Bar drinks are above par, housemade syrups and fresh juices. The bartender served us. She, Lacey (if I remember correctly) was great, had good recommendations and was very knowledgeable. My son had the scallops shrimp and grits, he cleaned the plate. I had chicken fries steak and fries with jalapeño gravy. Food was very good. Definitely be visiting this place again!!

My son ordered the scallops and to say they were gritty was an understatement. And the service...well when we could flag our waitress down we got service. Otherwise she was nowhere to be found. My husband flagged down another waitress after we had been sitting there for 15 minutes without any water or drinks. We also had to flag her down for the check. Considering the price tag for the night, I expected the service to be better.

Our time at Urban Table was marked with highs and lows leaving me with mixed feelings…read more Pros: -CocoCrunch shrimp were good, perfectly fried, and the shrimp were a wonderful texture. The sauce they compared with was also delicious -Brussels sprouts were crispy and had a nice char -our waitress was the only person on the floor while simultaneously managing the bar. She was trying her best to keep everything afloat during lunch and was very sweet. Neutrals: -the margarita I ordered with mezcal was fine. It tasted like it had a premade sweet and sour mix. -the chicken Parmesan sandwich my husband got was nothing to write home about but was exactly as described. His sweet potato fries were also generically good. Cons: -the restaurant didn't appear to be too clean. The floor was a bit dingy and there was visible food debris on it. -I was served water in a glass where the rim had a brown syrup like liquid on the rim. Not sure if that was from a past drink or perhaps soda syrup? -the basil in my husband's drink was very unappealing. I know basil can be a finicky herb, but putting it on display in his cocktail was off putting. He removed it immediately. -having only one staff member tending to lunch seemed odd. Considering the building is two stories, I believe she was having to leave to potentially go downstairs to retrieve food. There were multiple times no one was upstairs. We felt uncomfortable asking for anything because we didn't want to overwhelm someone just trying to keep their head above water. Overall, I wish the best for the establishment.

So the actual restaurant area is pretty small with limited seating. The inside was quaint and clean. Service was on-time and friendly. I got the give a dog a bone drink which is a sazerac that had dominant flavors in citrus so it wasn't too bitter. Started off the meal splitting a side Cobb salad which had candied bacon, deviled egg and avocado with buttermilk dressing. Our 2 main were the chicken fried steak and the black truffle sacchetti pasta. The CFS was good, well-seasoned and had good breading. But the size was a lot smaller than expected. Definitely not a shareable dish. Came with typical green beans and mashed potatoes. The black truffle sacchetti pasta was great! Sacchetti pasta is cheese stuffed pasta. The black truffle wasn't overwhelming, yet noticeable. And came with decent amount of grilled chicken. Very creamy and cheesy dish- this was shareable. Overall a great meal and we left stuffed.

The restaurant itself was great for this family of 8 celebrating the youngest brother's 21st. We had Abraham as our server and he was amazing. He hit everything one would want in a top tier server. He was informative, attentive and still down to earth and able to understand this families' quirks! We did not have any complaints about the food we were served! Large portions, drinks were all amazing. Each of us got a different entree. Baked Ziti - Hubby hardly orders pasta, loved this one. The sauce had the right amount of heat with a slight sweetness. Linguine and Clams - Birthday Boy loved and says it's definitely a cravable entree that he would go back for. Chicken Parmesan- a lot, made our son's girlfriend happy and did not disappoint Chicken Alfredo - so much food here, Son's fiancé had to take the rest home but loved it. Scallop Special - oldest son loved the portion size and size of the scallops Gnocchi- son#4 has eaten here before and swears by it, even though he claims it's not as good as his mommas I got the filet with the mushrooms and sautéed spinach. Cooked perfectly medium rare, cut like butter. Didn't want the onion rings it came with, but it came with it. So just sent them home with one of the kids. Granddaughter got spaghetti noodles with a butter sauce -- she is 3 and ate half the full adult portion. Prices are high end, but seriously when making a reservation you would know that. Great date night or big celebration dinner to book!!

The spaghetti sauce was rich tomato without overly zesty and the meatballs were seasoned perfectly. The tea is wonderful. The restaurant is nestled downtown College Station where you can walk up and down the Main with cute lights when it's night and some entertainment down the road. The restaurant is on the corner and the inside was very clean and you can tell it has some history. A person, who I believe was the owner, greeted us and sat us down right away. The vibe is fairly quaint and the ambiance is dark but chill. The menu is minimal but I love that there aren't 100s of options. We were greeted by a very nice server who offered fresh baked bread. While I live for fresh baked bread, this tasted old and stale. It didn't taste fresh but almost as though it had been sitting out for some as it was dry and super chewy. What we ordered: - the lobster w/lobster and added shrimp: pasta was perfectly cooked But the sauce was missing one crucial ingredient....salt!! My son, who is 12, also noted it was very bland and lacked any seasoning! He put salt and pepper and said it was much better but needed a lot of help! The lobster and shrimp were a bit over cooked as well, it was slightly rubbery. - the lobster (substitute lobster for chicken): the same review as the dish above, but the chicken was a bit dry and over cooked. - mozzarella garlic bread: this was the highlight of the meal! Very stringy like they used fresh mozzarella and garlicky just like we like it with marinara sauce! - calamari: one of my son's favorites but he noted they seemed frozen and not fresh! He couldn't eat it because the calamari was very tough and chewy! It was a major let down! While I appreciate the concept, and maybe it was an off day when we went, we'd think twice about going there again! The service was impeccable but the food is why I have it a 3. (Please note we ate here in April 2025)

The hotel itself? Relatively nice. Good location, attractive rooms, interesting vibe. Under…read moredifferent circumstances, I'd probably give it 3 or 4 stars for the physical property alone. But here's the thing--when something goes wrong at a hotel and they make you a promise to fix it, they should actually fix it. That hasn't been our experience here. In 2023 we had some legitimate issues, such as there was a minibar charge made on our account when we didn't use the minibar, restaurant service that was frustratingly slow, a broken light in our balcony. When I wrote about it, management responded by offering us a free night--in writing, no conditions mentioned. We said 'thanks, we'll take you up on it when we're back in town.' Fast forward to now. Every time we we've tried to use it, something new comes up. The examples below are ones I can document (there were other verbal conversations I can't full reconstruct): * First it was football weekends (which, fair enough--but that was never mentioned when they made the offer) * Then a separate "special event" exclusion got invented when a non-football event came to town for a date we were interested in * Then I picked a date off their own list of available dates offered by one of their managers, and I was told now all the sudden there's actually a two-night minimum--after the had urged me to pick something quickly and I responded the same evening (within 90 minutes) * Then a dinner gift card that was offered in writing got pulled back a week later * Then they asked for a certificate number--there was never any certificate issued; the original offer was just 'let me know and I'll book you in' One of their managers actually admitted in writing that the restrictions were never explained upfront. And still--no confirmed booking as of April 2026. I've got the whole email chain if anyone doubts any of this. I'll update the review if they actually come through. Haven't been able to hold my breath that long yet.
