I walked by several fish and chips eateries before getting here, so I know this place's price is a bit higher than others'. However, the quality of its food made it justifiable. The fish is moist and very tasty, the batter is always just right, though you can have it lightly battered. Chips are equally good-firm and dry, not at all soggy. It seems to be open all hours so there is no excuse if visiting the Las Vegas if the North not to visit.

On arrival, after choosing a table we were given menus with a sample of one of the daily specials which was John Dory. I ordered the hake whilst my dining companion ordered the John Dory. Both were superb. The batter is really perfect, light, delicate flavour and just the right level of crispiness. I would recommend the 'square deal' option off the menu as it includes mushy peas and a similarly sized fish, just a few less chips than a standard portion. They have a good ice cream range so I finished my meal off with a portion of mint choc chip - one of my favourites. They are licensed too so if you fancy beer or wine with your meal this is possible. I'm now at the point where going to Blackpool for the day and not going to one of the branches of Seniors is almost unthinkable!!
