Prices aren't great but that's not the main problem. Some of the staff really doesn't care about their job at all and they let you know about it. Some of the boots are so old and worn out that it's actually dangerous to wear them. These factors, especially the boots, totally ruined the experience. They really need to replace the shoes and I won't be raising the rating until they do.

There were 4 other people who signed up, making a total of 6 people in our group. Despite the range being spacious, the targets set up for our group initially appeared quite close together and made me worried a little about possibly colliding into the person next to me. However, everything turned out fine and the spacing between the targets weren't as bad as I thought. Our instructor, Kina, was awesome!! She was soo welcoming and friendly! She's very approachable and totally made the experience both fun and chill at the same time. I really appreciated that she gave us extra time to practice shooting after the session was over. I looked at classes, but realized until I can get out of my own head and loosen up the classes would never happen. I found Uliana on Yelp and decided to try my hand, or foot so to speak, at individual instruction. She is very accommodating and we corresponded a few times until I could get my schedule lined up. We immediately started on some latin dances, cha cha and salsa, and have remained so over the last month of lessons. I have taken two a week. She is very patient with me as I learn to move my feet. I am sure it does not help that I have not gone out in public, but that is not her fault. I believe a couple more lessons may get me over that hump. I would highly recommend her if you want individual instruction. I am so glad I did and thank her for so much help.

JJ was the representative working that day. He was excited to help us with the challenging routes. He's really passionate about climbing and your safety. It's never crowded here so the atmosphere is always casual and you never have to wait on a wall. Wow, what an experience! Had never been to any type of rock climbing gym before I visited this one…read moreand I was a little nervous. Heights aren't exactly my thing. The guy working, Max, was so super friendly! He walked us through all the safety instructions and was very patient with all the questions I had for him. This gym has harnesses and ropes so once you get to the top you just push yourself off the wall and "float" down. It was so much fun!!! He also gave helpful tips on how to successfully make it up the wall (it is not as easy as you may think!). My friend and I went on a Tuesday afternoon and we were the only ones in the rock climbing area which was super nice! We got Max's undivided attention. Though they also have indoor soccer here and we were told that they have games and tournaments that I would love to come back and watch.

Coming from western NY where ice rinks were abundant, Houston rinks are few and far between. Of the…read morerinks in the area, Bellerive seems to be one of the more decent ones. The ice quality looks far superior to the Sugarland Ice Complex but this one is only a single rink vs other rinks having several sheets of ice. I also believe that Bellerive does NOT offer public skating, which kind of stinks. As for a spectator, this rink feels cold... which is to be expected in an ice rink but it feels colder than others I've been to. The area around this rink seems sketchy AF. I actually tell the kids to not bring their iPads when we come here just to be safe. All in all, our kids did a hockey learn to play here and we were happy with the experience.

I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to write a review, but I only love it more now than ever! Don't let the location put you off, it's got 24 hour camera surveillance and in the 3 years that we've been going we have never had any incidents or ever felt unsafe. The instructors here are truly amazing. They clearly care about the children and aren't just going through the motions. We've only had a few of them consistently because my son doesn't deal with change very well, so best to try and keep the surprises to a minimum. Huge thanks to Mr. Jordan & Mr. Grayson; you have both been extremely patient with the twins & they continue to exceed my expectations every week! My daughter has her float test tomorrow so I'll have to come back and update this post once she passes! **Update January, 16, 2020 -- She passed! I'm so proud of her and how far she's come. Next, her twin brother! He had a scare last summer so he's a bit behind her, but he's slowly getting more comfortable with floating and we're all confident that he'll be able to do his test later this year.** The float test is a milestone every child has to complete to move from the Goldfish level to the Seahorse level. They first have a mock test wearing shoes & get put in the middle of the pool (either jumping off of the tower in the middle of the pool, or thrown playfully), once they land in the water they are to turn over onto their backs by themselves and float (with a gentle current provided by the instructor) to the wall. They are to then find the wall with their hand, turn upright & stand up on their own. The real test is the same but they are fully clothed. It's such an important skill & I feel so much more confident having my children in any pool knowing they know what to do should they accidentally fall in. Houston Swim Club has 5 locations; Sharpstown, Sugar Land, Katy, Pearland, & Cypress. They also offer unlimited makeups so we're now on AutoPay and don't ever have to worry about losing our spots in our preferred class time. We swim year round in their indoor pool where the lessons are always held & the garage style doors are fully closed when it's cold and open when it's nice and warm. Parents/caregivers can watch in one of the two viewing rooms available or outside when the garage doors are open. Swimming is very near & dear to me since I grew up swimming competitively & then coached young children through my high school & college years. In reality, you just need to pay attention to whether or not your kid and their teacher are a good match. My son was with one teacher for almost year with very slow progress and no float test pass. I think it was due to the combo of teacher being more cautious type and my son being more scared type. He was a 4 almost 5 year old in a class with 3 years olds. Anyway, it was my fault for not paying more attention and switching him to another class sooner. He is did great with his new teacher and passed his float test (finally). We had to switch him again recently due to scheduling conflicts and I will be more attentive to his progress from now on.

I joined without knowing a soul, and was quickly met by lots of smiling faces. Adding in the fun of bowling and a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon, and it's made for a couple of really fun seasons so far! Definitely come a bit early to mingle with your team and stay after to get to know people on other teams. Even if bowling isn't your thing, this is a great consistent activity for a Sunday afternoon, or whenever your section meets!
