In the not so distant past I had to almost specify if I needed any shirt to be dry cleaned,…read moreotherwise it was understood it was just standard laundry. Lately at Liberty Cleaners on Washington and Old Walnut Cir they seem to randomly pick shirts for dry cleaning from your load. Say if I handed in 12 shirts for laundry they would pick maybe 4 or 5 for "dry cleaning". That's because they can charge $5.50 instead of $3.00. They have done this to me at least 4 or so times earlier because I forget to bring this up when I go to turn in my shirts. Just dropped off the load and took the ticket. I went there this afternoon to turn in a few casual printed cotton shirts for laundry and she started picking the ones for dry cleaning. When I stopped her she tried to tell me that they would need to hand press the shirts. Then she said if I wasn't worried about quality they would do regular laundry. I just brought the shirts back. I find this practice unethical. Seems like they started this racket after the pandemic. I will never go to Liberty Cleaners anymore.

The new owners are very pleasant but the quality isn't there. The sweaters are now smelly like they've been in my grandmothers basement for 20 years, buttons are broken after being crushed and they don't seem to try to learn who their regular customers are. Again, they are very pleasant but I think after 20+ years of going here, I am going to be looking for a new dry cleaner.

Absolutely not. I took a evening gown there for alteration, really just to be hemmed! It took a…read morelong time for the dress to finally arrive, as it was ordered on line. I am the mother of the bride, recouping from a huge surgery. So the service I received and additional efforts to get the dressed hemmed were ridiculous. The employee measured the hem and said she has to send out to tailor for a cost. They advertise they do alterations on site? She assured me I would get the dress hemmed in a week. So the next day I got a text with a quote of $250.00, for the Hem and $45.00 for the dry clean. So that's almost $ 300.00. I paid just a little over $200.00 for the dress. The reason I am taking the time to write this short story is because it's just a hem? She indicated I would have to answer her asap for approval on the dress 2x with in the span of less than 25 min. When I answered her back with a no, I never got a response. So I texted a few times and left a message on her vm. My daughter said she would hem it. I was trying to avoid that as she is the bride and busy. So just way over priced. No response when time was an issue. And just not taking ownership of the situation. Will not ever go there again.
