I stumbled on this while looking for things to do in the area while attending a book signing. Being a book lover and author, this was an obvious choice. My friend and I explored the first two floors (we were pressed for time) and were in awe. I wish Charleston had something like this because I would be here every single day working on my next manuscript. There were several rooms, desks, and seating areas for readers and students alike to choose from. The large windows allow for plenty of natural light that offsets the bright interior lights. They have a wide collection of titles and studies! Highly recommend that you check it out. Just remember to be quiet and respectful as students may be present working on their projects.

The pick up system has worked flawlessly and kept our house full of books for my kiddo (and saving me from buying tons of books for my avid reader!). Being connected to the rest of the library system allows for access to so many books, and they seem to arrive at the chosen branch more quickly now that "books on the go" has been up and running for a while. My kiddo and I are excited to get to pop back in and browse once it's safe to do so again. She's excited to have the opportunity to check out lots of the books on the shelves and find new favorites on her own. This is a great branch to do just that without feeling overwhelmed by too many choices.

The selection of books is OUTSTANDING. Every genre is welI stocked, and I really, really appreciated the great selection of fantasy/sci-fi books. I'm an older reader who well remembers the era when public libraries paid little attention to this type of lit and reading fans had to buy their own books. ALL types of fiction are generously stocked, the biography section is outstanding and I found so many great books on sewing and crafts that were so informative I ordered my own copies of some of them. I really love the drive-thru book drop off. I usually swing by before I bring my son to school and it's very convenient that we all don't have to get out of the car to return the books. I also love the self checkout stations inside the library. They are pretty magical, especially if you are checking out a ton of books. The children's section is great! It's set up in a way that is very clear and easy to follow depending on what age group you are looking for. I loved the candy land inspired interactive game they had setup in December. My son had so much fun checking it out. I especially loved that it was open if the library was open, you didn't have to go in at a specific time. I also love their Lucky Day section at the front of the library. You might get lucky and score a book that would otherwise have a super long waitlist. Such a neat concept! In general Wake County's online library system is awesome. It's so easy to reserve books and e-books as well. At North to pick up your books just head straight in towards the back by the main checkout desk. You can easily find what you need in alphabetical order there. I used the word love a lot of times in this review, but I really do truly love our Wake County library system. It's the best!!

When you first walk in on the left-hand side there are magazines newspapers and books written by people from North Carolina luckily we live in a state where there's lots of authors here. Then you will find plenty of sections for check out. When you go turn right you can find all the books all the nonfiction and fiction books on tape and books for kids. I do find that the book section is fairly small but they have a System with all the other libraries in wake county where if you wanna book and you can't find it here you can order and it will come to this library also they do support the library app Libby so I can get access to books there. I'd like to check out in person and the librarians have always been very helpful. On weekends they have kids events in the back right space. Like crafts and reading hours.

Pauper's is an amazing local, independent bookstore that sells used and new books. They have their…read moredeeply discounted books outside, but if you come on inside you'll see a cozy space with an insane variety of books! You can easily get lost in there browsing everything. They also have comic books, records, and DVDs. The books are generally priced from $1 - $20, with used books averaging $2.99 and new books averaging $15. We have had some great finds at Pauper's and always look forward to taking a trip there!

I would sit at one of the carrels for hours, without interruption. This is one of the largest libraries in the county. They have a huge selection of mysteries and general fiction, and their children's section is also quite large. They have regular story times for even the youngest family members, and they have regular workshops on subjects like gardening and writing. Check the boards when you walk in for more information.

The collection within the four walls is small, to be sure, but the inter library loan system that they have with other libraries means local patrons could check out just about anything with a little bit of patience. The collection is updated and reflects diverse interests as well as backgrounds and subjects. When looking through their collection of old and new books I frequently thought, oh wow, this is not for me, but I'm glad that they have it for others. On one visit, I saw that they had wrapped up books with a description of the book but not the title or author so that patrons could be surprised when they checked the book out. I found that kind of awesome, and someone told me they do this kind of creative thing all the time. This town is very lucky to have this resource right in the heart of downtown. I feel lucky to be able to visit periodically and I'm looking forward to visiting again.
