Super friendly staff which made my whole experience great. I highly recommend SVI if you need to get any type of imaging done.

As South Valley Imaging, they were amazing. As of today, they are now Simon Med. It was chaos. I called Friday for an appointment and was told to come Tuesday at 10 for a 10:15 appointment. I arrived at 10 AM and the waiting room was full. Very odd. I check in and I'm told: "We are now a walk-in facility." But, uh, I made an appointment on Friday. "Yes, but now we are walk-in facility." Right, and you couldn't have called to tell me that? Every person who came in after me went through the same experience. I opted to wait and was told it would be "45 minutes." 90 minutes later I gave up, asked for my ID and insurance card back and head home. No x-rays done and a completely wasted morning. What finally made me leave was finding out all the back office staff were now "in a meeting," so they weren't even doing x-rays. I'd been told I was "next in queue" thirty minutes before. But, now they were "meeting." By the time they were done "meeting," they would like all need to "go to lunch." It was never ending. Even if they'd done the x-rays, they couldn't have gotten them to my doctor. Their "portal" is not set up with doctor's offices. Their "sales rep" has to visit all of the doctors to set them up on the portal. They are no longer doing CDs. My appointment is tomorrow. So, this would have been imaging that ended up in the ether with no way to access it. Don't waste your time. Go someplace else. Apologies to South Valley Imaging for leaving this review here. If there was a Simon Med Gilroy page, I would have left it there. I will need to explain to my doctor tomorrow why I am arriving with no x-rays. But, I will also tell him to never send imaging requests over there. It would have been faster, and more productive, if I'd driven up to Morgan Hill, or another town with a functioning office and systems. read more

I have used this facility for MRI's and X-rays. The MRI technician and the X-ray technician are excellent technicians. I felt welcome and taken care of. On December 15, 2025 I had an MRI of my shoulder. The tech was courteous though I don't recall that he told me his name. I was initially a little panicked inside the MRI but the tech was understanding and he repositioned my head a bit and encouraged some slow deep breaths. We proceeded with the MRI and it was completed. During the procedure whenever there was a pause in the noise the tech not once used the microphone to ask how I was doing. I thought that was peculiar because in previous MRI's in other places the tech always stayed in communication with me. At some point the noise stopped again. Dead silence. That went on for several minutes. I thought that was also very peculiar. I waited through several more minutes of complete silence and then started to squeeze the alert button. No response even after multiple squeezes. So I started yelling "Hello is anyone there?" No response. At that point I was starting to feel panicky and decided to just slither out of the MRI machine. I went over to the window that looked into the control room and I could see the tech sitting in a chair. He was not moving at all. I was starting to wonder if he had some medical event. I went out to the reception area and told one of the staff what was going on. She went to the tech in the control room and she had to wake him up! He had fallen asleep during the MRI. No wonder he had never communicated with me during the procedure, or after the MRI was done! He apologized for the incident but never actually admitted to falling asleep and when I told him I was squeezing the alert button and that no one came he acted surprised and said "No one came?" He seemed like a nice fellow but for me this was a largely negative experience. Consequently I can't recommend South Valley Imaging for an MRI (at least with this tech). read more

I just want to give an outstanding experience I had. I walked in needing someone to see me asap and the girls there were so kind and helpful. Even though they don't do walk ins they were kind and patient with me and went above and beyond to see if they would be able to assist me. I was grateful just for that. I left three phone messages with a promise on their answering machine that they would get back to me soon. When I finally got through it was absolutely no customer service, no help, rude to me and hung up because I interrupted the receptionist from her personal conversation that I could hear while I was on hold with another one in the office. Apparently, there is no supervisor in the office. It's no way to treat a patient! read more

The CT tech was not very friendly, but then was very understanding when I explained that I was extremely clostrophobic. After the scan I asked if the documents could also be sent to me, and not just my doctors office ( they loose everything, my x-rays, MRI ) So I wanted a copy to take to an orthopedic surgeon. She told me to ask Ruby at the front desk. I asked Ruby if it was possible for me to get a copy sent to my email, and she said " No absoultley not". I stated that my doctors office is very unprofessional and has lost several documents, again she said NO. I have gone to Monterey, San Jose, Salinas, and everywhere I have gone, they have either sent a copy to my email, or provided a website to retrieve them. I guess these girls do not want to do any extra work. They complained the entire time I was there about how many documents they receive and are tired of looking through them. read more

They have one of the lowest grade MRI machines and the radiologist misdiagnosed the scan because it was too hard to see anything. Make you sure know what you are getting before wasting money like I did. read more

Always accurate scheduling, I've always been treated with respect. And I always get a disk copy of image for records in addition to the report sent to my MD. Today had an MRI with contrast, and tech was perfect at finding vein... hardly felt a thing. This place in 100% the first choice for our family. Thanks for the first rate care! read more

Everyone was so nice and took their time with me on the phone leading up to my appointment. They had to get approval from my insurance which took some time but once approved they slid me right in. Very nice staff on site and the appointment was easy and fast. I even got a CD of my scan for my files without asking. I'd give 5 stars except for how hard it can be sometimes to get them on the phone given how busy they are. read more

They are so nice here!! Very professional and they were quick to get in to. I called on a Tuesday and they saw me that Friday... I was impressed by the bedside manor of the ultrasound specialist. I don't have insurance and when i called a hospital to make an appointment for an ultrasound they told me it would be $980... Yikes! so I called South Valley Imaging... $100 for a breast ultrasound... That was a huge relief! It's so hard to find affordable health care when you are uninsured.... I was sent for upper spinal xrays from my doctors due to neck pain . I was originally reffered to a place in Monterey since all Salinas imaging centers were closed . Checked the Costco with my insurance before I went and I'm glad I did . $500+ out of pocket cost and here at South Valley Imaging my cost will be under $70 . Worth the drive from Gonzales to save a few hundred dollars . Not only taht but I was in and out in less than 1/2 hr . Staff was very friendly also . read more

Called South Valley because our GP recommended my teen daughter have an Ultrasound. Donna the Ultrasound tech was such a blessing. She was compassionate, caring and very knowledgeable. There was a miscommunication and we were given the wrong preparation instructions. Donna told my daughter what was needed and waited an hour for my daughter to be ready. I believe she stayed beyond the hours of operation to make sure we had a successful exam. The trip out of town was very worth it. read more

I am 19 wks pregnant and went in for my anatomy ultrasound yesterday. My appointment was @1:15pm but they requested me to be there @1pm to check in and fill out paper work. I was not seen until 1:30pm. The ultrasound technician was very unprofessional -- she had very strong opinions about my kids relationship since they will be very close in age, then proceeded to tell me how miserable pregnancy was for her. This is not a topic appropriate to discuss with an expectant parent. I was very disappointed by my experience here. read more

Long story short, I am EXTREMELY claustrophobic and needed a MRI. I tried twice at another facility to get into the traditional MRI machine. It was simply not going to happen. I found this facility by checking for an "open" MRI machine, and while it's much better, it's still a very difficult machine for me to be in. The two techs that helped me were awesome. They went very slow, let me get in and out of the machine, talked to me the entire time, and told me everything that was going to happen. The head mask was very hard for me, and when they saw my panic, talked me through it. One of them sat next to me for the entire scan (an hour) and held my hand. (Yes I know, I'm a big baby) I can't say enough good things about them. Very nice, caring and considerate. I wouldn't have made it without them. Rick and Joe, you are the best! THANK YOU! read more

I've been coming to South Valley Imaging for the last 18 months. I honestly could not be more satisfied. The service is great and the price is unbelievably low. I am self employed so I pay for my medical insurance and I have a large annual deductible. Be sure to ask them for the cash price if you have insurance like mine. You will be surprised how affordable the services are. My highest recommendation! read more

I would love to leave a positive review as I always want to support local businesses. But, unfortunately, my test was never completed. It was never even scheduled and I had to reschedule a very important appointment as a result. My doctor sent over the request for an MRI on May 6th and I expected to receive a call to schedule the MRI. The call never came. I followed up several times and was told the "authorization for an MRI from the doctor is not the same as an authorization for the insurance." What followed was a back and forth and back and forth between the doctor's office and South Valley. It was never resolved. Whatever process South Valley uses must be non-standard. My doctor's office is Stanford. They gave up on South Valley, too, and suggested I have all of my scans done at Stanford from now on. I thought it would be more convenient to have the scan done five minutes from my house. Boy, was I wrong. It messed everything up and now because of this fiasco (and all of the time lost) I had to reschedule a critically important appointment and will now need to wait months for another appointment. So, while I'm sure everyone there is very friendly, with regards to actually getting your scans done, and doing so in a timely fashion, this may not be the top choice around. read more

Although the actual clinic was professional and well run, their centralized collection process was a nightmare. My insurance is through United Healthcare and I use their website to process my payments. I had two MRI's performed and as soon as I received notice of a payment due, I requested payments to be made. After the first payments were made, South Valley indicated that they were unable to process the payment because they had expired. When I spoke to the payment processor they confirmed that the payments were only good for 30 days and that South Valley imaging did not process the payment timely. I called South Valley again and informed them that I would resend the payments again. I then proceeded to have the original payments cancelled and refunded back to my account and requested payment a second time. Same thing, South Valley didn't process the payments. I once again called South Valley and told them I would try again. I had to cancel the payments once again and finally was forced to write a personal check. The following week I confirmed that the check had been cashed by South Valley and assumed everything was finally handled. The following month I started receiving phone calls and letters from a collection agency. I had to once again spend several hours trying to reach someone to finally be told that my account was turned over to collections by error and that they showed my account had been paid in full the prior month and also had record of my numerous payment attempts. I've never dealt with such an inept process and have no intension of every using them again. Although the cost may be a few dollars lower, the additional pain and aggravation is not worth the savings. read more
