The maintenance person is now friendly and fixes things as soon as he can (within a couple of days). Our unit was repainted and some of our original concerns were alleviated. We still smell weird things through the vents sometimes but that's just because the individual unit vents are all connected. Since you're on the commons, you're bound to get screamers here and there after hours but opening windows on the other side of the house or earplugs can solve that. In a college town, it's hard to find a completely quiet place to live anyway. Bravo for the positive changes! :) P.S. Facilities staff are still super nice

Why?…read more First, the coworking space is comfortable and with good amenities: high-speed internet access with Wi-Fi, access to a conference room and a "zoom" room, kitchenette, coffee/tea/snack area, and a printer. Yes, the cost is reasonable. Second, GereBlock Lounge has an interesting array of folks, including some who are renting offices (and not part of the open space). Several different professions are represented, which makes for interesting coffee conversations. Third, I like the fact that the building (GereBlock 27) has permanent tenants, with more coming: a group from Cornell, Plank & Mule (a CSA), a metal worker, SafeSpace, a pie shop opening in the fall, and a photographer who will be moving in the year. I have my fingers crossed that another eatery or maybe a brewery will also move into part of the first floor. BTW this is a historic building that was in the Erie Canal. Fourth, this in an area of Syracuse that is close to everything! Easy access to downtown, the northern suburbs, Rt 81 and Rt 690. Also there is good food within walking distance! Finally, I gave always enjoyed working around other people. I like the random conversations, which can lead to an ah-ha. After working from home during the pandemic, this is a welcome change of pace.
