That being said, for park aficionados of a certain breed (generally, birders), this is a pretty good bet on the SE side, and with a bit more clean-up and polish, can be a showpiece.

Luckily the directions are easy to follow, because this spot is a bit out of the way. That being said, you get full access to planes landing and taking off. My one recommendation is to try and come at a "busy" time. You can see a rough idea of arrivals and departures online to plan your trip. For the 20 mins or so that we were there on a holiday Monday morning, we got 2 take offs and 2 landings. This was plenty for our two year old, but probably not enough for a 3 or 4+ kid who loves planes. Either way, it's a great option to take kids (and adults).

You'll see an abandoned golf course on the left behind a fence; keep going until you see Flight Services - it's right behind it. My little boy is OBSESSED with airplanes, so I was so happy to find this place on yelp by accident. The unfortunate thing about the previous review, however, is that the address listed is incorrect. Do NOT use the Presidential address - you'll just end up circling the airport like I did lol. I've submitted the changed pin drop to Yelp but I don't see it updated yet. Anyways... place was very nice and secluded. And you don't have to worry much about the runway because it's fenced. I'm giving 4 stars only because there aren't any bathroom facilities at all. Maverick Horseback Riding is for people who want the real experience. Our guide Emily was wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable. She is a total pro. But you also have to give it up for the owner Joan Marie. She is friendly but very blunt. She is not there to play nice or baby you. She is there to teach you how to properly handle a horse. If you are shy or easily offended, you might want to look elsewhere. You need to be able to take direct feedback and use it to improve your riding game immediately. They start you off with the fundamentals like brushing, saddling, and mounting. You are expected to actually do the work. They even give you cowboy boots to wear which makes you feel right at home. I rode Sheila and we spent about thirty minutes on a short trail just reviewing the basics while Joan Marie gave proper instruction on what to do and what not to do. After that initial lesson, both ladies took us out on the trails for about an hour of riding. I think if we had gone to some other ranch that just let us be lazy rookies, we would not have had nearly as much fun. We left feeling like we actually accomplished something. We are so glad he talked us down from making a potential thousands of dollars mistake and he handled it with patience, care and understanding. He consistently went above and beyond, caught things we never would have noticed, and made sure everything was done to the highest standard. It was a total slam dunk from start to finish. Heck go to 3 demo classes! (like we did before committing). Heartsong is kinda pricey and you want to make sure it is something you and your baby will enjoy! Even though that first class is 0+ months, I truly do not think babies get too much out of it when they are suuuper tiny. We went to our first demo class when our daughter was 2 months old. We were given a free cd and boy did we play that thing like crazy. We knew she was a bit too young, but we started playing the music for her. If you have Spotify, look up "Music Together" playlist. Play that for your kiddo! You will learn the songs quickly and start to sing them too. At 4 months, we took her to another demo class. At this point, our daughter had 2 months of Heartsong songs and dancing in the car and in the home. She LOVED this demo class and it made me happy to see her connection to me during it too. At 6 months, we did our 3rd demo class. Picture your favorite band where you know all of their songs. Then you end up front row at their concert. Picture that excitement. That was my daughter at this demo class. That is how I knew she was ready for a semester. We signed up that very day. We are halfway through their Fall semester and it is the highlight of our week. It is so special for us to see our daughter's connection to music at such a young age. We have only had a handful of classes and she has already been introduced to so many different types of instruments, music styles, dancing etc. We take what we learn in class and incorporate it at home too.
