It dead ends at Lake Austin and the park. The park is about 5 acres and has picnic tables, grills and restrooms and the only boat ramp within several miles. There are no fees and fishing is allowed but not sure about swimming. I would not suggest swimming since the river is very narrow at this point . I have only actually used the park for the boat ramp. The park would get 4 stars the boat ramp a 2. The parking lot can only accommodate 10- 15 trucks with trailers attached. Today there was a party going on and the parking situation was insane - a lot of people blocked in and cars parked all along the boat ramp making the boat ramp almost impossible to navigate. The person in front of us side swiped a Jeep with his boat trailer. Even though the Jeep was not moving I think it was the Jeeps fault - what idiot parks there car on a boat ramp? It is hard enough to back a trailer down a ramp without having to navigating cars on all sides. If Mary Quinlan was not less than 5 minutes away we would drive the extra 20 minutes for the park at the 360 Boat Ramp.

There is a variety of terrain in the small park including flat grassy fields and dense brambly foliage. The natural prize here are the hidden trails along the river which gives a spectacular view for photography. Watching your footing near some of the river paths is crucial since there are steep areas here and there. Nice varieties of spring flowers can be seen as you brush against the rich foliage. If you drive further into the park, you come across an empty ball field which stands frozen in time. Right across the ball field, you will find a discreet path heading down towards the river. If you take a right, you might be lucky enough to come across a small but secret waterfall.

A lot of it is shaded, so summer days are nice when the temps get into the 100's. There are bathrooms as well. When you go to the second level, again a large parking lot, large grass area. A few picnic tables and a bathroom. Not a lot of shade, it's mostly open, and you can get to the water from this second level. It's a little bit of a walk to get to the water. It's not like a beach sand, it's actually a little rocky. But kids jump off the cliffs and wade in the water. I brought my paddle board down here and launched from this area. I think more picnic tables and shaded areas would be nice and maybe a kids play ground down that area so kids can play in the water and on the playground. Not sure about dogs, if they can go in the water. I didn't see any signs that they couldn't. I didn't see signs about alcohol, and I'm sure glass would not be allowed. I do know police do patrol the area. There was a cop sitting in the second level. So be mindful and obey city park rules. Or what I'd like to call them, common sense.

Lakeway Police does patrol for safety. It definitely a beautiful view and very peaceful! From the Johnson Creek Trailhead at Veteran's Drive (where the parking and restrooms are), the path to Enfield and back runs about 2 miles total with only 67 feet of elevation gain. The route goes through some wooded, leafy areas, over several bridges, under several highway overpasses, and through a couple of tunnels. At one point, you even encounter a historical marker and restored stone pillar windmill. This trail can be a fun change of pace for runners who want a break from the dust & gravel of the Butler Trail, but some may find the isolation of some sections to be too unnerving, especially outside of daylight hours. The majority of the trail follows next to Mopac, so traffic sounds are very noticeable.
