Rik was very respectful of our time and our needs. We found a car we liked on TrueCar and Rik got back to us within a day. He had the Hyundai Sante Fe we were interested in pulled up and ready to go when we got there. We looked at the car, he walked us through the features, we test drove it,and had some more good discussions about that SUV versus some other similar vehicles. We thought we might go check out another model ( at a different dealer) to test drive before making a final decision, and Rik got us a nice print out of the price, dealer fees, and carfax report to look over with no pressure or hurry to even buy the car that day. After a stressful experience earlier that day with another dealer who kept trying to strong arm us into buying a car we really appreciated that and how upfront he was with all of our questions on the remaining factory warranty. His knowledge and professionalism totally won us over and we decided we wanted to buy that car right then and there and not bother looking elsewhere to do business. No weird head games, no crazy negotiations, just here is the price, here is the TTL, and our available USAA discount. Simple, easy to understand. Richie over in finance was also amazing, we really loved being able to see all the additional warranties and services on that giant iPad where we could clearly see the costs, loan terms, options/details, and ask questions about all the services. Our 14 year old was in the office with us and even she was impressed that she could understand the conversation and what we were getting with the car. I feel the pricing was transparent, we were getting a great deal, and Richie was even able to find a loan with a better interest rate than the pre-approved offers we had in advance. Night and day difference between South Pointe CJDR and that other dealer! We will be back in the future when its time to replace our other vehicle or purchase a car for our kids. Incomplete work done on my vehicle. Exhaust left disconnected. Called the dealership to complete work. No call back even though I have called and text several times myself to speak to someone. 5 days into this the work is still incomplete the vehicle is undriveable and I have not been called much less compensated. Do your business elsewhere. If service is this bad why would you purchase anything from them. 1 Star, because zero is not an option. To the South Point Team ... you should be ashamed of yourselves. Horrible horrible service. I am currently on the hunt for the perfect Dodge Charger Scat Pack, as it will be the first car I will be buying for myself completely in cash. I already had the perfect one picked out but wanted to make sure I was making the right decision by looking at others. When I was here I was surprisingly not helped for about 20 minutes, given the reputation of car salesmen it was quite surprising. I had already looked over all of the Challengers, Chargers, and stood waiting at the only Scat Pack on the lot for about 10 minutes. Once I got tired of waiting I started walking towards the building where I could see all the salesmen sitting, but before I made it to the building, good thing I didn't, someone finally came out and sloppily asked me if I've been helped. Obviously not you all are inside. I replied "No" and he of course asked what did I need help with. I said "I want to hear the Scat Pack." He said "You want to hear the Scat Pack??" and I said "Yes" and continued walking back to the car. The car is great. Beautiful. Sounds amazing. Gorgeous. That salesman had no interest in selling that car. I'm not sure if he thought I couldn't afford it or what? But once he knew I was interested in a 2019 that I already had the cash for then he started to care. Trust me I know there's a lot of people wasting their time but this guy was almost pouting when he came out, and to be honest he stayed that way through the whole time I was there. He never gave me his name, he never shook my hand, and there was just no care for the job he does. You can see it in his face and I wish I knew his name. That car is too pretty to be on that lot. This dealership tried to trick us into multiple unnecessary services that would have cost us upwards of $1300+. A while back my wife had her oil changed on her 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland at this location. While she was waiting, a tech brought out an air filter to show my wife how dirty it was and that she needed a new one. Rather than just doing it, my wife declined and figured she'd have me check it later. The tech said he was very surprised she would decline to have that changed as it was REALLY dirty and he strongly cautioned against that, but she said again that she would just have me check it myself. (My wife is smart and knows that I can pop a filter in and out for less money. I'd change my own oil except I just prefer not to). When she went to pay, she saw the same filter sitting on a desk behind the guy. Unless they just changed the filter anyway and then didn't even tell her, it just seemed a bit odd, but this was our first indicator that things seemed to be off. My wife's Jeep has the Quadra Lift air suspension. It has never had an issue previously, but upon leaving, within minutes her car started bouncing up and down. Then the vehicle started almost hopping off the ground with a warning to "check air ride suspension immediately"! She turned right around and brought it to them. At this point I drove down to meet her. We were told that the air ride control computer had failed. Our after market warranty specifically excluded this repair and I learned online that some Jeeps have been known to have this sudden failure, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, without our warranty, the new computer would be $1300 we just didn't have at that moment. We were told they could temporarily inflate the suspension and disconnect the control computer to make it drivable but that we definitely should not wait more than 2-3 weeks and even that was pushing it because if the car had a random electrical surge, then the computer could turn on and cause the car to suddenly deflate and drop which could even cause body damage. We decide to leave and try and get the money together only to have them call a day or two later to have my wife come back because they realized they left a tool attached to her vehicle... Anyway, fast forward a while. We had tried to get the money to fix it, but shortly after all this, some things happened with my business and I had to go several months without pay. So we were literally praying nothing happened while we drove this car. Then one day, I bumped a button on the panel and to my surprise the vehicle height changed. So it got me curious. I was nervous at first, but I hit another button. Then another. Then changed through all the modes. Everything worked!!!! How in the world could it be functioning properly when it was A) A malfunctioning computer and B) When it is supposed to be disabled?!? The whole thing seemed so odd to begin with. I've been periodically testing it for weeks now and have zero issues. Now the vehicle is due for another oil change. This time we take it to a Jiffy Lube around the corner because my wife does not trust Southpoint Dodge Service. They showed us our filter (as per their policy) and says my current filter is fine. I visually saw it myself and it looked about what I would have expected. Some visible wear but easily able to be seen through. Then their service tech comes out to ask who did the oil change last. I tell her Southpoint Dodge and she says well, they're jerks because the oil plug was either stripped or tightened so tight that it can's be taken off. Also, the vehicle was 2 quarts low and I know for a fact that we do not have an oil leak as I check for that often. They are fixing the dealerships mistake for free by having a regional tech come down to safely remove and replace their negligible work. I would not trust Southpoint Dodge with even an air filter ever again. Be advised. read more

I had found a vehicle at South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram that was almost exactly the one I had sought. However, after my experience there, I would never purchase or service any vehicle at that dealership. Several events that occurred over the course of a few hours lead me to conclude this is not a dealership that has any genuine concern for customer service, customer satisfaction, and customer and staff safety. First, while waiting for the salesman to bring the vehicle around for a test drive, I spoke with a customer who had purchased a Jeep the previous week. He had been promised a loaner, none was made available to him. He had been unhappily waiting for over an hour for work that was to have taken 20 minutes. My salesman and I had only been on Highway 169 for a few minutes when the vehicle lost all power. Fortunately, it was a Saturday and not rush hour traffic so we weren't rear ended and were able to coast to the shoulder. The vehicle had no gasoline. We waited for 20 minutes in 95 degree heat for someone to drive 3 miles to pick us up. I realize this dealership has a large inventory, but it seems not only cheap to not have gasoline in the vehicles, but also a huge liability. Had the lack of fuel resulted in an accident and/or consequential injuries from being disabled while in highway traffic, South Pointe would be completely liable for all damages. Additionally, had the salesperson or myself suffered a heat-related medical event while waiting for someone to retrieve us from the highway, South Pointe again would bear all liability. Once back at the dealership, while the salesperson was figuring some sales numbers for me, I witnessed another negative customer staff interaction. A customer entered and asked for directions to the parts department and if they were still open at that hour. The responding salesman provided vague directions and did not know their hours. Why does the staff lack general information about the dealership? I know this isn't Lexus or Audi and I don't expect that level of service, but at the better dealerships, that customer would have been personally escorted to the parts department. Lastly, the dealership was having IT issues and couldn't print a price quote but the numbers they provided were discrepant from those posted on their website for that vehicle. The site listed a $2000 dealer discount while I was told there were no discounts available at that time. I don't assign any blame to my salesperson. He is new to this industry and to this job. I concluded that the events reflect the dealership's systemic problems in business practices and philosophy. read more

If you own a jeep BEWARE of these guys!!! They are just out to make a sale!! My story is a little long but well worth the read i promise. I purchased a jeep, a 2013 Rubicon w/ 50K miles to be exact. It was stock 1 week before i bought it at a different dealer the dealer was in the process of lifting it, adding 37" tire, bumpers, and front winch. After i purchased the jeep i dropped it off to be wrapped. After the wrap was complete, i drove it to South Pointe CJD. I asked for the TOP warranty package with the lowest deductible. I got a warranty covering me 100% for 60K more miles w/ a $100 deductible and it cost me $4000K which i paid in full. Fast forward to about 2 months ago... I was informed that it was in need of a new motor!!! this from their own service department. Samara Edwards works in there (she is awesome and the review has nothing to do with her, she is a good service advisor). I was told the warranty company would send out a rep to look at the jeep and confirm my coverage. This process took 2.5 weeks just FYI and within 20 min of the warranty rep being there, i got a phone call that it would not be covered due to the aftermarket parts. I called the warranty company and they said South Pointe should have never sold me the warranty. it then takes another 5 weeks or so to FINALLY speak with the general store manager because he was being replaced. He basically tells me that i should have read the fine print on the warranty. Problem is... I purposefully discussed the aftermarket parts with my sales rep when i bought the warranty (I trusted him). He stopped working there also not long after i bought the warranty. Go figure! I told the general manager this would altogether cost me roughly $21K to get this resolved! he only offered me $1K back from my warranty!! but what about the other $3k i paid for a bad warranty, $1k diagnostics to find the problem, $10K for the motor, The $1100 lost not driving it for 2 months, and the $4K for a NEW warranty. Had the sales rep told me in the beginning "hey,. we can't cover your jeep due to the aftermarket parts"... i COULD have went somewhere else. NOW... its too late and my jeep now has a preexisting condition so who is gonna give me a warranty AFTER the fact??? I have seen this store loose a lot of people to Chris Nickel and yet i remained loyal. I have been using them for roughly 6 years now and watched managers come and go, The service advisor i used before went to Chris Nickel, my warranty sales rep went, the general manager (David Howard) started 2 days ago! This store has problems and only cares about its sales and not customer relations. The general manager even hung up on me today as we had this discussion. Bottom line, it appears as though the sales rep who sold me the warranty was just making a commission sale on his way out the door and the new general manager... my guess is that he just doesn't want to make his numbers look bad his first week on the job so he is not willing to fix the mistake. Sure, apparently i bought a lemon (trust me! I kNow!!) but i also bought a warranty to cover me for that very reason! I thought i was doing the right thing going to South Pointe to get it. I thought they would appreciate that i bought my truck their, its warranty, and i have it serviced there. And now i bought a jeep warranty there and have it serviced there. I thought they would be a little more loyal as i have been. Guess i should have bought a warranty through one of those annoying marketing calls! Steer clear of this dealership. Sold me a new Ram 2500 Mega Cab with a bent axle. They state I hit something but it has had the wobble/vibration issue since purchase. Been thru 2 alignments and 3 sets of tires(with less than 90,000 miles on truck) and they still can not figure out the issue. Said it was just the truck. At one point, with the truck less than 1 yr old the front driver side wheel fell off driving down the highway. My experience was nothing like some of the bad reviews on here. I had a great experience from start to finish. I went to test drive a Jeep Cherokee Limited two weekends ago. While I was there, I fell in love with the High Altitude model, with all the bells and whistles. I called the dealership first thing the following Friday morning and was told the sales team was in a meeting, but they would call me back soon. Not an hour later, one of their salesman, Nathan Lovell, called me back. I asked for a price quote on a lease for two different Cherokee Limited models and he got right to work. We texted back and forth throughout the weekend (which I appreciated, because I wasn't always available to talk!), but it became clear to me that I couldn't afford the payments on the fully loaded Jeep I wanted. So I decided to give up and look at some Honda sedans. I was at the Honda dealer on Saturday morning - minutes away from signing the papers on a Civic, when Nathan called me with an incredible deal on a Jeep just like the one I wanted!! I thought it might be too good to be true, but it wasn't!!! I raced over to South Pointe, test drove the car, and was out of there with a brand new Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with all the bells and whistles a couple of hours later. I did have to spend a few minutes talking with the finance guys and listen to the warranty pitch. I politely declined and they didn't grill me too much or try to push me into it, but I did have to be firm and say "no thanks" several times. But they are just doing their jobs, so you can't get too bothered by it. I would definitely do business with them again. read more

Worse service department ever!!!!! Had company jeep in service dept in August for TWO MONTHS! Fix one thing and they would have to go back in (and charge again) to fix something else on the jeep. Finally got the jeep back and the inside was greasy and dirty. Took the same jeep to Bob Moore this week because jeep was shutting off as it went down hwy and someone told us Chrysler had recall on ignition switch and that could cause jeep to shut down. Come to find out South Pointe took it upon themselves to do this work in September without any consent or approval. Left two messages for service manager and yet to receive a call back!! When I went to talk to the service manager Phillip Nash, He was very hostile, belligerent & screamed at me, eventually throwing me out of the service dept. & telling me to never come back again. This was a very childish attitude, so I went to the general manager who seemed to be helpful & said he would talk to Philip & call me back. He never did. Too bad service is ruined by such a horrible manager like Philip Nash, because they have some great mechanics & service writers. I took my car in because my heater did not work. I was told I needed a very expensive repair for a plugged heater core (replacement cost $1,100). I specifically asked Jacob Wise (the repair coordinator) why he thought is was not the blend door. He said they had "special tools" to check it. I did not feel he was being honest with me. I refused the repair and went and got my car and took it to the Chris Nikel dealership. The problem with the heater was in fact the blend door actuator and was repaired for $160.00. I contacted the service manager Mark DeMarrow. He refused to acknowledge that they had lied to me. I specifically asked him if the heater core was just plugged why they did not try to flush the line? (information I received from a friend) He had no response. I then contacted the GM of the dealership. He was curt and disrespectful. I was told "Well, what do you want?". What I would like is to be able to take my car in for repairs and not be lied to or deceived by what you would expect to be a reputable business establishment. So, if you need a new car or service on your current vehicle find somewhere else, anywhere else to take or buy your car. I was lied to and disrespected by the repair coordinator, the service manager, and the general manager and have all documentation to prove it. These men should be ashamed of themselves. read more

*WARNING!! WARRANTY WARNING!* We bought a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sahara brand new at South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge. We did not care to get the extended warranty but the guy in financing told us that if we never used the warranty we would get all of our money back (not a prorated amount). He even highlighted in the paperwork where it said that. So, we paid $2700 for the extended warranty that we didn't want in the first place. Flash forward to this year. We traded in the Jeep to buy a truck. We had never used the warranty. We called South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge to get our money back for the warranty. Julia Matulis told us that since we didn't keep the warranty for the whole time we would only get 27% of what we paid back. The warranty was for 6 years, 72,000 miles. We had it for 5 years, 50,000 miles. WE WERE NEVER TOLD WE HAD TO KEEP THE WARRANTY UNTIL IT EXPIRED TO GET 100% OF THE MONEY BACK. We were told if we never used the warranty, we would get 100% of what we paid back. I drove there to talk to Julia Matilus in person. I showed her where the finance guy had highlighted saying we were getting 100% back. She told us that if it were their other finance guy she would believe that he lied and she would do something about it but not the one we had because she had known him for 5 years and he would never mislead us. She said its a he-said/she-said matter and she believes him, not us. He told us we would get 100% of the money we paid back. He skipped over the fine print saying we had to keep it for the life of the warranty to get the 100% back and purposefully mislead us. Now they refuse to help us in rectifying this matter. We will NEVER purchase from company's who hide things in small print, blatantly lie to us, and treat us with such disrespect. We would have gladly referred all friends and family to buy from South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge but now I will never. This place is horrible. My son found the vehicle he wanted and they asked us to give them 2 days to fix a few things that needed to be worked on and we agreed to that. When they called us to tell us it was complete and we could come back up there to look at the vehicle again, the items we had been waiting for 2 days to be fixed were in fact NOT FIXED. We were told by multiple employees that one thing that needed to be fixed which was the drive shaft was in fact replaced but then we found out after several hours later and personally talking to the manager that they in fact NEVER fixed that either. His exact words were, "I am trying to save a dollar." They were willing to lie about fixing something that my 16 year old was going to drive after us waiting 2 days for them to fix per there word to us. This company lies to try to sell a vehicle. Th interesting thing is all they had to do from the very start is say what was wrong with the vehicle, let us make the decision if we still wanted to purchase it but to lie about fixing something is just shady and very , very poor business skills, The manager shoul be fired. What they dont know if we were paying cash and were willing to buy something new but after finding out they lied, they are not getting any of my business ever nor any of my friends or families now. I bought a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo last February. The salesman (Paul) was amazing! He was so patient. He showed me all the features of the car and stayed with me until he was sure I understood how everything worked. He also worked very hard to get me the price I needed. I purchased a tow package with my new Jeep, and the salesman took it to the service department to have it installed. When the car came back, he checked everything over again and found a feature that was not working. He took the car back to service immediately where they found a wire disconnected from the tow package installation. It was promptly repaired. After the sale, Paul took me to the service department and introduced me to the manager who gave me a coupon for a free oil change.. I am going in tomorrow to get my free oil change. I am apprehensive after reading so many negative reviews for the service department. It is my intention and hope to write another excellent review tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed! read more

took car in for an oil change in August. now car has an oil leak (2014 $35k car). my husband is a mechanic. he crawled under the car and found that the oil filter was lose. called dealership. they wanted me to drive the car in. after telling them they needed to provide a letter that they were telling me to drive the car, they decided to have it towed. when they called to say that the car was ready, the service manager told my husband that he performed the oil change himself (not true per the invoice) and that they performed an engine wash to clean the old oil off (also not true given the oil all over the bottom of the engine when we check the filter when I got the car home). When I picked the car up, the service manager said that it was a defective oil filter. I've notice other comments on here about the scheduling service. I too scheduled an appointment on line (in Aug) and when I got there was told I needed to leave the car (for an oil change) because the appointment time was really not an appointment time rather an "arrival time" for the dealership. read more

Very disappointed. The day after I bought my truck the check engine light came on. I took it back and they cleared it and said "oh, it was just a misfire." The very next day, on a Sunday, it came back on. I called on Monday and the used car sales manager said ,"oh it's fine, my check engine light has been on in my vehicle for over a year." So that is supposed to make me feel like I had good service after the sale??? After spending $1200.00 at a legitimate shop my truck is now operable. How sad!!!! I am so disappointed. In medicine, if I were to tell a patient, "oh it's ok, my dad had a heart attack too" should make someone feel better??? Give me a break. If I did my job as poorly as they did I would have lost my medical license long ago. How about some customer service after the sale. Buyer beware, they will not back up their vehicles! First off, I want to say that I was not the one purchasing a vehicle. I went with my Girlfriend to purchase a Jeep renegade and the salesman was very polite and professional. However, when we got towards the end of the sale with the finance guy, he started to talk about the extended warranty. I politely stopped him and said that we were not interested in there extended warranty. He then said that he had good news and that he could get us a lower monthly payment than originally stated even with the extended warranty. We told him that we still didn't want it and he began to say"I don't understand why you don't want to protect yourself from expensive repair costs". We told him again that we didn't want it and he would not leave it alone. He kept trying and trying to sell us the extended warranty after we had told him no multiple times. After he realized that we were not going to buy the warranty he started to get real short with us and even left the room because he was so upset we didn't purchase it. A couple days later the main finance guy called my girlfriend and had the nerve to try to sell her the extended warranty again. First off, not only was south point chrysler jeep dodge doing there customers a disservice by arguing about the extended warranty, the auto manufacturers these days are doing a disservice to their own brand name by trying to give you a short warranty so they can charge you more for an extended warranty. By giving such short warranties, auto manufacturers are saying that the don't stand behind there vehicles anymore. I will also add that the original finance guy was supposed to call my Girlfriend the day after the sell and never did. read more

DO NOT take your vehicle to this dealership or service department! We decided to trust them with our vehicle and leave our vehicle in their possession to have a repair done, bear in mind my car is a brand new vehicle, while on their lot overnight somebody walked on and stole the wheels from my vehicle leaving my car on cinder blocks with $19k worth of damage! Not only did the dealership accept NO responsibility for this happening they made excuse after excuse as to why it is not there fault, our insurance had to pay for the repair to the vehicle, and they didn't even get that right! Twice it had to go back in to be repaired because they messed up the paintwork! The manager of the service department and the dealership are EXTREMELY rude and very unhelpful, with no care or concern for your property! We have also come to find out that our vehicle isn't the only vehicle that has either had parts stolen or has been broken into on their property, several have been! Yet South Pointe have done NOTHING to improve security of their lot, nor do they care in the least about your vehicle or you! If you take your vehicle here then you are taking a serious risk into your own hands, and don't be suprised if it happens to you, it's happened to us and many other people, and they don't care! read more

I bought a brand new 2016 Jeep Cherokee about a week ago, Sunday on our way to church it started making a noise and jerked when you accelerated after you stopped at a stop light or stop sign. Made an appointment for 10:30 the next morning, took it in and they gave us a loaner vehicle which was nice but completely shocked that we are already having problems with a brand new vehicle. They called the next day to let us know that the gears were installed incorrectly and that the parts were completely destroyed and were shocked that it ran as far as it did. They are ordering new parts and have to rebuild the back end of the Jeep. I will not get it back till next week. Keep in mind this is a brand new vehicle and I understand that mistakes happen but not a good first experience. I placed 3 calls today to a Justin F. and left him a detailed voicemail about what I am dealing with and how upset I am. He never returned my phone calls. So not only a bad first impression on the quality of the vehicle I am also disappointed in the fact that the sales manager cannot even return a customers phone call! I am a customer of over 9years at this location. I own a 2004 Chrysler and went in for a oil change. When checking me in the young lady asked if I untended on leaving my car. I said no. I was here for their express lube and oil change. She asked again. And preceded to inform me some people leave their car. I asked if the sign was correct. For a express lube and oil changed. She rolled her eyes. I should had left right than. But 2 hours later. She inform me the manager NEEDED to SEE my emailed incentive sent to me. But he was busy. I returned to waiting area.
