I've been coming to the Eva Perry for over 20 years. Their quiet room was perfect for when I was working on a professional certification. I would sit at one of the carrels for hours, without interruption. This is one of the largest libraries in the county. They have a huge selection of mysteries and general fiction, and their children's section is also quite large. They have regular story times for even the youngest family members, and they have regular workshops on subjects like gardening and writing. Check the boards when you walk in for more information. read more

There are lots of nice things about this library. I like that you can place books on hold and specify which library location you want to pick the books up at and they will email you once they are ready. Then you just need to go to the hold section and grab your books. You have the option to check out books with a person or utilize their kiosk to self-checkout. At this location, self-checkout is easy as you can stack up to four books at a time and the kiosk easily and quickly knows what books you are checking out. You can print a receipt or have an email sent to you with a list of books that you checked out. When returning books, you have the option for a drive-up outdoor drop-off from your car or a drop box inside. There are always plenty of staff members willing and able to assist you. There are plenty of tables and computers and I like that they have a quiet room. read more

Lisa was outstanding helping me today with the quirks of printing, paying, and using the systems. She was very patient and helpful. to me. Thank you Lisa! Carolina A. :) read more

Generous selection of bilingual books. Specialized help in finding specific writers and themes. Great selection of magazines for your browsing pleasure. Many people donate their gently-read mags so you can score current titles from Architectural Digest to Wired to anything in between. Kids get a special storytime room with a small stage and limited seating area. Plenty of floor space for wee ones to dance and march like dinosaurs or make imaginary milkshakes. Rock on, Eva Perry! read more

One of my favorite libraries in Wake County. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of tables, couches, and comfy chairs. There is a giant quiet room if you need a space with little distraction. The children's area is awesome! A tree is in the center, murals are on the walls, and there is a great story room. There is even an outdoor seating area and a pull up book drop off. This library even offers a magazine drop-off/exchange. Keep up the great work Eva Perry! read more

Just an awesome staff and environment and great location, also have good programs for kids and teenagers

Growing up in small town Massachusetts, the library was a huge deal to me. Story time during the day, pajama time some nights of month. It seemed like every time I turned around something was going on and it was at the library. I also remember getting my first library card the moment I could write my own name. My library was everything to me. Eva Perry takes my childhood experience and multiplies it by a million for my son now, and also for me as an adult. I feel like their special programming for children and adults is endless as they truly offer a variety of programs for whatever you may be interested in. Book Clubs, art, starting your own business, etc. I also really appreciate their weekend hours. We have been loving the baby, and now toddler story times. (Which has also taught me fun songs for him that don't make me want to scratch my eyes out if I need to sing them 100 times in a row) My most favorite thing they offer however is the express book bag. Somewhere between graduating college, moving a few times, getting married and starting a family, I had forgotten about me time, down time. Fill out a quick survey with one of the librarians, and every few weeks you are able to go to the library and pick up a brand new bag of books just for yourself! This has been such a fun way for me to remember to take time for myself. It's also been a great way to become familiar with new authors I would otherwise not think to look into. I have been pleasantly surprised over and over, and their website makes it super easy to renew books and put them on hold as well. It's been an all around fantastic experience. read more

What a great library! I stopped buying books because I can ALWAYS get whatever I want to read here. Even if I am 23rd in line to get the book, I will be contacted within a few days to come and pick up my current bestseller selection. The only downside: They don't have an audio or video section. When I loved in CA, I used to borrow cds and dvds regularly. Especially for kids. read more

One of the BEST libraries in Wake County! These days, it's so hard to find actual libraries, a lot of them are basically high school libraries that allow the public to come in. Eva Perry is a standalone library with a great selection. The shelves are stocked and you can easily have a book held or transferred to this library from anywhere else in Wake County. Also, there are TONS of events for children and I am constantly seeing parents bring their young ones in during the day (which I think is great as kids need to learn the magic of books!). Now, because this is such a great location for kids to go to, it isn't exactly the quietest library out there. Kids forget to use their inside voices and easily get excited. Most of the time, it's quieter during the day and once school lets out, that's when the after school events start, so that'd be a good time to take a break from your studies or to relocate. Other than that, I love Eva Perry Library. There are several helpful librarians in the front as well as a self-checkout counter (conveniently located near the hold/pickup shelves) in case the line is too long. read more

This is a great library. The employees here are always friendly and do t mind helping my kids find books. If for some reason a book is already checked out, they always offer to order one for them. They also gave several story times for kids. Wifi speed is good also. read more

It love this library. It's great for audio tapes (husband regularly uses these since he has a very long commute to work) and I love the children's area...great place to hand out with kids. I really love the magazine exchange/recycle area! it is just inside to the right of the front door. bring your magazines here and take more. Fir the most part you can find all types of magazines and if you don't find anything of interest new day, the next you might find tons! it just. Great way to recycle and try out different mags. Fun! I also like the easy self check out. read more

I agree with the findings of the two earlier reviewers. However, if you are looking for a quiet place to study, this library will disappoint you. Even as I write this, the library is full of children, who seemed to have forgotten their indoor voices. I've been hearing "sssshhh" for the last 10 minutes, but the din has not abated. There is a quiet area, but it seems strange that libraries, once known for being quiet throughout, have lost that appeal. read more

This is a great library with ample parking. The librarians are very nice and helpful. It is starting to look a little outdated but I think they are slated to undergo a renovation in the next couple of years. Storytime on the weekends is super - the librarians make it extra special and a fun time for the little ones. Get there early for a good seat. We rarely buy books anymore because we can use this free county resource. Lots of computers to use for free too. read more

Eva Perry Library is hard to review because I have 2 different sort of experiences there. On the one hand it is a large and well stocked library, and pretty nice place to visit. But on the other hand, many on the staff are not friendly. So while it's a nice place to look for books, asking for help or checking out is often an unhappy experience, spoiling the visit. When one works with the public one needs to put on a happy face, even on a bad day, and some of these folks need to learn that. Seems like management needs some hands-on involvement to find and fix the situation. read more
