Dr. Daniel's takes his time with you , you never feel rushed by him , he tells you everything in detail about what is wrong with your eyes in layman's terms , he cares about making sure you know exactly how to care for your eyes and recommends a solution to you even before you ask . Dr. Daniel's shows genuine care, professionalism, and makes you feel totally at ease like you are the only patient . I must add this , too, if you have an issue with your eyes and they know what it is , they ( the staff + the doctor ) save you time and money by letting them know the issue and they will call your pharmacy with a prescription to save you time too , This has been SO very helpful for me at least 3 times being a patient here ! Also , THE STAFF is , I must praise their entire staff's professionalism for making you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you walk in the door until you walk out ! This place is so very organized, cozy , and the staff just goes many ,many extra miles to make you feel you made the right decision to be their patient ! I want to give a shout out to several that are simply the best ! First , there was Tracey who did an examination and it was exceptionally thorough! When I say Tracey is through I mean she asked every question that was needed and did a stellar assessment before I was seen by Dr. Daniel's himself after she finished with me ! YAY, TRACEY! , Then , after my awesome appointment with Dr. Daniel's , I needed new glasses and I had the most wonderful , pleasant lady named Angie who helped me with glasses ! Such a delightful woman , caring, kind, knowledgeable, she picked out glasses for me because the ones I had picked were not complimentary for me . Angie knows her skill , super knowledgeable about helping fit new glasses and explaining everything , Keep it up, Angie ! And , to top it off , there is Sharon at the front desk whenever you check out ! She is phenomenal!! Always a smile , happy to see you , asks if you need anything , Sharon is fabulous! I cannot leave out Noel , front desk , fantastic personality and I would never leave out Jennifer, who has known me forever and ever from another eye doctor , and she is superb! My family members were patients of Dr. Casella's eye clinic for years; however, due to their…read morebilling staff member, Shana being rude and ugly to me on several occasions we will never return to this eye clinic. Every time we come to see him for an eye exam, we get a bill even though our insurance had stated that we are covered. Stupidly, I continued to pay even though they have shady ways of doing business. We have even called the insurance company and had 3 way conversations stating that the service was covered. This weekend I received another bill and contacted their billing department and this person was again rude and nasty telling me she was not going to resubmit the claim even though she clearly remembered having the 3 way call with my husbands insurance company. I will never ever go back to this eye clinic and hope that you choose a different eye doctor before you go and have to deal with these nasty people who work in his office's billing department. I have never been talked to by an office staff member before in this manner and I refuse to be talked to in the condescending way that I've been spoken to by this person. Dr. Casella, you really should consider getting a different person to handle claims for your office. I asked to speak with you so I could tell you myself and I was ignored.

My mother is a patient here and they honor my insurance here so those were all pluses!!! The staff and doctors here are very friendly and gives you the utmost respect while in their care. I had two appointment with Dr. Ben. He checked my eyes to make sure they were in tip toe shape and he fitted for contacts. The contacts that I was given were and still are the best ones I've ever used. Previous ones would dry out and kind of irritate my eyes but the one he issued me feels like I'm not wearing anything at all!!! I love that!!! I also purchased glasses here as well!!! The lady who help with the glasses purchases is super friendly and very helpful!!! I had a hard time deciding what I liked and didn't like, she gave great suggestions. I went with her suggestions and I think I will have a great pair of glasses. This business also keeps up with its customers by sending appointment reminders and letters in the mail. This is what the last place I used lacked in and I'm grateful that I found a place that didn't miss that mark!!! I think this place will do fine with all my eye care needs!!!!

***this is reference to Dr. James Oakman procedure and care diagnosis***…read more This botched cataract surgery took place back in 2010...they hit a blood vessel during stitching closing at the end of procedure. Sigh. I'm only giving 1 star because my father's eye surgery was botched and recovery diagnosis ended up making my father blind. This changed my father's life from being independent one day to co-dependent for help. And changed our whole family's life to be caregivers. One day my dad could drive ... the next - NOT! I keep hearing this was the rare and first time this had happened with Oakman... What I've learned after the fact is only Because of this experience, we should have gotten a 2nd and even 3rd opinion from different surgeons on draining the blood filled eye...but was never told to go get that as option, as some self assuredness kept coming from the doc... wrong - go get a 2nd opinion! This, the optic nerve died. Yes, it's all hind sight now. I'm sure he's a good dr. overall ... just not that day for my dad... sad... You may not like my review and I'm sure he's great. Just more careful in future now, I'm sure.

Dr. Oakman saved me from blindness in my left eye and he has helped thousands of others save their sight through his skillful surgical skills, and careful and caring methodology. Just a few examples of his service: 1. When we had a serious financial reversal and lost almost everything, including our insurance, Dr. Oakman continued to serve us as he always had before, adjusting prices, giving low-cost treatment, helping us figure out how to reduce costs in a variety of ways, and giving us samples to keep us going until we were back on our feet. Not only did he never complain, but on the contrary, he was always happy to see us and help us through whatever eye issue we had at the time. 2. It is common for Dr. Oakman to go to foreign countries at his expense to help people who could never afford any kind of medical service. He takes hundreds of pairs of glasses and helps people see that would never be able to without his help and care. He also provides a variety of eye clinics for these same people. During the time of my financial duress, I was in an automobile accident that caused my left eye to to filled with glass shards. We were living in a different city, when my wife called Dr. Oakman and asked what we should do. He immediately told my wife to get me in the car and drive to Augusta and when we arrived he would see what he could do. While we were headed to his office, he set up an operating room in the basement with all the instruments and medicines that would be necessary. Once we arrived, Dr. Oakman carefully, gently, methodically removed every single piece of glass. He made sure that I constantly had enough liquid numbing medication to prevent me from ever feeling any pain at all from the lengthy surgery. After the main surgery and glass removal, Dr. Oakman insisted that we stay at his office until I was completely comfortable and he was absolutely sure that every single piece of glass had been removed to my his and my satisfaction. My post op treatment was excellent, with Dr. Oakman following up regularly with advice and help where needed. This was quite a traumatic experience for me and my family, but Dr. Oakman saved my eye and my eyesight is actually better in the eye that he repaired than in the healthy eye. Except for very occasional night driving glasses, my vision is still quite good as I approach AARP membership! It is very likely that I would have lost my left eye had it not been for Dr. Oakman's skill and help. You can feel confident that you will receive the best care possible from Dr. Oakman. Between this clearly avoidable issue, the fact that it took over two hours to do the lasik consultation (of which I spent 1 and half hours waiting), and the $200 fee for the consultation (while other eye doctors do this for free) that only resulted in me being blind for my birthday, I simply don't know why anyone would go to this place. Would definitely not recommend this place.

I have been a patient for CPC for over 20 years, contacted the North Augusta CPC to change doctors…read moredue to living in North Augusta, was told I could not change, when I inquired why, I was informed that is up to the doctors, they do not take transfer patients, only new patients, I stated I am a new patient from a different office, was told very rudely sorry that is up to the doctor. I Will be finding another doctor, leaving CPC after 20 years! The doctors that I have seen for the last 6 years doesn't seem to want to take time to talk with your or care really about whats going on with your health anyways, they just open their computers type some answers in and leave the room.
