later fridays....until done. Delays due to emergencies. This guy is a diamond and augusta is blessed to have him. I will wait for treatment. I want to keep my vision as long as possible. If your priority is your eyesight, go here.

Write down your questions. Some questions: Diagnosis. Worse? Better? Driving? Continue occuvite vitamin? Hereditary? Drinking? Will glasses help improve your distance? Seeing up close? The diagnosis in 10 mins - No bleeding in eye. Maculate degeneration. and vision is stable. Calcium in cornea. Remove calcium as it gets worse with vision. Risks. Ask doc smith, corneal specialist. next spring. Or late fall. Bring something to read or do. Finished within 2 hours. No bleeding...

You'd have thought I told her I was gonna stick needles in my eyes the way she reacted. She told me that "everyone" got their eyes dilated to which I repeated that I wasn't doing that today. She continued to push, saying it was "protocol". I reiterated that I wasn't doing that today and when she continued trying to get me to acquiesce, I told her that she was probably used to old people giving in after that much pressure, but that wasn't gonna happen with me, and I asked her nicely to just drop it. She said she, "Wasn't gonna get talked to like that" and stormed out. When Dr. Daniel came in he seemed a bit uptight... and began to explain why I should get dilated. I told him why I wasn't and that I was supposed to be just getting a new prescription. He seemed a bit chapped and then he walked out. I got the impression that they don't like being told "no". I know the reasons for the need to get dilated, but I just wasn't able to do that TODAY. They did send in a nice lady, Hailey, to examine my eyes and she was friendly and professional.. but I won't be going back there.

Fast forward to my birthday weekend spent in bed with swollen eyes and having to cancel all of my plans. Between this clearly avoidable issue, the fact that it took over two hours to do the lasik consultation (of which I spent 1 and half hours waiting), and the $200 fee for the consultation (while other eye doctors do this for free) that only resulted in me being blind for my birthday, I simply don't know why anyone would go to this place. Every time we come to see him for an eye exam, we get a bill even though our insurance had stated that we are covered. Stupidly, I continued to pay even though they have shady ways of doing business. We have even called the insurance company and had 3 way conversations stating that the service was covered. This weekend I received another bill and contacted their billing department and this person was again rude and nasty telling me she was not going to resubmit the claim even though she clearly remembered having the 3 way call with my husbands insurance company. I will never ever go back to this eye clinic and hope that you choose a different eye doctor before you go and have to deal with these nasty people who work in his office's billing department. I have never been talked to by an office staff member before in this manner and I refuse to be talked to in the condescending way that I've been spoken to by this person. I had two appointment with Dr. Ben. He checked my eyes to make sure they were in tip toe shape and he fitted for contacts. The contacts that I was given were and still are the best ones I've ever used. Previous ones would dry out and kind of irritate my eyes but the one he issued me feels like I'm not wearing anything at all!!! I love that!!! I also purchased glasses here as well!!! The lady who help with the glasses purchases is super friendly and very helpful!!! I had a hard time deciding what I liked and didn't like, she gave great suggestions. I went with her suggestions and I think I will have a great pair of glasses. This business also keeps up with its customers by sending appointment reminders and letters in the mail. They were several days overdue with my glasses order, which is annoying but I can deal with that. However, they tell me that they sent it to the Augusta location instead of the Grovetown location and that I have to pick it up over there. That's annoying enough because it's an hour out of my way and I needed them to see. I drive all the way down there, and they tell me it is not there very there and it is at the Grovetown location so I have no idea where they are and Tippett clearly has no clue. I had to take off of work for this crap, and I will now not be able to get them until 4 days later due to my job. They could get their crap together and communicate and confirm where they are. I'm never going back to Tippett because I wasted gas and money due to lost wages because they royally messed up. And after all that, their staff didn't even apologize for the inconvenience or for my lost wages and refused to take any responsibility. They are unprofessional and unorganized.
