No follow up calls, not updates, not even a courtesy to return my calls. they keep saying they're short handed, only have 2 techs, same excuse they've been using for the last 2 years. If my truck wasn't under warranty, I wouldn't use them. this is last time for me.

Not only did they keep my vehicle for almost 5 months. I paid over five thousand dollars for a rental car that I wasn't informed of out of pocket until after my car was in their care for over 4 months. When I visited again to speak to the General Manager and Service manager the General manager agreed to give me another rental without any out of pocket to me personally. He again lied and had his service manager send me another bill. When my husband and I went to pick up my car and pay the amount because they were not releasing my vehicle to me otherwise he told my husband that my daughter and I had lied to him about our conversation. What he doesn't know is we recorded said conversation. The dealership and the insurance company should have worked this out. It's not my fault that they took 5 months to find out my cars problems. I would highly suggest this corporation do a formal investigation on warrant and Insurance fraud on this dealership. Johnny the GM is not an honorable man, he is not a leader and he definitely isn't going to make this right with us. I am formally filing a complaint with the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, among other relevant organizations, to report the questionable practices I encountered. It is unacceptable that they attempted to file warranties and insurance without a clear understanding of the situation, raising serious concerns about potential fraudulent actions. While I am considering legal action, I want to make it clear that I will not allow this matter to be swept under the rug. The fact that I was compelled to pay a substantial sum for their inability to diagnose my vehicle's issues is not only counterproductive but utterly unbelievable. I demand accountability and transparency from this establishment. Sincerely, Susan Holland

The dealership is about 50 mins from Lubbock so we called in advanced, and when we pulled up the vehicle was washed, detailed, and parked right up front for us. Anson, our salesman, and Jacob, his co-salesman/trainee, immediately helped us. These two gentlemen were incredibly sincere and personable, as well as knowledgeable about the vehicle and finances. Since we went in with a price in mind and facts/figures to back it up, we were able to reach an agreed upon price in record time. I suggest calling ahead of time if you have any questions about on-going promotions, since some require special paperwork that must be faxed over to some Toyota main hub. We had this paperwork, but it still took about an hour to finally start signing contracts. The first of two knocks against the whole experience was discussing the extended warranty. I feel like this is a necessary hurdle no matter what dealership you're in, but nevertheless we had to say "No, thank you" several times before moving on. The second setback came when we were finally putting pen to paper and our price was 500$ higher than what was agreed upon. It boiled down to a miscommunication, but was very close to being a costly mistake to our detriment. It was a fantastic experience overall, and they certainly made life long customers out of us. We have already recommended them to friends and family. Thank you Ansom and Jacob.

I highly suspect that the check engine light was reset each time before the truck was presented to me. Problems should either be disclosed and the price should reflect the issues. Be aware of this. Update: contacted the salesman and later arranged for me to bring it in. While I was doubtful anything would get addressed, they evaluated the issues and agreed to fix most of the issues on a later scheduled appointment. I was surprised to say the least.

Sometimes you pass, sometimes you fail, but it should always be a lesson to be better. To the moral of this statement.... I was in the market for a newer car, since my current car was about 10 years old, and I felt I deserved an upgrade. I searched around and found a few SUV's that I liked and went on the main Gene Messer website, which paired me with a salesman at their toyota location and we got in touch via email and text. I looked over their inventory and did not see anything I liked but saw one at one of their Sister Dealerships and the salesman told me "If there is a car/truck we have that you want, I can get it." I believed him. So I asked him to try to get that vehicle and I would come in for a test drive. Since this convo happened late Saturday, he said he would call the Sister dealership on Monday morning and have them bring the truck over. Monday comes.....he says he is working on it, but tells me to just come on out anyways and it should be handled by the time I get there. I figured it could not hurt, since I was already in that area, so I go. He sits with me for a few minutes, we make small talk and he keeps trying to show me other vehicles. I turn those down. He proceeds to tell me everything that is bad about my trade in and then gives me a low ball offer. I was not even concerned about my trade in because I had a large down payment. But then tells me the truck I wanted already sold. OK. So I get my keys and leave. I head to another dealership, where they not only give me 2500 more on my trade in, but also found another of the truck wanted with no issue. That salesman did his job and called around until he found it for me. Insanely enough, the original truck I wanted DID NOT ACTUALLY SELL. I had a friend call the dealership where it was and they said they still had it, and asked if my friend wanted to come in for a test drive that day. Nice, so my original salesman lied to my face, clearly did not want to work that day, and basically lost about $80,000+ in sales. How is that you ask? Well, I was seeing how my personal transaction would go, and if I came out happy, I would buy a fleet of about 4 or 5 trucks and a van for my company. Nice one Gene Messer Toyota. So, looks like they failed this test, and lost a potential repeat customer.
