I took about 5 months of online vocal lessons with Kristin and it was really good. As a bonus, I also got an opportunity to perform in one of the recitals hosted by Kirsten and it was a great experience. She's very flexible and knowledgeable, and knows how to pace yourself to improve your skills over time.

I enjoyed my meetings with her. She always so the positives and the possibilities, even when it came to my own songs. She was extremely supportive of working on my original music and helped me feel confident with the few songs I wrote that were pretty high on my range. She's also a very real person, so we could focus but we could also laugh or acknowledge if we were struggling a bit that day. She offers all of her students, piano and singing, to participate in a recital that is hosted by an elderly care facility for which she volunteers her time, I believe to do singing or choir. I suggest for any potential student to take that opportunity in that low stress environment with Kristen's support and other supportive students to practice being in front of people. Also, the residents really appreciated it. While meeting in person would have been nice and probably has some advantages, working remotely was really convenient and still quite effective. I highly recommend Seattle City Music with Kristen for your vocal or piano lessons!

Literally the BEST and the most professional vocal teacher I've ever had! I've been training with a…read morefew classical vocal teachers when I was growing up. But I still felt like I don't know how to sing in the right way with the right technics, especially in pop. I am so glad that I found Courtenay. He pointed out exactly what my problems were. He taught me many effective practices that helped me to develop better singing skills and sing in an easier way. I didn't even know I am capable of singing like and sounding like that before I took the lesson with Courtenay. More importantly, Courtenay himself is SUPER talented and musical, I am having a lot of fun taking his lesson. He cares about his students and always check in with me before the lessons. Plus, he's SUPER kind and supportive which is extremely helpful for me when it comes to learning and practicing. Anyways, if you are looking for a highly professional and responsible vocal coach, Courtenay is the one you go for!

Was more than happy with his dedication to my personal singing journey. I'm in the category of anatomically gifted singing....when I was young. When my voice broke, so did all hell, I threw everything I could at my voice to get it to sound good, be in control and generally be of use. Lots of voice lessons, lots of singing and I believe lots of horrible habit implementation. Now, the majority of my money and career has been built on my voice but I've always known I needed to take everything back to square one if I wanted a truly healthy and lasting voice. After only the first few lessons with Courtenay I know he's the guy I can trust to help me break down and rebuild my instrument. Basically, this guy rocks.
