I received good care here when I went to be treated for a UTI. However, they are running…read moreunnecessary tests, price gouging and engaging in deceptive billing practices. Today I received a text that I had "scheduled" a payment for $421 that was going to post to my debit card in 6 days. When I called their office they claimed my insurance is refusing to cover the urine culture and claimed that when I signed the paperwork at the time of the visit I "authorized" them to charge my card for whatever they want. I don't recall signing any such paperwork beyond authorizing the initial copay. I was able to cancel this charge but it feels sneaky that this was not disclosed to me at the time of my visit- I would have waited and seen my GP who doesn't gouge me for lab work and doesn't have sneaky billing practices. I regret going here and I don't want others to make the same mistake. Furthermore I called my insurance today and was informed that they ran a bunch of unnecessary tests which ran up my bill. I knew exactly what was wrong because it's a chronic issue, and only needed a standard urine culture. Why as $800 worth of tests run without my consent for a standard UTI visit? I've been in this situation countless times before and was never taken advantage of financially this way by an Urgent Care before.

It was our first time coming here and I was surprised that there was no wait. I figured since everyone was getting the flu (and this location was pretty much in the Loop), there would've been a wait but, no, it was empty, which was awesome! Maybe we just got lucky. Anyways, Sarah B, NP, helped us as soon as I registered my kids. She was awesome with them. I liked her very much. Nowadays, finding doctors that are good with kids are seldom. Even our pediatric office wasn't always "kid friendly". Sarah was very friendly and she made my kids happy while being seen. She, then, was very detailed with us. I would definitely recommend this clinic with Sarah. I would also go back again if any one of us needed to be seen. Thanks Dr Sarah!

The staff were kind and timely, the visit was straightforward, and they solved the problem we came in for. We paid $125 for the self-pay exam and an additional $35 for ear irrigation. One thing they could improve: the consent form said the procedure would be explained beforehand, but that didn't happen before we were asked to sign. I read the form and asked questions, which the staff answered, but I would have appreciated an explanation first. The negative reviews made me hesitant to book. Many seemed to involve insurance billing, which I can't speak to as a self-pay patient. Based on our visit, though, I would come back if we needed care again.

They waited till our flu results were known and then advised us how to proceed. Lisa was polite and helpful on the phone. Clayton went out of his way to answer our questions, provide medical guidance for flu-like symptoms, and even brought us a bottle of water while we waited for the test results. I can't speak to any of the my fellow Yelpers' review but based upon my experience, I'm glad I went and recommend them highly. I first started going to them for Covid tests during the pandemic and then for general medical guidance post-pandemic. The waiting room was clean, well lit, and nicely furnished. Thank you for reading, Patrick PS: oh, one female medical attendant took my vitals before Clayton but I neglected to ask her name. She too was lovely! (1/09 update: her name is Kene, thanks Kene!)

First, the hours online were not accurate and the office closed an hour earlier than listed. Second, the website said walk ins were welcome and I would wait less than 5 minutes to be seen. I walked in and no one was at the desk. After a few minutes, the receptionist came up. I asked for an urgent care visit and she said that the doctor had virtual appointments, so she wasn't doing urgent care. She said I could make an appointment for another day, which defeats the purpose of a walk-in urgent care clinic. The office itself was beautiful and seemed very clean. Unfortunately, I won't come back here because of their misleading marketing. I wasted time walking to Clear, when I could have gone to another clinic before they closed.

My throat hurt like ****, and i felt like utter garbage. My clinic and internist were booked and i was due to get on a flight to Denver the following morning. Ugh. I googled and found Chicago Express Doctors. The doctor came in, gave me the strep culture which came back positive. He gave me an injection of antibiotics, which i had never had. He also gave me a steroid to decrease my swelling in my neck. He also gave me a Z-pack, sore throat rinse. I never had to leave the house! No runs to the pharmacy, no waiting in lines. IN-CREDIBLE.. i have had strep many times in my life, but never have i felt better so quickly! Honestly, the throat felt better within 3/4 hours. I was able to get on the plane the next morning, felt wonderful. All i can say is WOW. If only all docs did this. I just can't say enough great things about these guys. Fabulous A++++ thank you!!

I went to this Northwestern Immediate Care location in Chicago strictly for routine blood work as…read morepart of my annual exam. This visit was only for a blood draw. There was no consultation, no exam, and I did not see or speak with any doctor at that location. Despite this, a "doctor's visit" was billed at nearly $700. After insurance, I was still charged $321 out of pocket for a visit that never happened. I had to call several times and got only impolite responses saying that the bill was correct, although I was charged for a visit which never happened. Fortunately my primary care doctor, who is based at a different Northwestern location, helped escalate the issue, and their office manager was able to get the charge corrected. I appreciate their help in resolving it. However, the incorrect charge originated from the Immediate Care location itself, which is very concerning. Patients should not be billed for services they did not receive. Because of this experience, I would not return to this location and would not recommend it to others. This is not my first experience with Northwestern Medicine facilities charging for services I did not receive or billing twice for the same service. If it were not for my doctor-who is truly exceptional, takes time with patients, and provides outstanding care-I would avoid Northwestern altogether. Stay away and avoid problems.

I was seen quickly, given a diagnosis, medicine, and a script to take home with me. The treatment worked, and I was able to be up and running in no time! Then the bill came, and it wasn't bad at all! Mind you, I've not yet met my insurance deductible, so the only adjustments were the amounts approved by insurance. In my case, the exam, medicine, and urine test came to $165. Sure, it's not exactly cheap, but given the overall cost of healthcare, I feel this is a more than fair price. Final verdict: Being unwell and going to a healthcare professional is never fun, but Midwest Express made the process quick and painless, for both me and my pocketbook. Would return/recommend?: While I hope neither you and I are unwell, if you are, then Midwest Express should be surely be considered.
