I cheered at Premier for 2.5 seasons, 3 teams total: 2 full year seasons & one half year team when…read morethey were associated with Pro Athletics-Leominster, which is no longer around & since then, has been dissolved. For all three teams, I have only had the owner, Ashley, as my coach. Ashley is definitely a bit intimidating, especially if it's your first season being coached by her as an athlete, but she means well & only wants for all the athletes to be successful. Still to this day, I remember all of the conditioning we had to do whenever we were at practices & our full-outs did not look like "hit-zero" routines. She is a tough coach to have, but she knows exactly what she is doing & what has to be done in order to get good results & first place at comps. She can come off a little harsh, but I have actually never witnessed her swear at any of us, which I didn't know was rare until I had gone to a different gym later on & I had coaches who would swear at us quite frequently, on a senior level team. Even when I did not cheer at PSA anymore, I was still super grateful for all the lessons I have learned from being an athlete here. The conditioning I have endured here was like no other & helped me to be, overall, more fit. For high school cheer, we would come here once a week for help with our routines from Ashley & our choreography was always done by her, as well. With that being said, I'll always have love for this gym since I started my allstar cheer journey here. I would say that PSA is a great gym to go to if you're local & not too far. They have super talented lower level teams but once your kids have obtained more advanced tumbling skills (layouts, full twisting layouts, doubles, etc), I would suggest going elsewhere for better opportunity. This is a gym that goes to Summit (National invitation only competition levels 1-5 restricted) and places well & has won in recent years, but in regards to Worlds Championship (levels 6-7, + non tumble teams), there has not been placement in years. This isn't the gym's fault per se, just that there's never been enough athletes with advanced tumbling on one team to place at World's.

If I could give a lower star rating, that would do this place justice. My child cheered with this…read moregym for multiple seasons, and we saw things go from bad, to worse, to unbearable for thier athletes. This gym is unethical when it comes to safety of athletes as well. The owner as well as some coaches treat the athletes horribly, unless the parent is on the board members for thier POP fundraising committee, then those kids are highlighted and always in front of everyone single routine, whether they have the skill set or not. The owner screams at these kids and is extremely degrading. She had told one young athlete that she is thickening up and needs to loose weight, while this child is as small as a bean pole. We left this year and felt so much better after leaving. We weren't the only ones either, about 65 other athletes quit this season due to the owner and her staff. The staff mind you just keeps changing, the employee turnover is ridiculous. I don't think the owner has one coach that has been there more than 3 years. A few years ago, an entire team (JLOVE) quit after our UCA florida competition due to the way the owner treated them at thier competition. The team didn't even go to THE SUMMIT, which they earned a bid for because they all quit. My advice, research the gym, check reviews. This gym is unethical, degrading and honestly a waste of money due to athletes not growing thier skill sets and she brings them to the cheesiest and worst competitions. Charges parents for Varsity comp events but then signs the athletes up at really bad events. The owner is delusional and until she looks in the mirror and treats her staff and athletes better, than maybe she will have higher retention rates. And no, this isn't another gym. I am a parent that has paid to this gym for my daughter to be abused and used as well as many other families. Other gyms are full with athletes, but u keep promoting for positions Ashley! Be honest with yourself for once and maybe people will stop quitting your gym. All surrounding gyms are way bettering bettering and have staff that have been there for multiple years. PSA is a joke!!!! And don't fall for her Board Member POP parents posting 5 star reviews, she asked them to do that to boost her ratings during a board meeting last year.

Despite registering on time and paying the full amount (referral coupon s3friends did not work), I was not added to the mailing list and not assigned any team, and had no direction on where/how to proceed. I tried calling the numbers listed on the Facebook/Instagram pages for further information, but the calls never went through. I then reached out via email following the first week of play, but received no response. Finally, I reached out to the phone number (listed as s3 leagues corp.) on my payment receipt only to get an irritated response from the organizer asking me not to contact her on her personal cell phone. Repeated follow ups produced delayed and shallow email responses. After this entire ordeal, I was not added to the mailing list and was not notified of the cancellation during the rain out last week. I finally got fed up of such inconsideration and asked for a refund, to which I received no response. Last I checked, I have been blocked from the Instagram page for following up on the matter. This has been a terrible experience for me because at one point, I was eager to join this league and meet new people and make friends in the same manner that I did in the social meetup prior. The organizer of this group, Jessica, has proven to be incompetent, inconsiderate and disrespectful, and I would certainly not have even thought about joining this group had I known that she was the one behind the scenes.

Going out after each game with my teammates is great. I've also gotten to know players of other team. I'm looking forward to other events that S3 is offering and next season. I know once softball comes back around I will be signing up for that, too. I also want to mention that communication with Jess has been amazing. She is very responsive to questions and concerns. Even in the beginning she made sure we all knew what was going on before games started for the season.

Also as a Varsity Card holder, I get special invitations to private parties with free access and even free drinks! If you play on a league, you receive 10% off your individual team fee. The card can also be used at various venues for no line/no cover access and 10 - 20 % discounts on foods and products. Additionally, the card already comes equipped with $25 from BuyYourFriendADrink.com to use at participating bars! I want you, dear reader, to imagine being a child in the late 2000s. Smart Phones aren't quite…read moreaccessible yet, so you have no means of entertainment aside from what's in front of you. You are a younger (or youngest) sibling of a one parent household and your parent does not trust you to be alone. Your sibling is invited to a group event but has to drag you along because of this. "This is not how I chose to spend my day, but I will try to make the most of it." You naively think. This Paintball thing sounds kind of fun after all, you've been playing shooters on and off and think it'd be fun to do this in real life. You have to wait the whole drive there because, again, you have no phone to run games on (or at least, not any worth playing) You get to the venue and you are introduced to a few people and given your equipment, noticing the different paintguns available. One of these guns is fed from the top, the other is fed from the back. Both of these are gas-powered, so you don't think much of it to start. You are given some protective gear and get into the first match. You look at your weapon, ready to finally do something. You pull the trigger... Nothing. No click, no round fired, nothing. You, in your adolescent mind, try inspecting the gun to see if there's an easy fix. It's a closed system, so there's nothing you can do. You find a referee and tell them your weapon is broken, and are brought to where the other weapons are. You hand in your defective paintgun, and are sat out for the next half hour doing. absolutely. nothing. Next round starts, you are handed a new (but very similar) paintgun. You test it with a trigger pull... Again, Nothing. You find another referee and turn in the gun but then ask if you can have one of those top-fed rifles. Surely that one won't break, right? "That's for paying customers." You just got handed two broken paintguns in a group activity and are told the models that probably do work are not allowed to you because you are a guest. You're shit out of luck, wait for round 3. Pull the trigger... IT FIRES! Maybe a bit too fast, you figure, but it at least works! You are directed to your starting spot, the whistle is blown, and you peek out of cover. You begin firing on where you think someone is, not actually sure but figure you can lay down some suppressing fire! EXCEPT... A referee approaches, sees you firing full auto, and forbids you from firing again, saying the gun is broken. You are forced to, for a third time in a row, sit out the rest of the match. You'd rather be home playing on the Xbox, this trip has been a colossal waste of your time. There's one more round at least... Broken, again. No firing. You just sit there, behind a tree, on a sweaty summer day, for thirty minutes, because you have completely given up on the staff here. No one will help you, and the equipment that actually works is not being given to you because you "aren't a paying customer." This is my only experience with Paintball. Three guns that jammed, and a fourth that had me immediately disqualified. Only a decade later do I realize how completely unjust this was and come on Yelp to leave a black mark on this website like they left a black paintball on my heart.
